Come share my large, sunny 3 bdrm 2 bath flat on the top floor of a newly renovated Victorian/Edwardian building.
Is the best room of the house! It's clean and cheerful with a very comfortable Queen size bed, a chandelier, hardwood floor and a closet. It’s furnished with an antiques and a lounge chair, a night stand/bookcase and a Persian-style rug. There's also a super fast Wi-Fi connection. You'll have soft cotton sheets and 5 pillows to choose from. There's a heater in the room so you can keep the room at the temperature you like. I get fantastic feedback on how comfortable the bed is. You'll be very cozy here.
The bathroom is fully renovated, spotlessly clean and is attached to your room for complete privacy. There are nice cotton towels and a very tall shower head over the tub. You'll also find shampoo, conditioner, body wash, moisturizer and a hair dryer. Bonus: we have endless hot water – you'll never run out!
My home is an interesting, fun, eclectic and comfortable place. It was built in the late 1800's and has the warmth and beauty of Victorian/Edwardian-era features with the advantage of all new renovations. I’ve generally furnished it with antiques (except for the crazy 9' blue couch in the living room). The living, dining and kitchen area is a bright open space with lots of big windows - and because I'm on the top floor it's very airy and bright. it has hardwood floors, central heating and great lighting. The large, modern, eat-in kitchen has a gas stove, dishwasher and microwave - all for your use.. You'll also have a shelf in the pantry and in the fridge. I have a cheerful laundry room with an ironing board (which you're free to use) and an amazing little back deck with 180 degree views.
I'm on the border of 3 neighborhoods: The Castro, Mission- Dolores and Lower Haight. It's a very safe area and terrific for people-watching! With a Walk Score of 98 there are a plethora of cafes, coffee shops, restaurants, markets, entertainment venues and bars surrounding us. We're in one of the better parts of the city and we get more sun than a lot of other areas.
I'm in a superb transportation hub that has a Transit Score of 100! For transit information, go to 511 org trip planner - enter "15th (email hidden)." and then any city landmark - you'll see how quick and easy it is to get everywhere! For example, the Church St. Station is a block away and from there, it takes less than 10 minutes to get downtown. I'll provide a transit card which is good for all public transportation. You’re welcome to load it up and use it while you’re here.
BREAKFAST and MEALS
There'll be fresh fruit in your room when you arrive. You'll have your own shelf in the fridge and in the pantry with eggs, bread, butter, jam, peanut butter, cereals, oatmeal, milk, juice, coffee, tea (black and herbal), sugar and artificial sweetener, snacks and bottled water. Anything you're missing you can buy right across the street at Walgreens or down the block at Safeway.
You're more than welcome to do any cooking you'd like.
Check-in is easy. Let me know the approximate time you'll be here and I'll be here to welcome you warmly and show you around. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. : )
JUST SO YOU KNOW:
• There are 45 stairs to climb (but it’s a charming staircase!)
• Unfortunately there isn’t a parking space and street parking can be difficult. Public transportation is excellent in San Francisco.
• There isn't a TV in the room/house.
• I have cat who's very friendly and will probably sneak into your room if you leave your door open : )
• My housemate Patrick is very nice but mostly keeps to himself.
It's a wonderful place and I love having people here. I think you’ll really enjoy your stay!

Kathy was a superb host. She went above and beyond to make my husband and I feel welcomed and situated in a brand new city. She provided us with maps, guidebooks, and talked us through San Fran's public transportation system! She graciously answered all of our questions and was available throughout our four day stay to clarify/assist in any way, or just to provide lovely conversation!
Kathy's home is stunning. Our room was just as it looked in the pictures, with gorgeous details (down to the chocolates placed on our pillows!), fluffy towels, toiletries, a heated blanket, and more. Paco and Bella, Kathy's two cats, are super sweet and cuddly. They sat with us at breakfast each morning and were a nice reminder of home. Speaking of breakfast, Kathy provided us with cereal, oatmeal, peanut butter, and bread (as well as other snacks), which was such a nice touch that you would just never get in a hotel room. She even asked what kind of milk we drink and bought it for our breakfast/coffee.
