About this listing

A lovely newbuilt house in a gorgeous location. Mountains all around and big south facing conservatory and garden. See the sun rise and set here in Croi Danu, and in between, enjoy all the beautiful day trips that Kerry has to offer.

The space

This is a beautifully finished house, with three good sized bedrooms - 2 ensuite - a large living room, a big fully appointed kitchen/diner opening into a 15ftx15ft conservatory that brings the outside in. The whole living area of the house is full of light. The thing that I love about this place is that you start the day with breakfast, drinking in the changing light on the mountains and at the end of your day out, it is lovely to come back to the quiet and stillness here and watch the sun setting as you sip a glass of wine in the conservatory!

Guest access

There is ample space for parking several cars here. The whole house and garden is yours to enjoy.

Interaction with guests

I will mostly be available to answer any questions you may have about the house, the area, possible excursions and helpful contacts in the area. If I am away, I will ensure that someone else is available to help. But above all I will leave you to make yourselves at home here in your own way.

Other things to note

Kerry is one of the most incredibly beautiful and magical, mystical places to visit in Ireland, giving you mountains, lakes, rivers and the wild Atlantic to feast your senses on.

Oh my gosh!! Where to start? Shayla greeted us warmly with delicious soda bread, fruit and yogurt. The Sunshine House is exactly as described! And more! Spacious, outstanding views and impeccably clean. We could not have stayed at a more perfect home for our family. Shayla provided a box of toys for our two-year-old grand daughter. Ava loved the toys and it made our stay so much easier. She also provided wonderful cds that prompted "dance parties" in the sun room with Ava daily! I recommend the Sunshine House strongly! Book it!

This is a lovely property with amazing views. Shayla was a very welcoming host. We were travelling with young children and this property probably isn't overly suitable for young families - lots of vases, collectables etc around with potential to be accidentally damaged - we had to move it all away. However, Shayla did kindly leave toys and floor mats for the kids! The house also has a lot of house rules - its not a relaxed or laid back set-up. On the plus side, the house is huge and has fantastic views of the beautiful Kerry scenery. Its very close to town and roads connecting to all the sites in Kerry. Shayla had left lots of food, milk etc. and had everything you might need for cooking in the house plus restaurant and take-away recommendations.

The Sunshine a House is a wonderful place. The large spaces and extraordinary level of attention paid to details to ensure comfort, mean that our stay there was absolutely perfect. Shayla clearly prioritizes the comfort and satisfaction of her guests. The location, surroundings and views are incredible. I would definitely book there again, if I were coming to Kerry.

Our stay at the Subshine House was everything we hoped it would be. It was a great location, only a short drive to Killarney, and centrally located on the Ring of Kerry. The small town in Killorglin was great because it had all the essentials but was not as touristy as Killarney. Shayla was very attentive and helpful.

Thank you for your kind words Sarah. I am glad that you and your family had such a good time here - hope that your trip home went ok. Sorry that the wifi didn't work in the bedrooms - you should have said. It is usually ok. The booster probably needed rebooting, which I could have done for you. Warm regards, Shayla

Shayla's home, conveniently located in the ring of Kerry is a wonderful place to enjoy a vacation. The home is spacious, modern and furnished with all the essentials you would need to live comfortably throughout your stay. Shayla did a great job communicating with us, and even offered fresh local yogurt and wine upon arrival. We couldn't have asked for anything else. Great value!

Shayla was so helpful in telling us where to go during our Ring of Kerry trip. She provided maps and suggestions. The property was beautiful. Tons of space, with beautiful views of the mountains. She provided delicious local food for breakfast. The house is eco friendly so if your not used to compost and recycling its a little adjustment, and she is specific on house rules (only eat in kitchen, where to put the trash, strip the beds before you leave, etc.). The water is also a little brown given that it's most likely well water. But I would highly suggest this property and shayla was an amazing host.

A Killarney native, I have lived in Killorglin for just over 2 years. I have built this house and a Therapy Centre here - finished August 2013 - so that I can have a beautiful space to to live in, to share with friends and guests and to practice my therapeutic work. I lived in London for many years and then in Cork for many more, before moving back to my native Kerry. I choose this location for it's panoramic views of the mountains all around, which change hour by hour, and for it's large private garden space, which I am slowly developping. I love my work, walking in nature, reading, travel and meeting people from different cultures to share experiences. I love nature's beauties and telling people about the loveliness of Kerry. I enjoy delicious healthy food, lots of walking - especially by the sea - and a glass of good wine. I love to sing and I sing in a local choir. When I travel, I like independent travelling, self catering, the choice to relate or not, as the mood takes me, so I offer that to my guests too - freedom of making your own food, non-intrusive care and comfort. Do your own thing - & I'm available if you need any information, to help in any way I can to make your visit more enjoyable. While I am definitely not fluent, I can get by in French, Spanish and Italian - enough to help with everyday things, but not philosophical discussion!
My life motto -" Life is a mystery to be lived, not a problem to be solved!"
