About This Listing
Our cool and comfortable bungalow offers a peaceful and truly relaxing escape from 'all inclusive' type tourism. It comfortably fits three adults or a family. Enjoy the D. R. and its wonderful cultures in a way that you will fall in love with.
A clean private bungalow, to rent, set amongst the abundance of natural beauty of Jurassic Park.
The bungalow come with a fully equipped kitchen, a double bed (if required, another bed can be arranged), a bathroom with shower, and a terrace with views of the beautiful green tropical valley and the ocean.
Jurassic Park is a magical place situated on a small hill, in a tranquil valley, 3-5 mins outside of the main town Las Terrenas.
A short stroll behind us there are two waterfalls with pools - which are extremely inviting, especially when its hot, great for cooling off and helping to make you feel at peace with the world.
We have semi controlled jungle areas which we continue to improve and make part of the attraction of being here.
There is very little light pollution (no upward facing lights) so you can view the night sky, from our open pool terrace, which are mostly spectacular all year round.
If you are a star gazer, a writer or a poet you would feel very much at home here.
We are moving towards self sufficiency and Eco tourism. We already have pure spring water and we have solar panels and soar water heaters.
We will in the future add a variety of electric vehicles for guests.
If you have children then this is a natural wonderland providing constant amazement. Indeed, visits from the local children, who are a breath of fresh air, will aid your children in understanding this environment.
To top it off we have a trampoline which is very popular with children and uncontrollably happy adults alike.
We also grow many fruits and vegetables and indeed as I write this the wife has popped out to our herb garden for some coriander.
We hope to have created a much more personal and friendly feeling.
We have a great track record of content, repeat visitors. It seems that a return visit is a must, once you have been bitten by the magic and unadulterated beauty of our little oasis.
Also for a small additional fee we now offer breakfast (typically eggs, toast, seasonal fruits, juices, vegetable and cheese empanadas and coffee in our jungle communal area. Its a great chance to discuss your days activities and learn the best places to go. Just let us know before hand.

We spend two amazing weeks at Jurassic Park! It's a great place for anyone who's looking to experience the country, its spirit and its people. You get in touch with the locals very quickly, which makes it a much better experience than any all-inclusive hotel at the beach. We had all the comfort we needed for a two week stay (cooling fan, fridge, kitchen with stove, nice shower and a great pool, super-comfortable hammock on you own front-porch, ...), while still feeling close to nature.
Dominic and Helena are very helpful and offer you lots of advice about life and culture in the Dominican Republic as well as great suggestions for excursions. There are wonderful beaches (Playa Coson, Playa Bonita) just a 10 minute drive away, but it's also a great starting point for lots of adventures and paradise beaches around the Samana peninsula.
Just to give one example, we had a two-day excursion with Ramon (part of the Jurassic Park staff) to a secluded beach. It was an amazing experience: hiking through the mountains, collecting fresh mango on our way, freshly cooked fish, fire on the beach, harvesting your own coconuts (and opening them with a machete), and a wonderful night sky with the only light around coming from the moon and the stars. It was close to paradise!
Definitive recommendation to all individual travelers looking for more than just a resort on the beach!
We loved this place! A beautiful property. Very comfortable and peaceful. A bit away from town, but we had a car, and found the location convenient for travel around the peninsula .
This was a very nice and attractive location. The bungalows were well kept and comfortable and had solar heated hot water which was a great treat. We enjoyed the company of people that appreciate locality and nature. The workers on the site were extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you guys!!! Would definitely recommend this location to anyone who plans on visiting the Las Terrenas area.
I loved my stay at Jurassic Park. Dominic and Helena are lovely people. They were incredible helpful, friendly and welcoming my entire stay. They really make their guests feel like old friends or family staying with them.
Though a few hours away from the airport, it was pretty easy to get to Las Terrenas. I took a taxi from the airport straight to the bus stop. The bus was a 2-3 hour journey and when I got off in Las Terrenas someone was waiting for me at the bus stop to take me to the property.
The property is beautiful and lush. It is well-taken care of, yet they have managed to keep with the natural environment to make it seem like you're staying in the jungle. Stars at night were incredible. Also enjoyed the fact that they are eco-friendly (solar energy, solar heating, etc.). Tons of options nearby to visit such as beaches, a national park with a waterfall, etc. Great place - totally recommend it!
Jurassic Park is an amazing place. It truly feels like an oasis in an already beautiful land. The hosts are very helpful and accommodating, the rooms are nice, the Internet works well and there is hot water. It is a nice walk into town or a short moto ride. I highly recommend staying here, i can not wait for my next visit.
Dominic and Helena are wonderful hosts and their bungalows are charming. The whole Jurassic Park environment is peaceful and relaxing. There's even a lovely pool for swimming if it's hot, although it rained much of the time we were there. Both of them were very helpful in terms of telling us where to find the best beaches and how to arrange a visit to the waterfall as well as a whale-watching tour. The grounds are harmonious with the natural environment, and I loved the various animals they keep. We enjoyed feeding the chickens with our leftover food and eating their fresh eggs in the morning. Their groundskeeper Ramon was able to get fresh milk and honey for us from the villagers. I highly recommend the Jurassic Park bungalows and I'd love to go back.
We had a wonderful stay at Jurassic Park. The hosts, Dominique and Helena were very accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere here is very laid back. The surroundings are beautiful and you are a short ride away from the beach/town by moto concho( about 10 to 15 minutes). Away from the busy town you are in a tropical setting with lots of jungly type trees, hummingbirds and salamanders while still close to some of the most beautiful beaches. We took a moto concho each day to the beach (Playa Bonita) and our guy would pick us up whenever we wanted. Do realize it adds about $25 a day (for two people) to have yourself transported back and forth. We liked the combination of beach and jungle cabana.
The cabana was simple but roomy and with everything you need to cook your own food. Very quiet, at night you hear frogs and crickets to lull you asleep.

This is our favorite beach. It is the kind of place you would expect to wake up if you had died and gone to heaven. Still warm waters, beautiful reefs, white sands and no tourists.Las Terrenas
An adventurous horseback trip winding through jungle, steep pathways of incredible tropical vegetation, wildlife, coffee and cocoa plants culminating with the magnificent waterfall.El Limón Samana
A lovely little hotel within the National Park. We love it because it is similar to our place in that it is an ecological jungle retreat. It is also one of the first places we visited upon arrival.Calle El Hospital Hato Mayor
This beach made famous by lonely planet who made it the second most beautiful beach in the world some 10 years ago. I recommend it for this reason and as a bench mark for the other beaches we know.Samana 32000
Samaná is an ecological paradise. Here, you can go to Los Haitises national park to see mangrove swamps, islets, and caves with cave art. Cayo Levantado [islet] and humpback whale-watching.Samana
I nearly always recommend to my guest to visit El Cabito for their last evening romantic meal. It is an impossibly romantic setting on top of a cliff with views to die for and excellent food.Samana
For me this is the second most beautiful beach on the peninsular. It has the cliffs of insanity, caves, beautiful unspoiled reefs, white sands and clear bright water.Samana
