The host canceled this reservation the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
To no fault of my own my previous guest after leaving my place, had a major crisis and needed to extend their stay. My guest are very very important to me. Although i extended their stay i made sure the new guest was compensated. The message is an automated message I worked hard to find the guest excellent accommodations. They were happy with their new accommodations. Bottom line everyone was happy but I still will get to see this message in my reviews. Please read my reviews.
We arrived at the apartment just as Kevin did having had easy communication and accurate timing of arrival. Kevin was a fun host and put us at ease immediately. He showed us the details of the well appointed, large apartment and made us feel at home. The apartment was across the street from Prospect Park, a welcoming oasis in the city. It was about a ten minute walk from the Q train with easy access to Manhattan. We were very comfortable the whole time and found the neighborhood had more than adequate groceries and restaurants. We would happily rent from Kevin again.
Kevin was a very cool host. He was very flexible when I asked to stay an additional day and let me check out at 8PM at no extra charge. He left the fridge well stocked, even beer!! The apartment was clean, quiet and in a very nice Brooklyn location, literally right across the street from Prospect Park and a quick walk to the subway.
This place was absolutely fantastic. It was very spacious in all of the rooms (living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom), it felt safe and secure (the building had a locked main entrance and generally low foot traffic on the sidewalk outside), and it was a perfect location next to Prospect Park and the Q subway stations. Kevin was absolutely fantastic, a really easy-going and conscientious guy; he really cared about making our stay comfortable and welcoming. Even waking up and having coffee & sugar & oatmeal in the pantry to start off the day totally makes a difference on getting yourself in gear to start your day. The internet, the kitchen appliances, the beds--everything was like staying in the comfort of your own well-stocked and comfortable home. If I return to New York, I will absolutely stay here again!!!
The apartment was conveniently located between 2 subway stops (Prospect Park for the B and Q trains and Parkside Avenue for the Q train). There was a grocery store located on the same block as the subway stations (Wholesome Gourmet Market and Pioneer Supermarket.) Having the park right across the street was simply wonderful. A nice quiet respite after a day visiting Manhattan and/or DUMBO. As my husband pointed out, you can be in the middle of the park and not hear the traffic.
The building has an old world flavor to it. The apartment unit was nice, not fussy with enough room for 3 adults.
Kevin was great. Welcoming, warm, attentive and very funny. I called him about a minor plumbing problem. He addressed it right away, working with our schedule so he could get a plumber to come to the apartment while we were gone for the day. Eventually Kevin came to the apartment to look at the plumbing issue. The problem was easily resolved without a plumber. On another occasion, Kevin called to check in with us to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our visit. We were there to attend our daughter's college graduation.
Kevin is the perfect host: attentive, personable, and very funny. I caught myself listening to Kevin say something outrageous with a straight face. He has that ability to put you as ease as soon as he meets you. My only regret is that we didn't take him up on his offer for dinner. However, we did have some time before vacating the apartment to visit with Kevin. Should you rent from Kevin and he offers to take you out for dinner, I highly recommend that you take him up on his offer.
The neighborhood is very safe. I would not hesitate to stay here again and I would highly recommend this apartment to others.
Benling that dinner offer was for you, your husband and your guest. Now every potetial guest is asking me to take them to dinner or they will not book my locations. See what you did...lol. I sincerely hope we meet again. Be safe and wish you continued happiness, You were great guest and with the short time we spent I think you know that you guys will be deeply missed, Kevin.
We had a great stay at this property. Kevin was very accommodating and went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable. The property is located in a nice area and very close to the subway. We will definitely consider staying here again
Kevin is a genuinely awesome host. He was flexible on time, super friendly, easy going, and really helpful whenever we needed anything. 100% recommend.

About the Host, Kevin
School Teacher, Therapeutic Counselor, former Social Worker and father to 6 kids, 3 are Police officers, 1 is an F.B.I. agent, and 1 is just spoiled, but I didnt do it. Im a family man and community worker / recreational event organizer. Love to have fun, very much a peoples person. Enjoy seeing people having fun. I love kids and making long lasting friendships/ relationships. I'm a very good cook. I enjoy cooking and eating. I like exercising regularly and training people on how to condition their bodies. I have a full entertainment system so now I'm more of a family (stay in) man. I volunteer youth empowerment and personal development programs services at a local recreation center. Don't find the time to travel much anymore or as much as I use to, but favorite place was the Bahamas. When my oldest son was in the military, I often found my home to be the place for five or six of his friends to stay, for the holidays. I would take guys that never been to NYC, on my famous tours. I would make them a big breakfast to start the morning. Now I have kids from all over the U.S. that calls me pops.
