Our lovely bed and breakfast is situated near to the Museum District and Vondelpark in the popular and vibrant 19th/20th Century residential neighborhood of Oud-Zuid.
From our bed and breakfast you can easily access the famous Museum Quarter with the Van Gogh Museum, Stedelijk Museum and Rijksmuseum. The major museums make this area a unique travelers paradise. Moreover, you will find here many luxury boutiques, cafés and the majestic concert hall, the world famous Concertgebouw from 1888. Because of its highly regarded acoustics, this concert hall is considered one of the finest venues for classical music worldwide. Leidseplein is right at the other end of the Vondelpark. This place is synonymous for nightlife till dawn. At Leidseplein you find the Stadsschouwburg, which is the main theatre, several cinemas, many bars, clubs and restaurants, as well as the famous music temples Paradiso and Melkweg.
Our accommodation is positioned very convenient and a relaxed, half hour walk through Vondelpark will take you to the high-cultural cluster at Museumplein and/or to the very heart of the entertainment area at Leidseplein.
In the surrounding neighborhood you can find everything that makes your weekend break in Amsterdam comfortable and enjoyable. In walking distance there is a wide selection of cafés and delicious take-away. Restaurants range from Thai, Japanese, Indonesian food, to Brazil and Surinam kitchen, a Kosher restaurant and various Italian places. There is an outstanding wine bar next door and a cocktail bar at the corner. In summer one might prefer the beer garden at Vondelpark (at the park entrance across the street). Walking down the street, there are many convenience stores including a well-stocked supermarket (during the week open until 10pm, on Sundays until 7pm), a couple of small grocery stores, several bakeries, an eco-food-store, an exquisite small corner shop with the most delicious ice-cream, and very important - a late night shop that is open until 1am.
Our bed and breakfast offers 2 guest rooms for 2 persons each on the second floor of our private house. One room has the size of 25 m2 (No.1), the other 16 m2 (No.2). The rooms are offered separately, but can be requested together.
This offer concerns the smaller room of 16 m2. The room is modestly furnished with some 1970s / 1980s furniture. It has a French bed with a good matrass. The two rooms share the bathroom which is equipped with a bath tub, washing stand and a toilet. The room has an extra washing stand. Wireless internet is available.
Generally we don’t do breakfast and it is not included in the room rates. There are however two very recommendable cafés in close proximity, which open early in the morning. Using our kitchen for making coffee or tea is always possible.
Our family and child friendly accommodation has been visited by the authors of the German DUMONT travel guides (Amsterdam. DUMONT Reise-Taschenbuch and Amsterdam. DUMONT direkt) and is recommended in the 2012 and 2014 edition.
Our bed and breakfast is easily accessible with public and private transport. The tram lines no.1 and 2 have stops in close proximity to our house and connect straight to the Central Station at the IJ-embankment. The Connexxion bus no.197 connects straight to the 12.5 km distant international airport Schiphol - the ride takes 20 minutes and the closest bus stop to our house is Haarlemmermeerstation. For those coming by car, the motorway exits S106-S107-S108 are very close to our accommodation.
Street parking in our area costs €3 per hour or €21,60 per day (Mo-Sa; Su free parking). Alternatively, in close vicinity to our house, at the northern side of the 1928 Olympic Stadium is a municipal park and ride facility (P+R). Parking in the P+R facility after 10am during the week and during the weekend costs €1 per 24 hours. Parking during the week before 10am costs €8 for the first 24 hours and then €1 per 24 hours. You may leave your car up to 96 hours (4 days) in the garage. Since this is a park and ride facility and the low-priced parking is connected to the use of public transport, it is important that the last check-in with the public transport chip card has been in the center area. If this is not the case, the regular parking fee per hour is applied. The public transport ticket (OV chip card) must be purchased separately at the ticket machine available in the garage.
Room reservations should require a minimal stay of 2 nights with a maximum of 28 nights. Standard, the check-in time starts at 2pm. Check-out time is until 11am. If the accommodation is not occupied you can get the room early on your date of arrival and check out late on your date of departure. You can always bring in your luggage early on the day of arrival and leave your luggage with us for the remaining of the day of departure until 10pm.

Perfect! That's all I can say about Holger; his son, Viktor, and their house! Great location, big room, delicious bed and perfect bathroom! There is nothing not to like it in Holger's house! Its awesome!
You will love their cats: Kiwi and Highway! The blankets are wonderful for the cold weather in Amsterdam, we were warmly welcomed by Viktor, who is a smart and nice guy, and we would definitely stay there again! We recommend!
Staying with Holger was just great! The location is in walking distance to the main center of Amsterdam but not that much crowded with cute cafes and shops nearby. Holger is a perfect host who gave us a very warm welcome. Talking with him was very inspiring. The room itself is nice and bright and has a comfy bed.
On our arrival we were met by our hosts son Victor. He was every mothers dream - welcoming, charming, helpful - he ticked all the boxes! Holger, our host was a bit too old to be evey mothers dream but he was equally very welcoming and helpful! The house was perfectly situated - central to everything with the beautiful Vondels Park on its doorstep. Our room was clean, warm and comfortable. The bed was super comfortable. We definitely enjoyed our stay with Holger and Victor.
Holger was the perfect host, made us feel really welcome and gave us loads of information on the best ways to get around and things to do during our stay making our trip more relaxed. The house was beautiful and we loved the room, perfect for our mini break. Great location, beautiful walk through vondel park to get into town, one of the highlights of our stay. Would definitely reccomend.
Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und Holger war ein richtig netter Gastgeber. Beim nächsten Amsterdambesuch kommen wir gerne wieder.
Holger is a really nice host. He took the time to show us what we can do and visit in Amsterdam. The room is very clean and tidy (+ his cats are lovely). I would definitely recommend him!

Live responsible and enjoy life. Being an architect and urban designer I very much love visiting cities and meeting people from different backgrounds and countries. Isn't it fantastic that until now, we had guests from more than 40 countries?
