Tucked away on a country lane, Forestville Guest House (FGH) offers you peace and serenity in its rural country location.. Enjoy being in the midst of the Russian River and Wineries without the traffic and congestion of more populated areas.

The Space

Forestville Guest House is a 400 square foot accommodation that features a comfortable Queen-sized bed on the first floor, an en suite bathroom with shower, with a loft lounge upstairs reached via a wrought iron spiral staircase.

FGH has dining areas both inside and on the private patio. FGH does not have a kitchen. There is a Gas BBQ with a side burner on the private patio and inside FGH there (email hidden) area which includes the following amenities: Coffee Maker, Coffee Bean Grinder & Filters, Electric Water Boiler, Microwave Oven, Toaster Oven, Blender, and small full-size Refrigerator. We provide cooking equipment and utensils as well as dishes, silverware, cups and glassware.

Forestville Guest House sits next to the owner’s residence. It is in a quiet and peaceful setting. The owners are experienced hosts who give their guests privacy but are usually on hand in case they are needed.

Forestville is a small community situated in the midst of a thriving wine growing region. There are several hundred wineries surrounding our town. You will also find restaurants and shops within a short drive. For those of you who enjoy canoeing, the Russian River is about a mile away. If it’s hiking you enjoy, Armstrong Redwood park is a short 7-mile drive or if you prefer ocean views, the Pacific Ocean is a half hours drive west. If you are visiting our area from another state or country, Forestville is close enough to San Francisco that a day visit is certainly an option!

Nested in among the Redwoods and vineyards, our romantic Guest House offers the best of Sonoma County's Wine Region!

Guest Access

We invite our Guests to enjoy our property with us.

We have extensive gardens with many comfortable areas to sit and take in the plants and creatures that call our land home.

We have a swimming pool which we offer our guests to share with us during the warmer months when it is a delicious temperature. (The pool is solar heated.)

We limit the use of our swimming pool to our Guests alone.

The pool is not enclosed. Because of this, we do not accommodate children.

Interaction with Guests

We enjoy meeting our Guests but enjoy our privacy and allow them theirs.

The Neighborhood

Forestville is a beautiful small rural town. Forestville Guest House is located (email hidden) lane about a mile from the town center. We and our neighbors enjoy living in the private quiet setting that is Johnson Lane.

Please DRIVE SLOWLY on Johnson Lane. It is a quarter mile single lane dirt road which is shared by 11 homes and is only safe to drive at 10 mph.

Thank you for your kind consideration of our lifestyle, we hope you enjoy your time in our midst!

Getting around

Sonoma County is filled with interesting towns and cities. Most of them are about 10 miles apart. The wine growing region is throughout the county. There is a wealth of state and local parks, including the Sonoma Coast and Armstrong Redwood Park.

Taxi's are available but must be ordered by phone in order to use them. There is a county wide bus system and Forestville Guest House is about a miles walk to the Forestville stop.

For this reason, we think it is best that our Guests have a car to use during their stay.

There are car rental locations at the Santa Rosa Charles Schultz Airport, SFO, and Oakland International Airports.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • My husband and I had a nice weekend at Ana and Peter's. The guest house is nicely decorated and cozy. We enjoyed the hot tub and playing board games in the upstairs, as well as sitting by the pool.

The location is also quite convenient, as the home is only 20 minutes to nearly everywhere: Healdsburg, Sebastopol, Freestone (amazing bakery there), Santa Rosa...

We would definitely recommend this to others and would love to come back and stay again.

    Response from Ana And Peter:

The town of Freestone is a real gem! We love the little shop next to Wildflower Bakery. Enduring Comforts is full of treasures! If you didn't drop in on this visit, you might want to do so on your next visit!

  • As described and shown. Sometimes you don't get exactly what you see, but this time you will. The privacy we wanted, with the amenities we were looking for. I'd recommend this place if you're heading up for a float on the Russian river or wine tasting excursion and looking for a place to stay the night or weekend.

  • They were extremely pleasant - great stay, fantastic pool, hot tub and garden!

  • We had an awesome stay at the Forestville Guest House. We just came for the weekend from SF, but I could have easily stayed for a week! We actually did not get a chance to meet Ana and Peter during our stay. The guest house is very private. We used the hot tub and sat by the pool for a little bit one morning. They have beautiful gardens that we walked around. We ventured up to Healdsburg and surrounding wineries and then took a day trip out to the coast. Such a beautiful area. I hope to make it back to this Airbnb location again!!

  • (email hidden) to stay! I took my girlfriend to do some wine buying in the Russian River area and booked this place. While we didn't meet our hosts, self check in/out was a breeze! During the time we were there we felt very relaxed and at home. The place (email hidden) and very clean. Cool loft, where we shared a bottle of wine and watched some TV after a long day. We also used the BBQ, it was big, nice one! The kitchen had the rest of the basics and was perfect for what we needed to do. I would stay here again in a minute. Thank you Ana and Peter!

  • My boyfriend and I booked Ana and Peter's place last minute, and they were very quick to respond and accommodate us. We found the place no problem, and it was exactly (even better!) then pictured! We hopped in the jacuzzi first thing, (already at 101!) and enjoyed the comfy bed. It's centrally located to state parks, the coast, and wine country. A perfect 2 day escape from the city. We didn't see them the entire time we were there until we were driving away! Definitely private, even though it's adjacent to their home. Great place!

  • The guest house is adorable, and the hot tub was perfect. Ana and Peter keep the hot tub heated so that you can get in right when you arrive, without having to wait for it to heat up. I had been worried that the close proximity to the main house would cut down on privacy, but we were undisturbed for our whole stay (although I'm sure they would love to spend time with guests who are so inclined). I would definitely stay here again.

  • My husband and I came here for a Thanksgiving getaway. We loved staying at this wonderful place! Would highly recommend to others! The cottage had everything we needed and the hottub was lovely! Thank you!

  • I absolutely loved my stay at the Forestville Guest House! Ana was very helpful before I arrived, answering all my questions promptly and making sure I had all the information I needed. The house was very clean, quiet and homey. I especially enjoyed having a private patio with a grill and hot tub. The star-gazing is spectacular.

Retired and enjoying life!
Peter and I enjoy a retired lifestyle. We have an adult son who is presently living in Brooklyn, New York. We have traveled extensively throughout the world and enjoy meeting and staying in touch with the people we have met on these trips. We are a quiet fun loving couple living on a property in the Northern California wine region that we acquired in 1981. Our property mirrors our interest for the beauty of life. We have extensive gardens where we enjoy the many plants and creatures that call our land home. Peter enjoys playing music and is a drummer in a band, plays guitar and the cello. Ana loves to cook and entertain and enjoys learning about the cuisine of all the places she visits. I would say we are gentle, happy, and considerate people.
