The space
Our cottages face the Mayapur ISKCON Temple on the other side. The Ox Bow Lake formed from the mighty Ganges caresses past villages like Chupi and Kasthashali to become home to thousands of migratory birds. The crystal clear waters of the 9 km. long channel of the Ox Bow Lake and the surrounding fruit orchards and farmlands harbour more than 70 species of local and migratory birds. The Ox Bow lake covers an area of almost 3.5 sq. kms. A children park and a watchtower has also become operational lately.

Apart from being a birdwatcher's paradise, the whole of Purbasthali region is steeped in history and religion. With towns like Nabadwip and Mayapur within 15 kms. and temples and ruins of history’s landmark events scattered throughout the region, Purbastali is also a favourite to history buffs. The route from Kolkata to Purbasthali passes through the temple towns of Kalna, Hansheswari, Guptipara and Sukharia, which makes the ride to Purbastali all the more enjoyable and enriching. It also passes through vast stretches of greenery and villages famous for their textiles and handicrafts like Samudragar and Natungram.

Sightseeing:

MAYAPUR Temple Complex of ISKCON is just across our resort over the Ox-Bow Lake of Purbasthali. If you prefer a ferry ride, then drive for 15 kms. to reach the Nabadwip Ghat and take a ferry to Mayapur. We can also arrange a country boat ride to the Mayapur Ghat from the lake but it has to be pre-arranged.

NABADWIP is where the great social reformer and Vaishnava saint – Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (1486 AD to 1533 AD) was born. Nabadwip is an important center of pilgrimage for the Vaishnavas and Hindus world wide. It is merely 12 kms. from our resort.

NATUNGRAM is the Woodworkers' Village. Here, you would find artisans from 45 households engaged in create the most fascinating and colourful wooden idols depicting characters of Hindu mythology. You can buy directly from the artisans.

TANTIPARA or Weavers' Village where weavers from almost 15 homes are enagaged in weaving the most colourful traditional handloom saris. You can watch the weavers working on their looms and take a tour of the entire textile processing. You can buy directly from the weavers.

After spending a quarter of a century in IT industry, out of which 22 years in IBM, one fine morning in early 2017, I decided to do something more exciting and challenging. With the vision of identifying and promoting, lesser known tourist destinations and assuring economic sustainability of the local population, my team and I are in the process of setting up a chain of Eco Resorts across Rural Bengal. In alignment with the vision of our state government, we strive to promote tourism across West Bengal and generate employment in rural Bengal. The benefit of tourism directly strengthens the rural economy in every possible way.
My long association in the service industry helped be in becoming customer focused and my experience as a manager of a top IT company helped me in becoming people and process oriented.
Although I live Kolkata with my family, including my mother, I travel a lot to provide management support to the different Eco resorts , like Purbasthali, that has been set up. Moreover, I travel to different corners of the states to explore new opportunities.
I have been into competitive Taekwondo, Football and Athletics, during my younger days. Although, I am not into competitive sports any more, I remain as a fitness freak, exercising regularly and also enjoy watching any form of competitive physical sports.

We usually try to visit our resort every week. However, we have a full time caretaker, cook, gardener, night watchman, housekeeper to take care of you.
