Interaction with guests

We are travelers ourselves and we know how difficult communication can be in a foreign country and that transport delays can occur. For this reason, we have a locked keybox check-in system that will allow you to arrive at a time that suits you (within our advised times), without needing to stay in contact with your arrival time.
We are readily available to answer any questions you may have and have included a neighbourhood guide of recommendations in the local area both in the house and on our Airbnb profile.
You can also find answers to many questions you may have provided in a guidebook inside the house and on our page on Facey "CharmingHouseHaarlem".

Other things to note

*** Sorry, we DO NOT accept any four-legged family members (pets). ***

*** Please be aware if booking with children or elderly people, that we have very steep and traditional Dutch stairs that may prove a mobility issue.
Please refer to the photographs as a reference before booking.
However, we have multiple handrails and have had many senior guests and children stay in the past that haven't found this to be an issue and have embraced them as part of the charm of living like the Dutch. ***

Please ensure you book for the correct amount of guests when booking, as we have additional charges for more than 2 guests, including children. We have additional costs, cleaning times and tourist taxes to declare, so we appreciate your honesty and fairness.
We also have a baby-bed for hire at €15 per stay for children (Please ensure you request this if needed).

We hope you enjoy your stay at Charming House!

We would greatly appreciate it if you could adhere to the following during your stay:

1. We encourage you to be environmentally conscious and try to minimise your energy usage. Please:
- Turn off lights and turn down the heater (around 10 degrees) when you leave the property and go to bed.
- Use the quick cycle programs for the washing machine and dishwasher, where possible.
- If the sun is shining, use the clothes line outside rather than the Clothes Dryer.
- Be mindful of your waste and try to recycle (More information on how to do so is readily available in the house).

2. Please refrain from smoking inside, the backyard is accessible and partially covered for those who wish to smoke.

3. We understand accidents can happen. If something breaks during your stay, please let us know so we can repair it for future guests. Also, if you spill something, we would appreciate you doing your utmost to clean it so that it does not stain.

4. Please leave the house in a reasonably clean condition. Wash and put away your dishes before you leave and if you move the furniture or house items, please return them to their original positions before your departure.

Please treat our house as you would your mother's. :)
We will try and be readily contactable via email at all times before and during your stay, so please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Enjoy your holiday!

Rudy and Bea's place... just awesome. Location: VERY central to Haarlem, right off the Main Street. With that, they're nearby a parking garage that has a bit of noise and light pollution, but don't be alarmed. This is city life, and you adapt and draw the shades closed and sleep in pitch black. I took the 300 bus from AMS Schipol, which was a 30 minute trip, but no transfers and €5 fare. Great deal. Amenities, cleanliness, direction: Rudy and bea's has everything. Iron, drying rack, washer/dryer (separate units, even!), cooking utensils and cutlery. Everything was well cleaned upon my arrival, without feeling "sterile". They labeled things nicely, which was AWESOME, and very helpful. Don't forget to check the coffee table card!

Rudy and Bea's cottage was perfect for us. The location is great, very close to the town center but on a quiet street. The bed was very comfortable. The internet was excellent. We loved the decor and enjoyed listening to their great playlist while relaxing on the patio. Unfortunately we did not get to meet this interesting couple, but communication was not a problem. There were also instructions on how to use everything in the house. I highly recommend this charming home if you are coming to Haarlem.

We had a lovely stay in Haarlem and The location of the house was perfect for us. Communication with Rudy & Bea was excellent from the moment we booked until our arrival, offering any information you may need. The stairs are very steep but not as daunting as other Dutch houses we have stayed in due to the firm handrails. We weren't brave enough to take our cases upstairs, we had been travelling for 3 weeks before arriving in Holland. With 2 cases open downstairs we were a bit tight for space but as we were out for most of the day it didn't cause a problem. The kitchen has everything you could need and was perfectly well equipped for our 4 night stay. A dish cloth would have been handy to wipe down the sides. There is a ledge above the bed, we both banged our head on it our first night so it is something to be mindful of. Having said that the bed is very comfortable ensuring a good nights sleep. The bedroom is spacious, for a couple, & the bathroom is very well equipped with anything you could need, huge sink with effective hot water & the shower drains quickly after use. We struggled to see the numbers on the key box when returning & leaving in the dark, definitely a torch & glasses job! We really enjoyed our stay, Haarlem is a wonderful place and we intend to return again soon.

We had a fantastic stay at Rudy & Bea's lovely townhouse. The house was spotless and ready upon our arrival and Rudy & Bea were incredibly responsive and flexible, an invaluable perk when travelling with our toddler. The location could not have been better: tucked on a side street, but walking distance to nearly everything. We also had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant right next door. Highly reccommended for a magical stay in Haarlem!

This is a lovely little town house, central to the quiet (when we were there) charming town of Haarlem.. A quick train (25 mins) or bus ride to and from Amsterdam so it's a great place and home to have the quiet life and dip your toes in the thrills of Amsterdam.. Rudy and Beas place is charming and cosy with a handy patio area. The bed seems to have gained a mythical status and all I can say that yep.. thing is setting new standards. Try and peal your self out of it to enjoy the other little cozy parts of the house. Get out even, but yeah.. The place is a perfect little base to explore from. Big up
