About This Listing
This award-winning home from 1968 is located at the top of Noe Valley. There are stunning views of downtown SF, Bay, Oakland, Bay Bridge, Transamerica and beyond. It's quiet and located just a block from Safeway, Glen Canyon Park and transportation.
I've been a collector of mid-century furniture, art and design for years and my home reflects that. There's over 1900 square feet, so there's lots of room. The living room and the kitchen area have 15 foot cathedral ceilings and clerestory windows. There are 270 degree panoramic views of downtown SF, Bay, Oakland, Bay Bridge, Transamerica, and beyond. There are three bedrooms- one of which is currently used for an office. The house is part of an architectural award-winning neighborhood from 1968. It also was an award winner in the 1969 Homes for Better Living program from the AIA.
Guests will have access to their bedroom, their private bath, the office and the main living areas of the house.
Interaction with Guests
I will sometimes be home but I do travel a lot. I'm a really nice guy too!
I really love the architecture of the neighborhood, as well as its convenience to the Diamond Heights Shopping Center and Glen Canyon Park for hiking. It's also extremely quiet- you'd never know you are in the middle of the city. There's low density and tons of street parking. Noe Valley is right down the hill and the Castro is a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk.
There are bus stops right around the corner from the house- really just a block away. One direction goes to the Glen Park Bart station. The other goes to the Forest Hill Station. Two blocks away is a bus stop that goes directly to the Castro.
Other Things to Note
There is a lot of great mid-century architecture within walking distance. My home has been on mid-century walking tours and I can direct you to some other cool houses that are nearby.
I don't allow pets and if you need to smoke it must be outside on the decks. I expect a respectful noise level, as well as a respectful bedtime.
Bob's place is fabulous, located on top of Diamond heights, it gets the bird eye view of the whole San Francisco, and it's convenient to get to other parts of city, easy to find parking places, and supermarket and post office are just around the corner.
It's a pity that Bob is out of town, so we didn't get a chance to meet him personally, yet Bob arranged everything for us to ensure a smooth and comfortable stay. Bob's friend Michael has been a great help to us, offering advices throughout the city and we get along quite well during our stay.
Hope we can stay longer next time, in Bob's lovely place in unique city of San Francisco.
Bob is a wonderful host! charming, classy and friendly. I enjoyed staying at his flat.
Bob was a super host...very friendly, relaxed, and also gave great advice about places to visit in the area. The place was gorgeous and very clean and decorated in excellent taste. Recommended.
Lovely, immaculately kept home! The views from Bob's home are stunning, especially at night. We enjoyed just sitting and taking it all in after we'd come home for the night!
Bob was a delight, had coffee ready for us in the morning and was very accommodating and approachable. Bed was very comfortable, area quiet, safe, and with easy parking.
Beautiful! Pictures do not do this immaculate property justice. Bob is very accommodating, truly an excellent host.

About the Host, Bob
I'm a creative director and appreciate all of what Northern California has to offer. I've looked to find special architecturally interesting and significant homes as I love the period of architecture in the area from the mid to late '60s, as well as 1970s. My properties are thoughtfully decorated to the period they were designed, yet updated appropriately.
I've been collecting special mid-century furniture, objects and artwork. I'm also into vintage muscle cars. I'm on the board of an organization to document and help preserve buildings of the modern movement. I'm not a big TV watcher, but never tire of the classic TV sitcoms of the past. I don't do reality TV as I'd rather use the time reading about architecture or design! Or going outside.
I love traveling to Europe occasionally, as well as I'll always love Hawaii. I've been to all the islands but Kauai.
My place in Guerneville affords access to great local food, as well as some awesome wineries. I feel fortunate to be so close to such amazing places!
In my job and in my life, I'm very detail and goal-oriented. I hope you see that detail and care in both of my homes and enjoy your stay!
