Planning on visiting NYC or need a temporary place between moves? Come for a stay in our guest room!
Located in the historic Crown Heights neighborhood, our brownstone apartment is conveniently situated across Prospect Park from the Park Slope area and within walking distance of the Brooklyn Museum of Art, The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, The Brooklyn Children's Museum and the newly restored Brooklyn Public Library(Main Branch).
The area has an eclectic taste which reflects the diversity of cultures inhabiting it. Crown Heights has some lovely architecture and a variety of peoples and shops, ranging from variously hatted and top-coated Orthodox Jewish residents to vegan Rastafarian Afro-Caribbean restaurants and college students.
The guest room is quite cozy and has everything that you might need, including a travel adapter for your electronic devices and a hair dryer. Currently there is a very comfortable Full size bed and a nice old 1940's era desk, chair and lamp as well as a bookshelf and clothing rack. You would be sharing the common spaces (kitchen, living room and bathroom) with me and possibly one other guest, as I have one other guest room..
So, why is this better than staying in a Hostel? We offer lot's of Free amenities: Secure Wireless internet, free state-of-the-art laundry machines and a kitchen with great tools and culinary gadgets. For all you shoppers, the bathroom has a weight scale that you can use to weigh your luggage before heading off to the airport!
In the backyard there is a small garden with a beautiful row of Rose bushes and tomato plants. You can park safely back here because it is fenced in, gated and locked! We also have bicycles(and helmets) that you can use to ride around the neighborhood.
As an added bonus, we are half a block from the Subway! The 2,4 and 5 trains all run express into downtown Brooklyn and Manhattan. There are also several buses nearby that run towards Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Bushwick.
Discounted rates available for longer stays as well. Just ask :)
Daniel was a great host!
Stayed with Daniel for 10 days while finishing a rotation as a medical student at nearby Methodist Hospital. I had a lot of quiet and privacy, which allowed me to study and get plenty of sleep at normal hours. Was a very homey spot and extremely comfortable. Short walk to the 2 train on President street made getting around very easy. Daniel even helped me shovel my car out of the snow the day before leaving. Overall awesome stay! I highly recommend it to anyone staying in NY for short term.
The room at Daniel's was very cozy and comfortable, and quite close to subways to take you into Manhattan. Daniel was an extremely nice host and responded very quickly to any questions I had before and during my stay. Being able to do laundry in the apartment was also a plus!
Daniel is such a caring, patient, reliable and giving person and so he is as a host. He was just wonderful in everything and well prepared for all our needs. He always had a cup of tea for us when we turned home and he even showed us around the neighourhood and made it easy for us to get some orientation. He was always helping out, had perfect reccomendations and let us know the hidden treasures of NYC, which we are super grateful about!
I can totally reccomend to stay at his place!
Probably you can guess how much he takes care of his guests from the discriptions of the rooms and how sweet he is from the all reviews. And actually he is !! His hospitality is excellent and amazing! He made my first trip in NYC fabulous one and I simply appreciate it. So, if you want to stay in a simple and clean cozy private room with a great friendly host, there is no reason to choose other accommodation ;)
I needed a place to stay while apartment searching. Dan was very nice and accommodating. The bed is very comfortable and the convenience of the subway made for an excellent stay.
Daniel was an excellent host and the room was cozy and clean. Highly recommend.
This was my first AirBnB experience and it was wonderful. Daniel was easily accessible and responded quickly to my questions. He was very understanding of my travel delay when I came to check in (~ 30 minutes due to not being familiar with the subway system.) He offered me a coffee and we chatted for awhile and listened to one of his records from his massive collection. Such a welcoming and caring personality, he helped me with directions in the city and suggestions for places to visit.
The room itself was just as described - cozy, comfortable, clean. The apartment is very convenient to the subway and I felt safe walking around in the neighborhood alone. This place was just what I needed - convenient, safe, affordable with a wonderful host!
Thanks for helping me have a great weekend in Brooklyn!
Daniel is a fantastic host and staying with him definitely was one of the highlights of this trip. It was great to come back after a day's visit and spend time talking and exchanging experiences and points of view. It was like a home away from home... Daniel was very helpful in every way he could and is thoughtful to his guest while leaving you the privacy you want.
The room is good, comfortable and there is everything you need. I highly recommend you to stay with him. I will again next time!
Daniel is very friendly, and very helpful. The room is simple but it's just what we need. The neighborhood is quiet.
Very good price / quality ratio.
