The apartment was in a perfect location and great for seeing the sights. We were able to walk everywhere. We were a little disturbed by rioting Dutch football fans but this is not a regular occurrence I'm sure! We had everything we needed except a sharp knife in the kitchen. Marzia was a generous host and welcomed us with plenty of useful information. This is not an apartment for you if you find street noise a problem but we loved overlooking the market by day and the nightlife. Constant entertainment
Very good experience. Marzia is brilliant. Very good central location. Only small issue is that it gets very noisy at night so maybe invest in some earplugs or failing that join the partygoers in the piazza.
There has been a lot of good reviews about this apartment. Unfortunately ours will not be one of them.
Apart from the location which is absolutely perfect, the apartment was a let down and was more expensive than much better apartments in the area. One couple costs 110€ + 50€ + 20€.
Additional costs are buried in the general description and not listed up front in the "Additional Prices" section where they should be. This apartment has no lounge/tv room. It has 2 big bedrooms, a tiny room with bunk beds, one bathroom and a kitchen.
The apartment advertises 75€ for "entire home/apartment". For 75€ you will NOT get use of the entire apartment. We assumed that we would be able to use the other bedroom which has a sofa, for my husband to watch TV or read etc while I slept, but it was locked. To use the kitchen is an extra 50€ and I assume would be locked otherwise. There is 35€ for each extra person (much more than other apartments are charging). There is a 20€ fee for limited wifi.
So for one couple it is 110€ per night +50€ + 20€. For extra people add 35€ per person and then the other room will be unlocked. Therefore the accurate minimum price for "entire apartment" (still not including the bunk room) is 145€ + 50€ (kitchen) + 20€ (limited wifi). There are high luxury apartments with luxury facilities available for less than this.
For the 50€ kitchen fee there was no kettle, no toaster, no microwave. I boiled water in a pot for tea and it looked like soup because the pot was so dirty. I ended up using the frying pan as it was the only thing clean. The dish cloth was filthy and there was only one tea towel.
Our bedroom had an ensemble bed base with a one inch thick mattress on top, so apart from being painful with a bad back, the sheets fell off because they are made for a proper a mattress. We had only one thin pillow each and there is no mattress protector so when the sheet comes off you are in contact with the thin mattress where other people have also been in contact, which is unhygienic.
The shower had black mould all along the bottom and the water was barely warm when using only the hot tap. Marzia's husband adjusted the boiler but it did not help.
We attempted to discuss the pricing of "entire home" issue with Marzia but she was defensive saying that " on Website there was was cristal definition". The website does not mention other rooms will be locked.
Marzia needs to change her listing to read "one room 75€ or entire apartment 145€". She needs to drop the kitchen fee (or just build it into the price), get free wifi, and improve the quality and cleanliness of the facilities.
If over 180 reviews are positive and the only negative review is your, maybe you should ask yourself why?
You've written a whole series of things that are not true, to start from the price!
Based on the prices that you wrote, you and your husband would have had to pay for 7 days - time of your stay - € 1 2 6 0 euro : ( 1 1 0 € + 50 € + 20 € = 1 8 0 € x 7 nights ) , while you had paid exactly half!...really a big difference!
The description of my ad is very clear, detailed and truthful ... no one can have surprises!
It's true that in the kitchen there wasn't toaster. But it's also true that the same day, that you asked me, I brought you it!
You wrote that there were no dish cloth in the kitchen, while in the drawer there were no less than 5!
You wrote that you had only one pillow each, while you have taken from the room with the bunk beds (which is always open) the other two pillows and pillow covers, without problem!
About the cleaning don't want to spend words...speak for themselves the other reviews!
Perhaps, lamenting of everything you hoped to get a price even lower of the offer that I do (as you have written in your review). And as you don't have received it, this led you to write all this!
We had a wonderful stay, 2 adult couples.
There was plenty of room and the kitchen was nice and came in handy.
The location is great. The marketplace area is very vibrant and dynamic, but never too loud. I would highly recommend staying here.
Many thanks to Marzia for her hospitality, and also for Fabio, the driver she helped us arrange. He was great.
Marzia was a great host. The Appartment was in an amazing location and in walking distance to most all major attractions in Rome. The appartment was very nice inside and well taken care of. The crown noise was a bit to much at night but other then that it was a perfect appartment for a trip to Rome.
Great apartment and a fantastic location. Marzia arranged for a driver to collect us from the airport which was very convenient and economical. Her neighbour the lovely Federica met us at the apartment, settled us in and gave us some useful information about the area. The apartment itself was very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Loved the ever changing view over the Campo de Fiori and all in all had a great time. Would stay there again and happy to recommend.
Marzia was a great host. She was easy to communicate with, the check in was smooth and she was very helpful with directions, recommendations etc. The apartment could not be a better location for access to the historical monuments, Trastevere, St. Peters, etc. It is a very busy area from early in the morning to late at night so it can be noisy but for us the trade off was worth it. I would definitely recommend staying at the apartment

Adoro ballare, viaggiare e camminare.
