Beautiful Augusta Western Australia

House - Private room · Cygnet Crescent, Augusta, WA 6290, Australia

The Space

Come and enjoy one of the most beautiful parts of Western Australia, the Southwest Cape to Cape Region, the one and only Augusta (just over 3h south of Perth). It is a quiet and just beautiful little town at the most southwestern tip of the continent (Cape Leeuwin).

Have a look at the 2 following websites to see what’s on offer:

Our guestroom is simple, but clean. It’s one flight up the stairs, next to the open-plan office, and comprises of a good quality sofa bed, with 2 separate mattresses. The bed is 1.5m by 2m and is on the firm side of things. A little table with 2 chairs will compliment your stay.

Downstairs you'll have your own bathroom including shower and toilet. Kitchen usage is welcomed, but keep in mind that we don’t have a microwave as we believe it is not contributing to a good health.

So you can listen to music, watch TV or enjoy our breathtaking views, and/or we can sit together for a chat. You can also use our internet for your correspondence.

But more importantly enjoy our beautiful beaches and go for a walk to see what is so unique about this place. With a bit of luck (depending on the time of the year) you can see dolphins, stingrays, pelicans, and even whales or seals. You can go surfing, kiting, windsurfing, cycling, snorkeling, swimming, fishing or whatever.

Between December and March Augusta would earn itself a medal for a worldclass spot for windsurfing and kitesurfing. See the following weather chart which is daily updated:

The possibilities are almost endless. Some might enjoy a caves tour, others a visit to one of the wineries. Some will enjoy a bushwalk to catching up with kangaroos, others a visit to our lighthouse.

Try to count the stars at nighttime, there is no chance for you to succeed. Please feel welcome.

Price for a one person is A$ 55 per night, for a couple A$ 88 per night.

P.S.: The whale photo is self-made, so please apologize for the poor quality. Nothing comes close if you have your coffee in the moring and a flock of whales is jumping up and down in front of your living room....

  • We enjoyed staying at Birgit's and Michael's house. The house has a beautiful oceanview and we could see dolphins right through the windows of their house. It is really clean and tidy. Both were very friendly and helpful. We definitely would stay there again.

  • My stay with Michael and Birgit was fantastic!! They are such nice and lovely people. And since I stayed for a full week, we had a few opportunities to sit down together and have some nice and joyful talks. Moreover they we’re very helpful in giving information on things to see or do in the surrounding area. The house is beautiful and has the most amazing view! The room and personal bathroom are very comfortable and nice. Moreover, I just loved Augusta and the surroundings, it’s so beautiful and peaceful. I definitely hope that I will be able to stay at their place again in the future!!

  • We had a lovely two days at Michael and Birgit's house. They were incredibly accommodating and helpful and we enjoyed chatting with them over a glass of wine. The house is beautiful, with an unrivalled view of the estuary and ocean. It was clean, comfortable, and well located a short walk from the river, beach, and town.

  • I had an amazing time staying with Birgit and Michael. Their home is open and airy with a beautiful view of the Coast and Blackwood River and my room was very comfortable. My hosts were informative about all the most beautiful spots to visit in the area. Including swimming and snorkelling. In the evening we admired the beautiful array of stars visible in the area.
In Augusta you can find the real Australia. There is a museum, boat trips up the River, with commentary from a local and talks by a 5th and 3rd generation cattle and fisherman about the old days with Damper and tea brewed in a Billie can.
