I have lived here for over 20 years and have rented the room to many people over the years. I am a friendly, progressive woman. I have travelled many places and love meeting people from around the world. Also living here is one sweet, friendly and curious tabby cat who will certainly make you her own!
I am a Toronto native and I enjoy hosting visitors to the city. I look forward to meeting you!
Please wear indoor footwear only. Please remove outdoor footwear when you enter the apartment.
Even before arriving, Lorna kept in touch and helped me route my way to her place. The room itself has wonderful light and Lorna's place has a fantastic atmosphere -- probably due to Lorna's presence! It was such a pleasure meeting Lorna and Zora the kitty! Definitely hoping to stay with Lorna again soon =)
Lorna was just wonderful! She is an open-minded, caring woman and welcomed us with a cake! Her flexibility concerning my earlier departure was beyond all comparison.
She has travelled lots of countries and has met lots of peoples from all over the world.thus, she knows much about different cultures, habits and languages. She recommended lots of sights, bars and restaurants.
The room is bright and lovely furnished. Unfortunately, the balcony could not be used, due to its winter sleep :D
There were no loud noises during the night–absolutely nice. Same with the neighborhood, which is save and placid. The streetcar is a ten minute walk from the house. There are plenty of cafés and little shops as well as supermarkets in close proximity.
We spent some nice evenings in the living room watching movies together. Thanks for the great week!
Lorna was a warm and gracious host. She was responsive to my messages both before and during my stay. Zoro the kitty is a pleasantly goofy addition to the apartment and Parkdale is a very charming neighborhood.
I stayed at Lorna's house for one month. I really enjoyed my stay.
The house is beautiful, I had a big and bright room, it was perfect.
The house is close to streetcars and a few minutes away by streetcar to the subway station, so it was very convenient to visit the city.
Lorna is a very lovely women and she has a really cute cat !
I would really recommend this place. Don't hesitate to come stay here !
About the Host, Lorna
Hi everybody! I am a friendly progressive woman and a Toronto native, in my early 60s. I have travelled to many places in the world, and am always very interested to meet people from everywhere. Toronto is said to be the most culturally diverse city in the world!
I am semi-retired now, and have worked as a social worker, child care worker and ESL teacher.
My house is in a wonderful neighbourhood of downtown-west Toronto. I like to cycle, and enjoy cooking, eating at fantastic ethnic restaurants, reading, film, live jazz and most other kinds of music, art galleries and museums, walking in parks, going swimming. I love to go out and hear live jazz and I sing in a community choir. I do yoga and meditation. Some of my favourite times are when I have camped and canoed in the Ontario wilderness of forests and lakes. But, not to give the impression that I am super-active, I can often be found reading and watching DVDs and falling asleep on my living room couch!
I believe that the purpose of life is to enjoy it, care for our gorgeous earth and nature, and make a positive contribution to the world while I am in it. Issues of social justice are important to me. I try to be optimistic and down to earth and hope I am not too obsessive about anything. My home is quiet, peaceful and the look of it reflects me. It is comfortable and a little cluttered. I am not a neat freak but it is clean.
If you stay at my home, you will enjoy peace, quiet and privacy, and the company of my sweetie cat, Zora.
