Adventure seekers come to hang glide, parachute, base jump, rock climb or mountain bike ride. Amazing mountain walks with stunning views at every turn wait for your camera. Enjoy winter sports of skiing, sledding, skating or a sauna in the apartment building. Others come to soak in the lush greens and colours of summer, delight in the clean air and savour the pure water. Time spent on the Balcony will always be refreshing as the Waterfalls seem endless and the White Lutchine hurries along as you contemplate what to do with your day.
Rest, relax and rejuvenate at Ruhe in Ey Hus 5 Perfect for a couple who want a quiet space to lounge in. A large table to spread out the newspaper or a cosy corner to sink into with a book. Perhaps you might refresh your mind through the mesmerizing Staubbach Falls from the balcony, living room or bedroom. Watch the water chase itself down the cliff in foamy cascades. Beautifully illuminated at night, the Falls go on tumbling. In winter, the occasional sharp crack of ice can be heard echoing down the valley from the snowy peaks reminding you that nature is alive. Every season has special features but you can always enjoy the brook by the Ey Hus gurgling its secrets in the peacefulness.
This non-smoking, no pets 2 room apartment 50 m2, on the first floor has warm furnishings, carpet with central/floor heating that you can change. 1 sleeping room with EU king sized bed, 1 Singe bed & 1 floor mattress that can be put into the lounge (more comfy than a sofa bed) also travel cot if needed can be rented for 10CHF per night. EyHus is a small quiet apartment building of 7 residences. With your own separate washer, dryer, tub, and bag storage room, shared ski room with own ski locker, Table Tennis, . All-season access with exclusive use undercover parking. On the bus line to either Schilthorn Cable station to ski Mürren/Schilthorn, or to Lauterbrunnen for train to Wengen/Kleine Scheidegg. Free ski bus in winter. Walk is 15 minutes to Lauterbrunnen station and is well serviced with amazing cheese, meat and bakery shops as well as ski hire, bike, hairdressing, watch and gift shops, restaurants, cafes, 2 banks, Post, petrol, Tourist office (super helpful), adventure sports booking, swimming pool, mini golf, tennis, (Cross Country ski track to Stechelberg), geocaching, and supermarket. The walk will take you longer when you take time to enjoy the Lütschine, the pretty views and sit to paint the mountains from the South facing seat near the EWL. (We think J.R.R. Tolkien painted from here for his inspiration for Rivendell in ‘Lord of the Rings’.) 3 Star Accreditation from the Swiss Tourism Federation
Places to eat and shop
It is 8 minute stroll to village where there are Horner Pub, Airtime Cafe, Staubbach Hotel, Base Time, Flavours cafe, Kebab shop, Steinbock hotel (pizzas are great) and Oberland and Silberhorn hotels for upmarket dining and bakery with light snacks and supermarket. 2 ATMS in village.....walking the other direction along the river is the camping Jungfrau that is 5 minutes walk for a little store open Sundays, ATM and a pizza take away and a very nice restaurant.
Further up the valley at Trummelbach falls is a the tea house open for light snack during the day. About a 30 minute walk.
At the Cable car station to Schilthorn, in summer, there are some fast food vans while you watch the paragliders land.
At Stechelberg is the Hotel with a lovely garden with views and a good local menu. Easy ride back with the bus.
