Absolutely no smoking, no pets, no parties and children under 12 years old.
By American standards, this is actually the sixth floor of a walk up and was quite a work out, but it was well worth it! The apartment feel spacious by HK standards and comes equipped with cooking materials that I was able to put to good use. It was also amazing to have a washer AND dryer to take care of all my traveling needs.
I stayed a week and this place definitely began to feel like home. Situated in a quiet block around the corner from some cool artsy bars and the bustle of wanchai - it was a great place to have one foot in the activity yet find a safe haven in HK.
As previously mentioned there is a film on the windows that does not allow a view out the windows. This almost makes the apartment like a little cocoon.
The apartment was well cared for and Gloria addressed any concerns in a very prompt manner even though she was out of town for my entire stay.
I would certainly recommend!
Although Gloria was out of town when I arrived and during my stay, she sent me detailed instructions on how to get into the apartment. She was very responsive to my e-mails when I had questions.
The apartment was clean and at a great location, only about five minutes from the MTR.
Gloria's place was practically just perfect for us. We would live there if we could.
Glorious air conditioning, there was even a de-humidifier which definitely came in handy during the very humid typhoon season of August.
A washer and drier. I am told this is not common in Hong Kong. It was wonderful to be able to wash our own clothes the way we liked them done.
A kitchen with cookware (but no corkscrew!). This made it possible for us to experiment with the exotic foods at the local wet market!
Lots of storage space.
Easy to keep clean.
It is a very efficiently decorated apartment. It feels very modern, despite the fact that the building itself is old.
The neighborhood. My husband and I LOVED the neighborhood. The locals are awesome. The local pub was the best one in Hong Kong, and the neighbors in the building were very kind and helpful. One even helped us carry up our bags a couple of floors when we were coming in! It is a very authentic neighborhood though. It's not glamorous or modern, which we enjoyed. Many of the workers in the workshops around us did not speak any English (which we liked because then we got to practice our Cantonese sentences we had learned). The building itself is not fancy, but it is cozy. And it was comforting to not be so far off the ground in the high winds of a passing typhoon (they rarely have direct hits over there though so no worries).
The bed was really firm. I mean, it was akin to lying on a yoga mat on a stone floor. I discovered this was common for Asia, however.
My husband particularly disliked that instead of curtains, all the windows had a non-removable white/translucent sticker over them. It was difficult because we wanted to look out the windows to see outside but it was too hot to open the windows and at night the stickers didn't block out all of the street light so if you need it dark to sleep (as I do) it makes it difficult to get good sleep.
After we got to the place we discovered that the furniture on the rooftop was broken and the host asked us not to use it. The rooftop was something we really planned on enjoying, but this prevented us from really using it. It would have been nice to have been told about the furniture beforehand.
The wifi is sometimes spotty and not very fast.
Also, this depends on you, but it's 6 Floors (US) to the apartment, however we personally enjoyed the excersize.
And, this also depends on you, we never did meet our host, but everything worked out anyway so that was okay, just a little impersonal, but again, that depends on your taste.
Overall, though, it was a wonderful experience and a wonderful place. We would absolutely stay there again!
It is really good value for the apartment. Its very central, 7-10 minutes walking to train and Tram, and 4 minutes walking to the nearest bus stop. Also is very near to a supermarket and Wan Chain market. The building street its a old HK street, with many workshops and small shops, but helps to have a deeeper HK experience.
The apartment is very clean, and has all the facilities (have a roof private for the apartment).
Gloria was a good host, that helps me to solve my doubts and potential problems. She was always online to answer by emails.
There are some disadvantages. The main one is that the building doesn´t have a lift and the apartment is in the 5th floor. Also the apartment is like a "bubble" because the windows have a non transparent stiker, so do not receive direct natural light. Finally the last issue is that in the room doesn´t have curtains.
In summary, was a great experience and I recommend Gloria´s apartment.
We had a great stay in Gloria's apartment. It was very convenient for our holiday in Hong Kong. The apartment was as described and had all we needed. We knew there were heaps of stairs so it wasn't a surprise- they are a bit of a killer with luggage but if you take it slow it's a good workout!!!!
Although we didn't get to meet Gloria, she was very well organised and all our questions were answered promptly and in detail.
Would certainly stay again if we were in Hong Kong.

We had an excellent experience from start to finish! Gloria was very helpful before and during our stay. The place is just really great. The location was excellent with supermarkets, the Wan Chai Market and subway all within easy walking distance. The place had everything we needed, lots of storage space (good for me since I like to unpack) and a good secured internet connection, the washer and dryer were a great bonus. I would recommend this place for sure. We didn't want to leave.
