Privacy is the only true luxury; experience the simple farm life surrounded by nature, fresh air and peace. This unique cottage was built in the 1960’s to accommodate farm laborer families and recently renovated to bring you back to basics with rustic living and an oh-so-welcome touch of comfort. Great for romantic escapes, photography, bird watching and nature enthusiasts.

The space
Indigenous fauna and flora surround this spacious three bedroom cottage. It is located on a non-working farm situated 2km out of town, which ensures a quiet escape from a rushed and demanding life. Privacy is guaranteed from check-in to check-out, however a wandering deer or family dog might come say hallo. Your closest neighbours will be the owners who live 800m away and are reachable in case of a “out of wine” or similar type emergency. Tastefully furnished Cape Dutch style antiques with local art spread throughout, combining old & new in a special way. Here you are encouraged to be yourself; have a party with loud music or enjoy the quiet.
The large veranda with barbecue area, overlooking the Salt River and valley, is fully equipped for an evening outside. Please provide your own firewood, alternatively you are welcome to source it yourself from the area surrounding the cottage. There is ample seating which include a day bed for lazy lounging.
The open-plan living room has a television and home entertainment system. We regret there is no satellite reception here as we aim to be a digital escape, but we provide a selection of music, movies and books to suit a variety of tastes for those rainy days in.
The kitchen is equipped with basic self-catering necessities and a little bit extra which we hope will have you pleasantly surprised. A picnic basket and blanket is included which you can take on a wander through the fields and enjoy a day in the sunshine.
All bedrooms are tastefully yet simply furnished with comfort and relaxation in mind. There are two double rooms, fittingly named the Country Room & Modern Room, and one Twin room connected to the Modern Room. The Modern Room and Twin Room together is perfect for families as they are joined but divided by a door for privacy, while the Modern Room and Country Room individually are great for couples. You can choose your preferred style upon arrival.
There is a lot of space for car parking on the side of the cottage, but we regret none under cover.

Guest access
Depending on your booking arrangements, some bedrooms might not be accessible as the charge is dependent on a per-room base. For example if your booking is for a couple, you will choose your room and the rest will be made unavailable.

You may wander on the farm as you please, but not access the other buildings on the farm. If you are not fond of animals, please stay clear of the owner's house as the dogs (and chickens) are free-range.

Other things to note
Please note that there is no wifi available, as well as no television channel reception.

During your stay
Privacy is guaranteed throughout your stay. This cottage is next to our private farm road so cars might pass, but not frequently.

As the dogs are free-roaming they might come say hello and try to win your sympathy (and food) by giving you the puppy look, do not fall for their charms, this is an old trick. You have the full right to chase them away or contact us to remove them.
