About this listing
A very nice, bright, sunny, comfortable, big apartment. Plenty of room to relax, on a quiet street, less than 2 mi to Venice Beach, 20 min to Hollywood, 10 minutes to Santa Monica, 15 min to LAX & freeways. Great natural light, & perfect location.
Very spacious 1BR/1BA apartment with lots of room to relax and kick your feet up!
I am an artist and touring musician, so my house reflects a passion for music and travel. :-)
The apartment is just over 800 sq ft, and it only has one bed, but there is a large couch and I have a futon that can be laid out if more people need somewhere to sleep. If you want to try and squeeze, you could sleep 4 people in here.
Whole apartment is yours!
Nice little balcony to have your morning coffee and enjoy the sunshine.
I'm just getting into cooking, so you'll have access to a full kitchen with everything you'd need.
Laundry on site. Runs on quarters.
Full Wifi and on the TV you have access to Roku, (website hidden) Chromecast with Netfilx, Hulu, MLB package, Amazon on demand, HBOgo, etc...
With free Wireless Internet and only a 15 minute drive from LAX airport this is an ideal hotel alternative for business travelers too!
Don’t have a car or don’t want to drive? No problem! The apartment is located:
- 1.5 miles from the shopping and restaurants on trendy Abbott Kinney Blvd
- 2 miles to the famous Venice Canals
- A 30 minute walk to Venice Beach and Muscle Beach
- Less than 10 minutes from Santa Monica and Marina Del Rey with access to local buses nearby
If you do have a car FREE STREET PARKING is readily available!
**I will have one closet locked where my guitars and music equipment will be stored. Everything else is yours to use!
Interaction with Guests
I will try to be present there for you to check in and out, if not I will arrange the keys for you and be in touch as much as you'd like. :-)
Mar Vista is a beautiful neighborhood filled with palm trees, bike paths, and tons of cool restaurants and shops nearby. The best part of Mar Vista is it's proximity to Venice Beach, Santa Monica, and Culver City which are all within a couple miles. (An uber to the bars in Santa Monica is around $12. Venice and Culver are only about $6)
Downtown LA and Hollywood are close as well. Only 15-20 minutes without traffic. Getting to and from LAX (15 min drive) is the best part, since I (like you) travel a lot. ;-)
There are bus stops on Venice blvd which is about 50 yards from my front door.
FREE Parking on street is no problem, sometimes covered parking may be available for no charge.
An uber to LAX from my house is around $15.
Other Things to Note
I have a bike that will be available if you'd like to use it. There are also tons of bike rental companies down by the beach.
The neighborhood and surrounding apartments have lots of families with kids so there are sometimes children playing and laughing. Which is cool...when you're in the mood. Also, some of the neighbors will be loud with company once in a while, but I've never had a problem with it. And it usually doesn't go past 10 or 11pm. Just wanted to give you a heads up. Generally, it's a really quiet spot. :-)
The walls are thin at my apartment complex. It never bothers me (I sleep like a rock), but I just wanted to give a heads up. You can definitely hear conversations from surrounding apartments.
Also, there is no A/C in the apartment. Which is no problem 90% of the time. But on the rare occasion it gets hot, I just keep the windows closed and blinds shut so no hot air and/or sun gets in to heat the place up. Hope that helps!
Sorry no pets. Smoking is allowed, but you must go out the gate into the back alley, or on the street in front of the complex.
It's a very quiet neighborhood and street filled with families, so no parties or loud music after 10pm.
I am a full-time musician. I tour around the West Coast and am gone a lot, so my place is available quite often.
I went to college at Cal Poly SLO, and studied accounting and finance. (I hope I never have to use my degree! haha)
Born in San Francisco, CA, and raised in Folsom/Sacramento.
I love travelling, golf, music (obviously), volleyball, and riding bike around the beach area.
I've been to Europe, SE Asia, Central and South America, and I'm always looking for the next spot to travel to. If you have some good recommendations, please share!
I also love going to comedy shows in the area, and there always seems to be a good one near downtown or Hollywood. I recommend it while you're in town.
