Located right in Kreuzberg and two minutes from the international, multi-cultural and lively famous Oranienstrasse, the room is very quiet, at the end of a large apartment with a nice view over typical Berlin backyards.
The guest room is 25-m2 in size and is located on a 150-m2 large apartment opposite the bathroom. It is newly renovated (June 2013), has a new 1.60 m wide bed with new mattress, wardrobe, TV, sofa and a dining table with chairs. It is also equipped with a microwave, a coffee maker, kettle, crockery, coffee, tea, and a small refrigerator, so that you prepare your own meals/breakfast if you want.
The flat (where the rental room is located) is in a very peaceful neighbourhood, and in the morning guests might even be awakened by a real cock crowing since there is a farm very nearby.
Although this is an idyllic setting, the accommodation is actually very close to the typical Berlin district of Kreuzberg, which is home to the famous street “Oranienstraße” with its numerous bars, restaurants, small terraces and international cuisine. In just a short stroll visitors can reach the famous bars „Sage-Club“, „Kater Holzig“, "SO36", "Berghain" and more.
Smoking is allowed. Arrival and departure is flexible, if the room is not booked same day. Then: Check out please at 11 a.m., arrival not before 12 a.m.
We share the (spacous and lockable) bathroom.
Interaction with Guests
I've been living here for 30 years and I'm happy to help, just ask.Hey, it's Kreuzberg :)
Hey, it's Kreuzberg :)
The underground station Kottbusser Tor and the stop of the Metro Bus #29 are five minutes walking distance By public transport you are in a few minutes either at Alexanderplatz, former Checkpoint Charlie and it's museum, Jewish Museum, to the Hackescher Markt, Unter den Linden, the Ku-Damm and the Memorial Church, Potsdamer Platz and or the Museum Island. For guests arriving by car there is easy parking right outside in front of the house.
And for the brave of you: I also have two new bike to rent (8€ p. day/bike with quantity discount and incl. a Berlin biking map) :)
Other Things to Note
Since 1.1.2014 Berlin tourists have to pay the city tax, the fee is now included in the price.
First Rule: Have Fun!
Beside that: Please don't bring other people in my house, especially not over night! And please turn off any file-sharing software and do not stream movies on your internet connection, it's very expensive in Germany and I have to charge you...
We had a really great time at Gabriele's place. The room is very spacious and bright; the bed is very comftable and the bath room is huge. The appartment is in a really great area of kreuzberg. Also, Gabriele is a very friendly, open-minded host which can give you valuable advice about the neighbourhood and Berlin. We would definitely stay again at Gabriele's place!
I had a great weekend at Gabriele's place in Kreuzberg. The room was spacious and quiet, and the neighborhood was vibrant and fascinating. Unfortunately, I had to bring work with me, but the combination of a cozy room and interesting escape make for the ideal place to write my thesis. I recommend the neighborhood and Gabriele to anyone looking to visit Berlin, especially those interested in an artistic scene.
I just spen some wonderful days Berlin, partly because of the great accomodation. A nice, silent and clean house in ove of the most interesting neighbourghoods of Berlin. A perfect place to relax and rest after a busy day.
Unfortunately Gabriele could not be there to meet me but did arrange for her neighbour, Nadine to show me everything. Both ladies were marvelous in their hospitality and suggested marvelous sights to see. The room is as described and a pleasure to say in. What is not truly apparent from the description is how great the area is. Great open areas, close to transport and very interesting just watching life pass you as you have you coffee or beer. I have lots more to see in Berlin and could think of no better place to stay. Thank you Gabriele and Nadine for making my time there memorable.
Wonderful apartment with very Berlinien atmosphere in amazing non-sleep street, but very calm inside and trees near the window