Her home is in the perfect location for tourists- close to public transportation but out of the hectic super touristy downtown. We are big walkers, so we walked most places, but also hopped right on the Muni when we wanted a break or to get further downtown. We walked around Haight, the Mission, and the Castro, all of which are a stone's throw from Kathy's front door. There were amazing, off-the-beaten-path food options and bars so close to Kathy's, which was really fun and made our trip much more memorable.
This was our first Air BnB experience, and Kathy really set the bar high. We will absolutely stay with her again should we make our way back out to San Fran, and we will absolutely use Air BnB again after this amazing first experience! Thanks, Kathy, for everything!!
Kathy's place and her hospitality were superb. I can't imagine
a better place to stay in San Francisco. Bob & Rosine
Kathy was amazing host and her care about the guests is wonderful. Everything was very easy and perfect with her. The place and location are great as well. Next underground station is about 150 meters away and shops are also very close.
The bed is very huge and comfortable. The room itself is very nice and peaceful. I enjoyed having breakfast at sunny balcony, with view on the city.
Kathy is very helpful in guiding in the San-Francisco and getting familiar with the city. She is very polite and it is very interesting to talk with her.
I am strongly recommend to stay with her to everyone!
This is a perfect place to stay in San Francisco: the room is very spacious and cozy (and quiet at night), with a big and comfortable bed, and the private bathroom is very convenient. The rest of the big apartment is very clean and the kitchen is fully equipped to prepare any meal. To me, the location is ideal: in a very beautiful and lively neighborhood full of restaurants, unique shops and different kinds of public transportation.
Moreover, Kathy is a superb host! She's very welcoming and accommodating, during my stay she was always making sure that I was OK and had everything I needed. She's super nice and I enjoyed her company - thanks Kathy!!
One last thing: this is the perfect place for animal lovers. Both cats are very cute and well-behaved, but Paco is especially adorable. If you like cats, you'll love him!! :)
Our stay at Kathy's was excellent.
Everything was well prepared for our stay in SF. Kathy had maps and books for us on how to make the most of our trip. And she was always there if we had any questions.
The room is very spacious and has its own ensuite. The bed is so comfortable!
Kathy's home is in a very safe area and it is so easy to get to anywhere in SF by public transport. Her home is very well planned out and furnished marvelously. And we had access to all her appliances, from kitchen to laundry needs.
Kathy is an excellent host. We can't speak highly of her enough. She was welled prepared for our visit and had everything ready for us. She is so nice and friendly and made our stay extremely pleasant.
I would highly recommend Kathy to anyone considering staying in SF.
I loved my stay in San Francisco with Kathy. She was very hospitable and accommodating. I had some flight trouble and had to change the arrival time several time. She was very understanding and let me checked in early due to my flight complication. I would totally recommend her place to anyone. The location is fantastic, extremely convenient to travel around town, great eatery places around, and good night life too.
Kathy made my parents' weeklong trip to San Francisco a wonderful experience. They loved that they had such a comfortable home away from home, and Kathy was always helpful, friendly, and available to us whether we were cooking dinner, playing scrabble, or looking for good walks or restaurant recommendations.
The location is perfect - safe, clean, and with great destinations walking distance as well as via convenient transportation. My parents' favorite walk was to Corona Heights park right nearby. The attached bathroom (well designed and stocked, with a great shower!) is an amazing amenity, and the cats were sweethearts and very affectionate. I live in SF as well, and couldn't wish for a better place to put up my guests when they can't stay with me.
I had a really good experience staying at Kathy's. The appartment is beautiful and so is the room, wich had plenty of space and a very confortable bed. Everything was always clean and tidy.
Kathy is lovely and a great host: she had good advice about where to go and was very helpful. We got to meet her roomate too and he was really nice too.
All in all, it's a great place, I would definitely stay there again!
Kathy is a considerate and consummate host. She really pays attention to details. From a local walking tour guide to nutritious breakfast fixings to labeling how to use any house item that might confuse, Kathy really thinks of everything. The room was private, quiet, and thoughtfully furnished. The kitchen is well equipped. The view from the back terrace is stunning. Centrally located yet peaceful. A great place to stay. Thank you.
Kathy was a great host. Her appartment is exactly what we expected, quiet, cozy and charming. She thought about every small detail, and she knows a lot about the city.
The location was perfect, between The Castro and The mission, there is a lot of Bars / Restaurants / Shops around. We did a lot of things by walk, otherwise, buses and Muni are just 2 minutes away.
