  • I had a wonderful stay at Elsbeth's loft. The loft was exactly what I was looking for - private, quiet and spacious, and I also was able to use the kitchen in the house to prepare dinner. The bedding and bathroom were very nice. Wifi in the room and DSTV with many channels. Breakfast was great and the coffee superb. Thanks Elsbeth for a great stay - I highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet home away from home in nothern Johannesburg. The patio off of the main house shown in the photo is amazing - sadly the Joburg weather was uncharacteristically not cooperating, but I imagine that having breakfast out there when not raining or cold would be fabulous.

  • Our stay with Elsbeth and René was fantastic, exactly the way I imagine airbnb should always be. Wonderful place, very kind people with whom we had the pleasure to share diner and breakfast. Surely, if we come back to Johannesburg, we will go there

  • Elsbeth home was amazing and truly added to my experience in Jo-Burg! The space is very private as it has it's own entrance, the wi-fi works great, and the room has a nice, warm feeling. Elsbeth is also very hospitable, and accommodating. I was very grateful for a lot of her help in regards to traveling around. Lastly, if you are a big breakfast person--then you will love staying here! The breakfast was beyond impressive!

  • I had the pleasure of staying at Elsbeth and Rene's lovely guest house on
their lovely (email hidden)d enjoyed it so much that I've recommended it to
numerous friends and acquaintances. The guest house is private and
uniquely South African, with luxurious amenities in a classic thatched
structure. One feels that one is in a vast natural garden when in fact I
was within 20 minutes of all my important meetings.

The hosts are a delight and revel in art, wines and good conversation- but
also left me to my own devices in a perfect mix of hosting and privacy. I
found the breakfasts of cheeses, fresh fruit, juices and strong coffee so
irresistible that I reversed my schedule, turning my mornings into a
sybaritic routine of lying in, leisurely breakfasts and internet news
(courtesy of more the ample internet).

This is the ideal AirBnB experience - a chance to see new a place and make
new friends.. You will enjoy this very special lodging!

  • I had a lovely time at Kingfisher Lodge. Elsbeth made me feel very welcome and took care of my every need. The breakfast was extremely generous and spending time with Elsbeth, when I was not working, was a total pleasure. The room is fabulous and had it not been winter I am sure I would have enjoyed the pleasures of the pool as well. Altogether a wonderful experience - I will definitely be back!

  • Another AirBnB jewel. The place is magical and the breakfasts are divine. The hostess is very friendly and helpful. If you're into astrology, pottery, or anything of a magical/supernatural/spiritual nature, you'll have plenty to talk about.
The room is well decorated and a wonderful place to wind down after a day of activities.
    Has two beautiful dogs. :)
