Planning on visiting NYC or need a temporary place between moves? Come for a stay in our guest room!

Located in the historic Crown Heights neighborhood, our brownstone apartment is conveniently situated across Prospect Park from the Park Slope area and within walking distance of the Brooklyn Museum of Art, The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, The Brooklyn Children's Museum and the newly restored Brooklyn Public Library(Main Branch).

The area has an eclectic taste which reflects the diversity of cultures inhabiting it. Crown Heights has some lovely architecture and a variety of peoples and shops, ranging from variously hatted and top-coated Orthodox Jewish residents to vegan Rastafarian Afro-Caribbean restaurants and college students.

The guest room is quite cozy and has everything that you might need, including a travel adapter for your electronic devices and a hair dryer. Currently there is a very comfortable Full size bed and a nice old 1940's era desk, chair and lamp as well as a bookshelf and clothing rack. You would be sharing the common spaces (kitchen, living room and bathroom) with me and possibly one other guest, as I have one other guest room..

So, why is this better than staying in a Hostel? We offer lot's of Free amenities: Secure Wireless internet, free state-of-the-art laundry machines and a kitchen with great tools and culinary gadgets. For all you shoppers, the bathroom has a weight scale that you can use to weigh your luggage before heading off to the airport!

In the backyard there is a small garden with a beautiful row of Rose bushes and tomato plants. You can park safely back here because it is fenced in, gated and locked! We also have bicycles(and helmets) that you can use to ride around the neighborhood.

As an added bonus, we are half a block from the Subway! The 2,4 and 5 trains all run express into downtown Brooklyn and Manhattan. There are also several buses nearby that run towards Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Bushwick.

Discounted rates available for longer stays as well. Just ask :)

  • Daniel was a friendly and easy going host. He was great at communicating before I arrived and was very helpful when I stayed. Room was clean, tidy and equipped with everything I needed. It's a chilled house and easy transport links. Recommended.

  • Daniel was a great host! Unfortunately, we had a very busy schedule, so we we didn't run into him very often, but he was very helpful and hospitable. The room and the apartment as a whole is very cozy and we would definitely stay there again. The apartment is no more than a block from the subway, which made getting in and out of the city very convenient. Additionally, he has a large subway map in the kitchen for those who are new to navigating through the city. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and wish it could have been longer. Will definitely look into returning here in the future.

  • Daniel is a great host: extremely helpful, kind, friendly and caring. He gave me advice and many suggestions about NYC and responded very quickly to all my questions. The house is conveniently located in Brooklyn (the Botanic Gardens, Prospect Park, the Public Library and the Brooklyn Museum of Art are within walking distance) and BAM, an excellent multi-arts center, is a few stops away.
The very close subway and the free laundry in the apartment are a plus.

  • Stayed with Daniel for 10 days while finishing a rotation as a medical student at nearby Methodist Hospital. I had a lot of quiet and privacy, which allowed me to study and get plenty of sleep at normal hours. Was a very homey spot and extremely comfortable. Short walk to the 2 train on President street made getting around very easy. Daniel even helped me shovel my car out of the snow the day before leaving. Overall awesome stay! I highly recommend it to anyone staying in NY for short term.

  • The room at Daniel's was very cozy and comfortable, and quite close to subways to take you into Manhattan. Daniel was an extremely nice host and responded very quickly to any questions I had before and during my stay. Being able to do laundry in the apartment was also a plus!

  • Daniel is such a caring, patient, reliable and giving person and so he is as a host. He was just wonderful in everything and well prepared for all our needs. He always had a cup of tea for us when we turned home and he even showed us around the neighourhood and made it easy for us to get some orientation. He was always helping out, had perfect reccomendations and let us know the hidden treasures of NYC, which we are super grateful about!
I can totally reccomend to stay at his place!

  • Probably you can guess how much he takes care of his guests from the discriptions of the rooms and how sweet he is from the all reviews. And actually he is !! His hospitality is excellent and amazing! He made my first trip in NYC fabulous one and I simply appreciate it. So, if you want to stay in a simple and clean cozy private room with a great friendly host, there is no reason to choose other accommodation ;)
