A deck in the back overlooks a relaxing garden area with rabbits, birds and more. I love to sit in the back and relax waiting for the occasional train to pass by. It feels like being in a model railroad display when the train goes by. Make a pose and wave to the engineer. It is quiet with large trees and plenty of greenery and sky. Feels like country living in the city.

Thank you for allowing me to stay and for turning on the heat!!! I enjoyed myself once again. See you some time later in the spring.
I stayed at Dorothy's home for three nights and would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a clean and affordable spot in Buffalo. She was very attentive and we especially enjoyed being able to sit out on the back patio. There was coffee available in the kitchen - a nice touch. And all the linens and towels were very clean. The bed was very comfortable too. Unless you're a very light sleeper, you're likely to enjoy the train that passes by somewhat regularly. It gave the house with its trained-themed decorations character. Downtown Buffalo was a 15 minute drive and Elmwood Village was even closer.
Dorothy made my son, daughter-in-law and myself feel very much at home and welcome. We were in the process of moving from an apartment to the kids' new house. Unfortunately, the house was not ready and we had no place to go. Dorothy came to the rescue. The accommodations met all of our expectations and Dorothy was easy to communicate with. Highly recommend.
Dorothy was awesome. The place was perfect. Dorothy was such an amazing host and a huge help with the town. Thank you so much
Dorothy was a perfect host - I am sorry we didn't get to meet her in person - we set up all the details of our trip ahead of time - communication is excellent and fast - we were a big party coming from different places and she made it all go smoothly. I was especially grateful for the toys and small chairs and gate she left in the house for my toddler to use during out stay! So thoughtful. And he loved the train! As did we :) Thanks, Dorothy!
Dorothy was a very welcoming host. She contacted us a few days before our arrival and followed up with us after we had arrived. The house was clean, well stocked and in a perfect area. There is a great bagel shop around the corner, lots of shopping for whatever you may need and a quick hop onto the highway to head up to Niagara Falls. A bonus was getting to watch the trains roll by in the backyard. They are NOT loud, never heard them at night. Just great fun to watch! A very relaxing, homey spot. Definitely recommend and would return.

I love Buffalo weather. The four seasons are great. An early November snow storm has brighten up the dark winter nights and gave us another snow story. It did not hit the apartments in North Buffalo, but I did have 4-5 feet of snow in South Buffalo. I am so glad that I bought a new snow thrower just before the storm. Snow is so beautiful. Fun in the snow.
The fall colors were beautiful this year. Spring flowers are planted and looking forward to summer. I love Western New York.
Come stay at Colvin Meadows and I will show you around Buffalo, Niagara Western New York.
