This place has great value in it's price and location. It is much cheaper than any hotel, and it is right by all the great restaurants, the ocean, and shopping. We walked nearly everywhere we went in Barcelona (except Park Guell). And the air conditioning is fabulous.
The other amenities are only mediocre, however. The bed and couch are not comfortable, and the cost of being in a great location is that it is noisy all night. In addition, the staircase to the apartment smelled unpleasant.
If you're on a budget, this place is worth it's value. However, if you like a little more luxury or comfort, this place may leave you unsatisfied.
Carlos was very accommodating since we arrived early. He allowed us to store our suitcases in the apartment while it was being cleaned even though it was hours before check-in time. His communication was exceptional. The apartment can get a little loud at night but only because it is in the heart of everything that is happening. The location is walking distance from Las Ramblas, Plaza Cataluyna (a hub for a lot of buses and tours), and tons of dining and night life.
The apartment was a basic studio apartment. I wouldn't call it fancy, but it was in a very nice location and convenient to the places we wanted to see while visiting Barcelona. We were so tired at night time that the street noise at night really wasn't a problem for us and didn't seem as bad as some of the reviews made it seem. Carlos welcomed us with a lot of information about the area. We had a problem with the air conditioning which he resolved promptly by supplying us with a fan which was suitable for our needs during our stay.
Carlos welcomed us to the apartment and left us with a detailed document of things we could do in Barcelona, which was extremely helpful. He also had purchased a new mattress and bedsheets, which was also great. The listing was fine and met our expectations, as did the neighborhood. The apartment's location is great, and you can walk easily to most attractions -- especially the Picasso museum, which is less than a couple hundred meters away!
Location was perfect, flat was clean enough and very large but amenities left little to be desired. The beauty of renting an apartment is to feel a bit at home in a new city, this apartment is lacking those basic comforts. Furniture needs updating, bed was extremely uncomfortable and you could feel every spring, sheets smelled dirty/damp, there was only 1 pillow (when I asked the host for other pillows he directed me to the decorative pillows on the couch, not sanitary for sleeping on!) there's plenty of space for a nice kitchen table and proper seating area which would make for a nice eating area. Overall fine experience but next time I'd spend the 2 euros more per night and stay in a hotel around the corner.
Firstable thank you for staying in the flat. I washed my self every item in the flat before you enter, we always do it before any customer enter. There is no decorative pillows, all of them are for use, and the covers are clean as well, as i told you when i make you the check in. Next time please have more communication with the host or choose a hotel.
Thanks for staying.
Great location! Picasso museum, the great Barcelona Cathedral, the hop-on hop-off bus stop - all in walking distance. Lots of restaurants around, shopping, "farmers market" - anything you want. Very convenient - you can drop in at any time for a little siesta. On the down side: quite noisy until late at night because of the tourist traffic under the windows; basic foam ear plugs should help.
