Stay in my lovely, light and airy home, close to beautiful Richmond Park and the River Thames.
I am offering a light and airy double (king size bed) or twin room, and your own private living room in my Victorian home, located in the residential area of north Kingston. Your bedroom has plenty of drawer storage, space for hanging clothes, a dressing table/desk and chair, and a hairdryer. Your comfortable living room has a sofa, armchair, flat screen TV/DVD player with various cable channels and radio.
You would share the bathroom with just me (and I never hog it!), a second loo, and the kitchen and dining area too, which looks out on to my beautiful, peaceful garden, where you can relax if the weather allows. You would have a couple of shelves in my fridge, your own food cupboard space, and you are free to use all kitchen facilities to cook your meals. You can also hop on to my wi-fi.
The house is in a great location, just 2 minutes walk away from Richmond Park, and 15 minutes walk from the River Thames, Kingston station and town centre. Norbiton station is also only a 12 minute walk away from the house with trains running about every 15 minutes for a 25 minute ride in to London Waterloo, and 15 minutes from Wimbledon if you're here for the tennis. Hampton Court Palace is a 10 minute drive or a 50 minute walk along the river too. Richmond is also very close by (a 50 minute walk through the park or a 20 minute bus ride away). I've been living here for 3 years now and I still feel like I'm on holiday!
Other Things to Note
Check in times have to be arranged around my hours of work. If you are arriving by public transport and if you have a mobile phone, you can call me and I can pick you up from Norbiton station or Kingston bus station which will save you a 10/15 minute walk with your luggage. Please note that without a call from you I can not pick you up as parking and waiting time at Norbiton and Kingston is very limited.
I provide bed linen and towels.
You can help yourself to tea, coffee and milk during your stay but please note I don't provide breakfast.
Visitors parking permits for outside the house are £2 a day, and for around the corner £1 a day.
Optional £10 for cleaning of bedroom if staying for more than one week.
Both your bedroom and living room do face on to a road, so there can be a little traffic noise, particularly during rush hours, but no more than what would be expected from most suburban residencies.
Please tidy up after yourself in the kitchen and bathroom
Please eat your meals in the dining area and not in your bedroom or lounge.
Ruth is relaxed and friendly, the room and facilities exactly as described - clean, up to date, comfortable bed, great location on outskirts of London, brilliant value for money. I'll be back!
Ruth is an excelente host. We had a great time in London and she helped us a lot. Her house is beautiful, very clean and comfortable. I would definitely come back. The neighbourhood quiet and nice. The train station is 15 minutes walk from the house. Amazing experience there.
Ruth's place is comfortable, quiet, and restful. Ruth is a kind and gracious host. I would definitely book time with her in the future.
Yes I was made I feel welcome. The neighborhood was great and suited me very well. Ruth was a great host and very helpful. I enjoyed her company.
What an absolutely lovely place to stay, it felt like a hotel, and Ruth was so welcoming and also brilliant at communicating beforehand. This place is so close to Richmond Park, and there were instructions left for us on how we could get there as well as a little map to use to figure our way around. I would definitely recommend this airbnb and Ruth was an excellent host.
I was fortunate to be in Ruth's welcoming home for three weeks. I was very comfortable, warm and felt extremely safe. Having my own sitting room really made me feel at home. Ruth is a respective and considerate host. The location is perfect, very quick train service into Waterloo from nearby Kingston or Norbiton stations. The wonderful Richmond Park is a very close walk, and such a special thing to do in the morning. Its hard to believe that such a huge beautiful park is so close to central London. The bus service in the area works well, as is the benefit of being so close to Kingston on Thames shops, and as well Richmond is a short bus ride. If you love to walk then Richmond and Kingston have so much to offer. To walk from Ruth's home to Hampton Court Palace along the Thames River just takes 50 minutes.
Hi. Stayed at Ruth's place for 2 nights and I love the room and everything about the house. The house is comfortable and Ruth is very helpful and friendly. The most important the housing area is very safe even if u walk at night. she offered to pick us up at bus station and also sent us to the station after our stay. It was a great experience stay in Kingston and definitely will come again.
I'm a designer and art teacher so my house is individual and colourful, and I can tell you a lot about the local arts scene as well as what's on at the London galleries. I love food so can recommend some good local eateries and will frequently offer you a slice of my latest home- made cake! I am also a keen walker and can recommend a lot of lovely local walks.
