Planning on visiting NYC or need a temporary place between moves? Come for a stay in our guest room!
Located in the historic Crown Heights neighborhood, our brownstone apartment is conveniently situated across Prospect Park from the Park Slope area and within walking distance of the Brooklyn Museum of Art, The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, The Brooklyn Children's Museum and the newly restored Brooklyn Public Library(Main Branch).
The area has an eclectic taste which reflects the diversity of cultures inhabiting it. Crown Heights has some lovely architecture and a variety of peoples and shops, ranging from variously hatted and top-coated Orthodox Jewish residents to vegan Rastafarian Afro-Caribbean restaurants and college students.
The guest room is quite cozy and has everything that you might need, including a travel adapter for your electronic devices. Currently there is a very comfortable Full size bed and a nice old 1940's era desk, chair and lamp as well as a bookshelf and clothing rack. You would be sharing the common spaces (kitchen, living room and bathroom) with me and possibly one or 2 other guests, as I have 2 other guest rooms.
So, why is this better than staying in a Hostel? We offer lot's of Free amenities: Secure Wireless internet, free state-of-the-art laundry machines to use and a kitchen with great tools and culinary gadgets. For all you shoppers, the bathroom has a weight scale that you can use to weigh your luggage before heading off to the airport!
In the backyard there is a small garden with a beautiful row of Rose bushes and tomato plants. You can park safely back here because it is fenced in, gated and locked! We also have bicycles(and helmets) that you can use to ride around the neighborhood.
As an added bonus, we are half a block from the Subway! The 2,4 and 5 trains all run express into downtown Brooklyn and Manhattan. There are also several buses nearby that run towards Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Bushwick.
Discounted rates available for longer stays as well. Just ask :)
Everything you'd expect in a home setting is available for you… Clean kitchen and bathroom, a refrigerator, a nice living room and access to my personal treasures: Large music collection, Books, Musical instruments, etcetera.
Interaction with Guests
I like to make people feel at home and welcome, but I also strive to meet each guests individual requirements… If you want to hang out and share a nice conversation or would rather keep to yourself, I'm happy either way. :)
I'm always reachable by cell phone and happy to help with directions or recommendations.
The diversity of people and cultures are what drew me in to this neighborhood Also the fact that it is a family area, which provides a little sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of busy areas like Manhattan.
The 2, 3 and 5 express trains leave from less than half a block from my front door and cover all of your transportation needs.
Basically, I'd like you to feel at home here and treat the place as you would your own. My only real rules are:
-No smoking of anything indoors! You may use the backyard to smoke, as long as you put your cigarette butts in the trash.
-Keep things clean! Wash your dishes and wipe down counters/stove if you have prepared food.
-Recycle! If you are unaware of the importance of recycling by now or are just too lazy to do it, then I might just have to smack you upside the head! ;) PLEASE, recycle all of your paper, cardboard, boxes, bags, cans, juice/milk cartons, plastic and metal. I have clearly marked bins for each in the Kitchen.
-No super loud music/movies/(website hidden) from your laptop, ipod, etc. Use headphones; especially in the early morning or after 11pm in the evening.
The Bad was really cozy. Apartment is good to reach from president street. Daniel was very friendly. Unfortunately I had only 1,5 days in NYC. The only negativ thing was the internet/Wifi Connection was not this reliable I'm used from Germany.
Daniel is great, he told us lots things about where to go and what to do in NYC. His place is quite and clean. He almost prepares everything for the (website hidden) is a good choice for budget trip.
Daniel responded to my request right away. I asked him if he would host an out-of-towner buddy of mine, and Daniel was incredibly accommodating and made sure my friend received a warm welcome and felt right at home. His space is also filled with all kinds of cool things that provides for an inspiring and stimulating environment. This spot comes highly recommended for a chillaxed stay in NYC.
Nous avons passé une semaine fort agréable, chez Daniel qui a été un hôte parfait, très aidant et en même temps discret. La chambre est très calme et située à deux pas du métro.
Je recommande vivement cette cosy room.
Daniel was very responsive and friendly. Any questions I had before arriving and after arrival he helped me with in a kind, respectful manner. I will definitely be returning to this room the next time I want a night out!
Daniel was very accommodating and really down to earth. The room is perfect, good space and very clean. Daniel is very helpful and any questions you have he is more than happy to answer.
I will be staying here for sure when I am back in town!!!
Daniel's very welcoming, accommodating and also just a really kind and engaging conversationalist. Extremely convenient to trains and the neighborhood is great for walking around, too. This was a great place to stay at an incredibly reasonable price.
