special: local tips from the neighbourhood in the guest book.
Ines was a wonderful host. Her apartment is spacy, a room with a double bed and a small balcony, a nicely furnished living room with a huge table, soundsystem, a bed (which can be used as a third bed or a couch, both was VERY comfy!), another balcony where up to three people can enjoy a nice breakfast to the rising sun or dinner by sunset! Great for coffee and cigarettes as well….
The kitchen is small but has all you need.Kettle, oven, two sinks, spacey fridge and modern stove, even a fruit press… All the basic cooking ingredients like salt or oil are even provided.
But the best part is the bathroom. The sink is huge, there is shower/bath and a washing machine. The shower head is better than in any hotel i'v seen.
Still not convinced? Ines helps you out with everything. (i lost my keys TWICE and got it 12 hours later each time with her being 1000 km away). you can use her bike, and if all that would not be enough, there is a guide for barcelona and welcome cookies waiting for you when you arrive.
The neighborhood is nice and quiet (also a bit boring, if you want to go out be prepared to pay 8-12 € to go home, still worth it in my opinion tough). There is a little market and the metro station is just around the corner. Beach is a 5 minute walk.
There was one thing though. The elevator wasn't working, walking 5 stories up the stairs every time was a good exercise….
This apartment was the 9th vacation apartment we have stayed in, and it brings me no pleasure to state that this is the first we would not be willing to return to. Ines is a nice host and the suggestions book she has is helpful, but between the 6 flights of stairs (over 100 steps), the small cramped kitchen, the major street construction next door, the construction inside the apartment building (which covered the public areas in a thick layer of dust, including the bicycles which we were hoping to use) and no closet space, it be hard to recommend the apartment. It was made more difficult by our bad luck of visiting when her regular maid was on vacation. Her temporary maid was not there when we got there and it took almost 3 hours to finally get in (we said we would arrive by 2:30, but did not get there until 2:45, so the maid left and it was up to us to find a phone, track her down and convince her to come, haggle over her potential cabfare and open the door for us). The maid left a refrigerator full of rotting food and the coffee maker had a thick carpet of mold inside, making it unusable. The hot water maker was in the same state. That said, we loved the location, as it is 15 minutes from the beach (which is a nice beach), close to the metro and in a great neighborhood. The back balcony is charming and the bathroom was large with excellent water pressure.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Ines's apartment for 4 days. We had never been to Barcelona and we were not sure what it would be like. Overall we had a great stay at the apartment despite the climb up to the fifth floor!
A very nice apartment close to the beach which was great.
We had a great time, thank you Ines! :)
I stayed here with my boyfriend and a friend.. she slept on the couch/bed which was fine. Comfy apartment, we had great time in BCN catching up with old friends!! Yes it is a hike up, but we didn't mind the exercise. Lucky had air-con to get us through the heat of summer. Close to the metro which is good too. THANKS INES
Fantastic area. Clean, stylish apartment and no probs during any part of our stay. Perfect.
It was my second stay in the Ines appartment... So l like it !!
We really enjoyed our stay in the apartment, my kids immediately felt at home!! It is close to the Metro, not far from the beach and with a a lot of nice local restaurants and cafes. And our host was so helpful and easy to get into contact with. We will be back...
The balcony door doesn't close (let alone lock) and there was construction every morning starting at 8am. That being said, the apartment was conveniently close to the beach and the metro. Friendly neighbors.
Very nice place to stay close to the beach! With the two bikes it's a nice and easy to go to the several places in Barcelona.
