The Space

Across the street from Prospect Park and around the corner from Botanical Gardens

It also has all the upgrades you can imagine. Completely renovated and designed for comfort and privacy. Hardwood floors, Suede look sofa, new kitchen, renovated bathroom, with upscale accessories, modern conveniences. Bedroom & Livingroom Air-conditioning, Coffee maker, Juicer, Microwave, Toaster, Hair-dryer. This place was completely remodeled.

A one bedroom with a spacious livingroom that easily converts into a second large bedroom. The livingroom has a super high-rise queen size air-mattress with wired remote comfort adjustable air support (compare).
Or, if thats not enough the livingroom also has a futon mid-size (for one or two) sofa convert, for those nights that you just want to flob down and pass out.
The large bedroom has a 12" thick real bed, state of the art bathroom and newly renovated kitchen- (Full Private Apartment, -not a share) You will love to wake up across the street from Prospect Park in the spring, summer and fall months, to the sounds of birds chirping, the smell of warm fresh air of trees, plants and flowers; or in the winter month it is a very cozy hideaway with access to public transportation that can zip you to the city in minutes. I also have a list of other places, all newly renovated with a few holding upto 15 guests

This is a very upscale community, safe environment. With all the attractions that Brooklyn and Manhattan has to offer, you will probably never be home.
Visit Prospect Park Zoo, Botanical Gardens, the famous Brooklyn Public Library, the Brooklyn Museum all minutes away by walking. Go Downtown by bus or train and visit the world famous Junior's Cheese Cake Restaurant while you shop. Hop on the train and in minutes you are at Wall Street, SoHo or stay on the train and get off at Times Square. Book during the holidays and see all the celebrities that come out during the Macy's Day Parade or watch the ball drop on New Years Eve.

As of 5/2013 the place has been painted all white as requested by returning guest

The list of Broadway Plays are phenomenal and the daily events or experiences that New York City has to offer are limitless.

Hop back on the train and your home to wine-down and relax in a safe a relaxing atmosphere and begin your next venture for tomorrow. Either way I know you will be back. Please remember to give a review of your experience in my place so that others will continue to book far in advance. You can't beat the price or the location. It's like living across from Central Park just without all the backed-up traffic noise and crowded streets. Have all the luxuries of NYC and Brooklyn combined.

NOTE: Cleaning fee only applies to guest staying four or more days.

To rent a huge apartment for multiple guest and events or just single rooms not far from here, see Clinton Hills "Walk to NYC" or "Man Cave Plus" Thanks, Your Host Kevin

  • The apartment is very well located - the area is really nice - you have the train station and the giant prospect park at the door - 25min direct to time square - there a little nice place to eat and be surrounding by different culture and way of life - I found in love with the neighbourhood - the apartment is really large we were five and it's perfect - the bathroom is clean - there is only one room but you can add a air mattress provided by Kevin and in the living room you have the sofa bed and you can add another air mattress high quality provided by Kevin as we'll - Kevin (email hidden) - he prepared everything for us and was really kind - my only concern is the mattress in the bedroom is a bit hard maybe because it hurt my back but I'm also sensitive so no big deal - Kevin offered us chips and fresh water an also towels and linen - it was great to stay there and I will coming back - thanks Kevin

  • Was in NY for a wedding at Brooklyn Botanical Garden and this was the perfect place. Across from Prospect Park, perfect for morning runs and Celebrate Brooklyn festival, and a short walk to Q train. Tons of interesting shopping and dining options in the area too. Kevin was great - very patient with this rookie and very helpful and friendly. The place is simple but very comfortable -home away from home.

  • Kevin's place was a perfect location for our visit. Across from Prospect Park and 5 minutes to the subway. The apartment was a bit sparse but clean, roomy and great kitchen facilities. Kevin was very accommodating and friendly, willing to help in any way. We will definitely stay at this unit again!

  • Perfect place to stay in Lefferts Garden Brooklyn. Beautiful Prospect Park is right in front of the building. The place has two big TVs hooked up with cable, netflix, Pandora ect. Kitchen had everything you need to make food. Bed was super nice. Very modern bathroom with lots of towels. Kevin is a really nice guy and was always available. This place is the real Brooklyn experience you come to New York for!

  • The apartment was secure, spacious and convenient. It was equiped with everything you should need. Our group was 4, but could fit easily up to 6 people. The location has great access to transportation (Q, B lines with two different metro stations a block away) 20 or 30 mins to Manhattan. I felt the neighborhood was generally safe to walk around anytime. Kevin was very attentive durig our stay even though I could not meet him ;).

