I rent an upstairs suite which has three bedrooms, a living room, and one full bathroom. The kitchen/dining room for continental breakfast (which is shared with me) is downstairs. Please see my pictures. My fee includes a 12% occupancy tax.
I love my mid-century modern home. I've decorated it with early 60's furniture and decor. The three upstairs bedrooms (two queen beds, one double) are available to rent. The space can comfortably accommodate 6 people. There's also an upstairs sitting room with TV and games, and an upstairs bathroom. I live in a downstairs suite and use the downstairs bath and kitchen. I serve coffee, tea, juice, toast and jam, yogurt, and granola in the mornings. Come join me and I'll tell you what I know about Sonoma County. My house is near the Joe Rodota bike trail if your a cycling enthusiast, and near the intersection of the east-west and the north-south freeways in Sonoma County if you're driving: really an ideal location from which to explore the coast, Wine Country, and the Redwoods.
Everything listed above, and I have a patio out back.
Interaction with Guests
I love to chat with new people, and I'm in retail, so I hope to be sensitive to each guest's level of desired interaction. It's entirely up to you.
The neighborhood is semi-rural, in a part of Sonoma County annexed by the city of Santa Rosa about a dozen years ago. My house is next to a housing development put in about 10 years ago, but my actual neighborhood is old Sonoma County becoming slowly gentrified. There's a junkyard (!) around the corner about a half mile away, and several small houses being slowly fixed up. I have a 400-year-old oak tree on my half-acre property, and the street is a seldom-traveled dog-leg. Quiet, but close enough to the freeway to get you around Sonoma County easily.
There is a bus stop about a half-mile away, but really the area is more conducive to automobile travel. I have plenty of off-street parking in my U-shaped driveway.
Other Things to Note
The AirBnB site won't let me show that there are three bedrooms unless I list as an entire house or apartment. I live in another part of the house, but there are three bedrooms available for guests, and one bathroom. Hope this helps.
I hope you'll feel at home in my home, and be respectful of the space. I don't allow smoking or pets. I don't want the house to be rented for parties. I have a $500.00 security deposit to cover any damages due to bad decisions or negligence on the part of the guest(s). This would include but is not limited to stoppage of plumbing pipes, setting off alarms in off-limits area of house, breakage of windows, etc. These things rarely, if ever, happen, but just in case, I need to be covered. Thanks for understanding.
What a wonderful stay! Marta is so thoughtful and warm heart. My husband needs some docs urgently and his friend has to send the docs through FedEx. Marta helped us to collect them and gave to us. Thinking we just stayed there for two nights, with such tight time, everything has to be accurate. Thanks so much, Marta! Besides the amazing host, the house is artistic style, comfy and clean. We will definitely recommend to others!
It was a wonderful stay. Needed this relaxing trip. Marta was so nice and let us use her kitchen for dinner and the dining area is perfect. Love the Le Creuset cookwares! Had some great conversations with Marta as well.
Such a wonderful stay. Marta was super nice and helped us all wake up with coffee and breakfast. The space was clean and comfortable, with an intentional retro feel. We had a great night.
Marta's house is great and Marta is soooooo welcoming. The neighborhood is quiet and has country view. Also the facilities in the house are perfect. The bed, the pillow and the quilt are all very comfortable.
My friends and I had to get up early at 6AM to attend the Half Marathon Racing, and Marta even get up before 6AM to prepare breakfast for use! She is very sweet!
We enjoyed everything in the house and in the stay. Highly recommend Marta and her house!
Marta is an amazing host. She is really nice and welcomed us warmly. The place is great and the rooms are super comfy. In the morning she spent some time with us and put up some breakfast for us to enjoy! I highly recommend you to stay there if you are planning on spending a few days in the wine county. My family from Europe had a great time! Thanks again Marta!
Marta warmly welcomed us in her place and showed us around. The place is really cute and quiet and we had a great stay. Really happy to go back!
This place is great, especially for a group. Private 3-bedroom suite with sitting area, shared kitchen and living room, and the host Marta, who is about the nicest person you'd want to meet. Perfect Air BnB blend: great place to stay and a person you were glad to have met.
I've sold vintage clothing for a living my whole adult life, for 31 years at the same location in the historic district of Santa Rosa, Railroad Square. I love having parties and hosting my friends for dinner and fun evenings, and think it's about time I widened my reach to include travelers I don't already know. When I travel, I look for locally owned and hosted bed and breakfast places. I love the interchange of ideas that happens over coffee and continental breakfast. I'd love for you to visit and let me help you have a great experience of beautiful Sonoma County.
