We love people and respect their privacy.
We bought the house close to 25 years ago and love the neighborhood for it safety.
Walking distance to Farmer and the Cook and there is a cute trolley to go to town.
Other Things to Note
We have a small fridge, an electric kettle and some cutlery for you in our guest room.
And Netflix !!
My big request is to turn off the AC at 10pm as I really enjoy sleeping with the Ojai silence.
I was so in love with my experience here. Liz is great, and immediately made me feel at home in her guest house. Upon arriving I was gifted a bowl of tangerines that were so sweet and yummy. Her place had everything I needed. The outdoor claw foot bathtub was the highlight of my stay. I took a bath both nights under the stars! Thank you Liz for your amazing spot! I can't wait to come back:)
Had a simply wonderful experience staying in Liz and Jeff's guesthouse - it was exactly what I needed to rest and rejuvenate my spirit. They had great communication with me during the reservation process, and were very helpful in getting me acquainted with Ojai by providing suggestions for local eateries, great farmer's market, hiking trails, and scenic drives. The bowl of fresh tangerines left at my door was a lovely touch making me feel welcomed and connected to the natural beauty of the Ojai valley. Their guesthouse was clean, quiet, and cozy (the bed is so comfortable), and the outdoor bathtub is totally awesome. I hated to say good-bye to this beautiful place, but hope to return another time.
Beautiful little unit in a quiet neighborhood. Liz and her husband were very friendly and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable too (memory foam). There were yummy snacks waiting for us in the room when we arrived. The outdoor bath was a very lovely experience as well. Be aware that the outdoor bath is your only means of bathing - there is no shower/bath in the restroom. That didn't bother us though since the weather was nice and the area is pretty private. I would definitely recommend this spot those looking for a getaway.
Such a beautiful sanctuary! Loved the outside bathtub and Liz was great! Very comfortable hosts and place to stay. It was a last minute booking and she was able to accommodate me. I loved the area great coffee shop and restaurant near by. I love that the house was detached and the outside patio was nice for tea time and viewing the beautiful trees. I can't think of a better place to stay while I am in the area! I will for sure be back! I highly recommend it!!!! :-)
Liz and Jeff are wonderful, welcoming hosts. The cottage is a separate private building in their garden. Quiet, clean room, and firm memory foam bed. Excellent library of books along with seasonal oranges were much appreciated by us both. Loved bathing in the outside bathtub under their gorgeous old oak. Within a few minutes walk from great restaurants in Meiners Oaks -- Farmer & the Cook for breakfast and The Ranch House for dinner.
One word: Heaven.
This very private little guest house is nestled in the part of the Ojai community called Meiners Oaks. Aptly called, because it used to be one of the biggest oak groves in the USA. There are still many of these beautiful oak trees standing. One of which you stare up at as you lounge in the outdoor claw foot bath tub that Liz has set up in the private patio attached to the unit.
The bed is super comfy.
The area is quiet at night.
And there is a bidet!!
I highly recommend this place. Only, I kinda just want it for myself :)
One bit of advice, if you are planning on bathing in the outdoor bath tub, bring some slippers or flip flops. The leaves on the trees above are the kind that stick into your foot.
We enjoyed staying in Liz's rustic guest house that looked just like the pictures she posted. She and Jeff were easy to talk to and they have several interests that complimented ours (vegetable gardening, manzanitas, building codes, travel).
The neighborhood has mixed building styles which we enjoyed and a (plant) nursery, small market/restaurant, and used bookstore which we enjoyed. It is easy and safe to walk to many places, but you would need a car to get to Ojai as it is somewhat isolated from bigger towns.
Although there is no microwave in the room as past guests never used it, there is a large electric kettle for boiling water for tea or soup. The room also has a mini-refrigerator.
Thank you, Liz, for providing a quiet, serene place away from the hustle and bustle of our urban sprawl.
Jeff and i met skiing in Switzerland in 1978. Jeff is from California and I am from France. Ojai is our home since 1985. Travel was at the root of our relationship, so it is really natural for us to welcome travelers and share with them the beauty of our home town.