  • It is a normal variant, to sleep, eat and take a shower.

Near a large shop and a subway line Q.
    Directly across the botanical garden.

    Response from Kevin:

It was fun going out to breakfast and meeting up to pick you guys up from the airport and drop you guys off when it was time for your flights departure. I notice that Constantine was the one who spoke better English ...lol. You guys asked tons of questions during our little tour. What I liked though was the fact that the movies and television description of Brooklyn was totally different from what you guys were experiencing. I had fun watching the videos of Alex in Russia and I kid you not, you guys are wonderful. I'm also glad that I had the free time. Hope one day that we can do it again. Hope you had a safe flight home and thank you for a good time and I'm glad you guys enjoyed yourselves. Alex....You need to improve you English...lol. Thanks Kevin

  • We had a horrible experience with this particular apartment! The place was nothing like it was described, please read this post before booking this place.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT AIRBNB AGREED AND REFUNDED OUR MONEY BACK**

    1) there is only ONE BEDROOM, the livingroom was counted as a second bedroom by Kevin which included a single (maybe a twin size) sofa bed. Then he offered a QUEEN size blow up bed that is to be plugged into a full power bar that is floating in mid air. (NOT SAFE)

    2) NOT SPACIOUS. After the sofa bed is out with the air matress, there's not even enough room for a size 0 girl to walk through.

    3) it is not newly renovated, the walls have water mark all over them, uneven paint, dirty floors. It was just really gross and you could see ..."wall glue?" some sort of white adhesive foam at various spots to glue things together like pipes in the washroom.

4)) It's quite humid in there, the windows are constantly fogged up. The showers are rusted and the kitchen looked dirty.

Honestly, the list can go on. If you're just looking for a place to sleep and shower, like a minimal roof over your head kind of place, this place will be fine. It depends on your standards and the place you are looking for, but I just want to warn everyone out there that this place is not as luxurious and glamorous as he describes it.

Our New York experience was quite sad, Kevin showed us his kid's cop badges then told us how many places he had and no one has ever complained about his place before. Then when we wouldn't settle he said that he had another place that he can try and get for us but wouldn't know till 5 pm ( we arrived at 8:00 am! called him and he didn't pick up, and finally showed up and said we never called him- we called and texted on the taxi ride and airport). We waited till 5:30 and called him, no answer, called again and he said he'll call us back later, then finally at 6:30 he said that the place is not available and if we wait till night time he can try and find another place. We said that we waited all day already and wasted our first day waiting around and didn't want to wait longer and asked for a refund, then he told us to take it to airbnb because he's not willing to refund us.

Thankfully airbnb agreed with us and returned our money. ** this process took a week and a half and they did not reply in between that time so with our tight budget, we had to sleep on the floor at a friends all week** talk about a horrible vacation!

  • My family and I really enjoyed the home and stay. Kevin was very helpful from the first day I inquired about the home. His home was spacious and relaxing accomadating to all our needs for the stay there. I could call on him at anytime and he would be more than helpful. Because of our late arrive he made sure we had what we requested for us at the house already. It was within miniutes of the places we were trying to go and his place was convinent to stores, the subway train, bank of america, resturants, and across from the park. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a home and the owner is very pleasant and accommadating within reason. My first stay in a rental has been an experience and I would not change it for any other experience as long as I met people like Mr. Kevin Burke to rent from definitely without taking advantage of them or him. Thank you so much and I will be back.

About
School Teacher, Therapeutic Counselor, former Social Worker and father to 6 kids, 3 are Police officers, 1 is an F.B.I. agent, and 1 is just spoiled, but I didnt do it. Im a family man and community worker / recreational event organizer. Love to have fun, very much a peoples person. Enjoy seeing people having fun. I love kids and making long lasting friendships/ relationships. I'm a very good cook. I enjoy cooking and eating. I like exercising regularly and training people on how to condition their bodies. I have a full entertainment system so now I'm more of a family (stay in) man. I volunteer youth empowerment and personal development programs services at a local recreation center. Don't find the time to travel much anymore or as much as I use to, but favorite place was the Bahamas. When my oldest son was in the military, I often found my home to be the place for five or six of his friends to stay, for the holidays. I would take guys that never been to NYC, on my famous tours. I would make them a big breakfast to start the morning. Now I have kids from all over the U.S. that calls me pops.
