About This Listing
Located on the second floor, this room and its petit salon will give you the rest and the fresh silence that you need. Spacious and lighful, with a cozy bathroom made with iroko wood and tadelakt, both classical and modern style will charm you.
This house is very well located in the medina, in the
center of the souks, and only 4mn walking distance from the main
famous square Jema El Fnaa.
This 200 year old house has been restored to a very high and
traditional standard, which is pretty hard to find nowadays.
It can receive up to 20 persons in 7 rooms en suites (all
equiped with private wc & bathroom).
One of the best features is the second level terrace as it's taller
than the other places around.
Therefor, at breakfast or dinner time, you can really enjoy a
special moment with a spectacular view of Marrakesh medina and the
surrounding snow covered Atlas mountains.
You can also rent other rooms or the entire house. Please have a look at my other listings on Airbnb.
My stay at the riad was super relaxing and I would say the highlight of my time in Marrakech. The top patio has an unbeatable view of the city day and night, and everywhere the furnishings are comfortable and classic. Though we didn't get a change to meet, Audrey was very helpful and prompt in our communication with logistics, amazing recommendations, and general advice. I feel like I got a lot out of my relatively short stay because of the great recs.
Huge thanks to the house staff as well for tasty breakfasts, lots of tea, and always being available to answer my questions. This was definitely the right way to stay in Marrakech!
Audrey was a charming host and the email was just a a few metres from the Djaa el Fnaa. In terms of placement - especial during Ramada - it could not be better.
The riad itself is a bit out of date, needing a splash of paint, etc. But by and large a good choice, especially for first timers.
24 of the 28 days that I stayed with Audrey were idyllic. The riad is exquisite and has been beautifully restored, Audrey and Paco were extremely helpful and professional and attended to the few minor problems as soon as they were raised and little daughter Tizia is a darling bundle who adds a charming dimension to their beautiful home. My room was superb, elegant and quiet except when there were noisy, thoughtless guests. The proximity to the medina and major attractions is excellent and the view of the Atlas mountains from the top terrace is spectacular. The riad's cook, Saida, is an effervescent Moroccon Berber who tried to teach me both French and Arabic, as well as Moroccon cuisine during my stay. She is an excellent cook and produced delicious meals (banquets) for a very reasonable price enriching my Moroccon experience.
However, the last 4 nights when I was moved to a different room would rank as one of the WORST experience I have ever had regarding cleanliness. The state of the rug and floors were filthy. As I was moving my things, I was horrified at the state of the the rug and took it out of the room and hung it over the balcony revealing the filthy floor underneath. Kajida (the house cleaner) was angry with me for doing so because all the dirt from the rug was falling downstairs. She did sweep the floor and gave a cursory sweep to the rug before replacing it, but it was still filthy. That night I removed the rug to the balcony, out of sight from other guests, and got down on my hands and knees and washed the floor ...... twice..... the state of the towel which I used was a testimony to the dirtiness of the floor.
THIS ONLY REFERS TO THE ROOM I WAS MOVED TO FOR THE LAST 4 NIGHTS) .... NOT TO THE PREVIOUS ROOM I HAD FOR 24 NIGHTS.. WHICH WAS CLEAN AND BEAUTIFUL.
Audrey was always very helpful, friendly, and went out of her way to make all the guests (including me) feel very welcome. 4 days do not cancel out 24. She runs an extremely good B&B riad and I was very happy there. If I return to Marrakech I would not hesitate to stay again in my "elegant & quiet room on 2nd floor". I mention the dirtiness of the rug and floor in that room to ensure that this does not happen again to other guests.
The riad is calm, beautiful and perfectly located. The rooftop patio is idyllic... just right for breakfast on a sunny day.
Even though she wasn't there for our trip, Audrey was very responsive and organised everything through Khadija and Saida, who were both lovely. Saida cooked us couscous one evening and it was my favourite meal of the trip!
The riad is an absolutely incredible place in the center of Marrakech. The room is beautifully decorated in an authentic way and very clean. There is a terrace where you can have breakfast or relax with breathtaking views of the city. The riad also offers to cook dinner for you. There is a super friendly cook whom you can tell exactly what you would like to eat. Depending on the season, dinner is served in another incredibly beautifully decorated room with an open chimney.
There were two staff members (a house maid and a cook). They were extremely helpful and attentive.
Absolutely recommended for a stay in Marrakech.
We spend our first 4 days in Marokko in Audreys Riad. It was as beautiful as on the photos and our room was also as we had hoped! Unfortunately we came while the weather was quite cold, so we only spend very little time on the upper terrasse. And unfortunately we had not the pleasure of meeting Audrey, so the only people we met was Khadija and Saida, who made our breakfast and clean our room. Unfortunately our french was not good at all, and they could not speak english, so it was very hard to communicate! It would have been nice to be able to get some advice and tips about Marrakech! But I did talk to Audrey and she said she would teach them some english! And if we every come back to Marrakech, maybe we would be lucky to be there at the same time as Audrey! But the girls did try their best to understand and make our stay as good as possible! And it was a nice stay, nice breakfast, beautiful room, very magical and we would love to come back when the weather is better and experience the Riad in warmer weather!!

About the Host, Audrey
We'd describe ourselves as open minded and dynamic people, always fascinated by meeting other people from all over the world.
We know how to enjoy the present moment but also always organizing activities and new changes in order to satisfy the best as we can our guests, friends or family.
Most part of the time we like to get out from the classical roads...both on a concrete and figurative way...
We love making people feeling good and happy.
And we've found very difficult to describe ourselves !
Thank you for your understanding...
Audrey & Paco
