The marina also has a clubhouse with full shower and bathroom facilities. There is wireless internet from the marina but I do not guarantee access since it is not directly within my control.

The boat does not leave the dock during your stay and you do not share her with other guests. If you are interested in getting underway, I can arrange for a sailing or powerboat cruise on another boat.

I also have arrangements with other providers, so anything that you need (from provisioning to catered meals to kayak excursions to sunset sailing) can be arranged for you.

Horizon Seeker is perfect for couples, small families, and other getaways. If you have never been on a boat before, don't despair. It's easy and I will walk you through everything.

Two things to keep in mind:
1. The walk from the parking lot to the boat is about 5 minutes. It's a dock with a ramp. We have dock carts to help you bring your items to the boat. There is a small staircase with 5 steps to get onto the boat.
2. Please note that sometimes boats smell funny since you are sitting in salt water and engines and other mechanics are all contained on the boat.

Horizon Seeker has PFDs available for use by younger guests, and passed her 2013 USCG Vessel Safety Exam.

Pets are allowed by special arrangement. Contact me directly for more information.

Guest Access

You'll have accès to the pool, hot tub, beach, and free shuttle. There are three restaurants on-site, and between them you can eat and drink all day long. You'll also have access to the marina facilities - bathrooms, showers and laundry. There is wireless internet available at no charge.

Interaction with Guests

I've set everything up so that you can easily arrive and depart; no need to meet anyone to pick up keys, etc. Happy to recommend fun things to do and yummy places to eat during your stay.

The Neighborhood

The view from the marina is incredible! You can enjoy the beauty of downtown and the harbor without having to go anywhere. It's a short walk to the on-site restaurants and bars and a short drive to hot spots like Shem Creek and Sullivan's Island. It's easy to get downtown and to/from all the major roads.

Getting around

There is a free shuttle downtown and to some other local attractions. The water taxi to downtown is only a few feet away and it costs $10/roundtrip (all-day pass) per person.

  • The boat was great, location on the water was perfect, and Jen was a great host.

  • Jennifer's boat was the second stop for my husband and I on our honeymoon. We didn't know what to expect before arrival but were blown away when we stepped on board! The master bedroom is VERY roomy and the bed is VERY comfy. I was a little nervous that I wouldn't be able to sleep due to the waves and rocking of the boat. After a great night's sleep, I was pleasantly surprised at how little I noticed the movement. We also laid out some blankets on the bow and enjoyed the night breeze and stars. This was an amazing stay and we wish we would have stayed longer.

  • So much better than staying in a hotel.

  • Jennifer's boat is a wonderful place to stay! We had a great time. The boat was well equipped to entertain and sleep our group of four. The resort's trolley service into downtown Charleston makes it even easier to stay and enjoy every side of the Charleston experience. We will definitely book again for future trips.

  • It has been a wonderful memory to stay in Jennifer's Horizon Seeker. Also our first time to sleep on boat, yet all is great. We run into Charleston pretty late of the day but still be able to do self checking without any trouble. There are absolutely gorgeous views around Barbour. And until we noticed the next day. There are plenty of supermarket or food store around within a driving distance. For the boat. Apart from the toilet in the master bedroom has some issues before we arrived, all others worked fine. The bed are all very comfortable.

  • Location is fantastic! Water taxi just 2 slips from Horizon Seeker, but only runs on Saturday in the off season. It was an adventurous weekend full of fun and great food!

  • The setting is breath taking. Jennifer is very nice. I am a current Air B&B client myself. So I know how it is to rent a property. The first day we got there the toilet overflowed and it took Jennifer a day to get to it. The shower is old and the water trickled out. One shower leaks and the faucet has no pressure . The boat needs some upgrading. The wood is faded and needs a good cleaning. Beds are comfortable and sheets and towels are clean. Jennifer needs to upgrade the boat. But its a nice setting and wonderful sunsets!

  • We had a wonderful short stay on Horizon Seeker. Was a fun experience and was very spacious and comfortable. Jennifer provided lots of amenities and things to do. We did have an issue with one of the toilets that wouldn't flush well. But overall had a great time!

  • The Horizon Seeker is in an absolutely beautiful location. Jennifer was right about the dolphins and the gorgeous sunset. We were so pleased to be able to walk to the water taxi for the short trip to downtown Charleston...much better than driving in and looking for parking. The boat itself was as pictured; there was plenty of room for the four of us. The beds were comfortable and the porch sitting area was absolutely delightful. We had one major snafu however. We woke up our first morning with no water on board. We called Jennifer who called immediately back and shared that the marina water main was broken and should be repaired by noon. We were fine with that, as the toilets still worked and the marina showers and sinks were accessible. We then noticed signs posted, stating that the Marina staff would fill any boats' tanks with water, until the main was fixed. We asked that our tanks be filled so that we could at least wash our hands, brush our teeth, wash the dishes (we saw a roach and didn't want to invite more) and fix a pot of coffee. The marina staff shared with us that the pumps on the Horizon Seeker did not work, so it would do no good to fill our boat's tanks. We called Jennifer back at 12 noon when the main was not repaired. We received a brief text an hour later from Jennifer including a statement that "it's like the public utilities going out," without addressing our concern about the boats' nonfunctioning pumps. She offered no apology or sympathetic understanding of our situation, nor did she mention the voicemail we had left earlier. We responded in kind with a text back at 1:30pm, asked about the nonfunctioning pumps and suggested Jennifer adjust our fee. We never heard back from Jennifer all day Saturday. We texted again at 9am on Sunday (we still had no water) and received a text response at 9:35am stating that we could stay later and that she would work on adjusting our rate and get back to us the next day. As I explained in my text back, since check out time was 10am, we were already loading the cars. Water returned to the boat around 9:30am, as we were loading up. I called Jennifer shortly before 5pm Monday after our return and received an immediate response through AirBnB's resolution request program offering a $105 adjustment to our total cost of $549. I accepted this offer. As long as the water is working on board, I would highly recommend staying on the Horizon Seeker. But after talking to the marina staff and hearing that the water main problem had been ongoing for several days, with numerous failed attempts to repair, I feel that we should have been warned ahead of time of the risk. We probably won't risk it again and wish so much our experience had been better.

About
A lover of all things related to water, I've been around boats my entire life. I love Horizon Seeker and enjoy sharing her with guests. When she is not chartered I've been known to spend an evening at the marina, relaxing and watching the sun set. Interested in learning more about what to do during your stay? Just ask! I am a writer, photographer and former Charleston tour guide. When not focusing on Horizon Seeker, I work as a government contractor for the U.S. Coast Guard and volunteer my time to various organizations, including the Charleston Animal Society, Dee Norton Lowcountry Children's Center and USCG Auxiliary. I love being outdoors with my dogs and spending time on the water.
