10-minutes’ from the city centre, this historic mews in Edinburgh’s Georgian New Town has been brought right up to date with a zen-inspired interior. It's an ideal haven for couples but it can accommodate up to four people.

The master bedroom's wall of closet space incorporates a dressing table with make-up mirror and hair dryer. It also has black-out blinds, so you’ll enjoy a deep sleep in the king-size bed with its high thread-count sheets, goose-down duvet and sumptuous velvet cushions.

The space
The fitted kitchen has everything a cook needs lots of pots, pans, glasses, cutlery and crockery, as well as a micro-wave, gas hob, electric oven, integrated fridge and dishwasher.

Coffee lovers can choose from an Aeropress, a classic cafetière, or the beautiful vintage espresso-maker by Pavoni. A small selection of Edinburgh teas is also provided.

The bathroom has heated towel rails and a deep, Japanese-style soaking tub, with a separate walk-in Hansgrohe power-shower: the stainless-steel hand basin and toilet are by Alessi. Top quality towels and superlative plant-based hair & body products are provided for all guests.

The second bedroom has a queen-size sofa-bed and a wall of closet space, but it’s also a dedicated study with a floor-to-ceiling bookcase and a custom-built desk: a perfect retreat for the working traveller.

If you want to use the second bedroom, there is an additional charge of £25 per night per person: please mention this when you first get in touch.

If you’re driving, you can also securely park your vehicle in the integrated garage which is 5 metres long with 2 metres of clearance, so an estate car should fit. Mop

Guest access
You will have access to the entire apartment, which has everything you need for a comfortable stay in this UNESCO World Heritage city centre. There is free, ultra-fast Wi-Fi, and a Sony Smart TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime and many other channels.

Should you need laundry facilities, a Braun washing machine and tumble dryer are available on request.

Other Things to Note
The apartment is always prepared to the highest standard, and strictly non-smoking. We ask that you respect it and its contents, and remember that you will be liable for any damages during your stay.

Check in is 4.00 pm, check out at 11.00 am but we can be flexible, so please ask. 4 nights is usually our maximum stay, but longer rentals may be available: once again, please ask.

Other things to note
If you’re travelling onwards in Scotland, I recommend the guidebook ‘Scotland the Best’ by Peter Irvine. It really is ‘the insider’s guide’ on where to go, what to see and what to do in Scotland. We regard it as invaluable, and we never leave home without it!

Location

Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom

Edinburgh is one of Britain's most beautiful cities. Surrounded by the quaint cobbled streets and glorious Georgian architecture of the New Town, the apartment is ideally situated for Edinburgh’s galleries and historic sites. Of course, you must visit the Castle, the Palace of Holyrood, and the Royal Mile that joins them, but there are lots of less crowded attractions even closer at hand.

In the nearby ‘East Village’ of Broughton Street, you’ll find quirky cafés and highly-rated restaurants, as well as a health food store, a butcher, a baker and even an old-school fishmonger!

To the west, you could easily spend a day in the charming ‘city village’ of Stockbridge with its antique shops, delis, bars and its acclaimed Sunday food market.

To the south, The Scottish National Portrait Gallery is just a short walk away. Its world-class collection of paintings and photography is well worth a visit, as is its deservedly popular café.

Walk five minutes more, and you’ll find yourself at the National Gallery of Scotland with its extensive collection of Old Master paintings including important works by Titian, Velasquez, Turner and many others. Their café is pretty good too, although you might want to visit the nearby Balmoral Hotel for a traditional Scottish Afternoon Tea.

A gentle ten minutes’ stroll to the north will bring you to Edinburgh’s Royal Botanical Garden, an oasis of peace and tranquillity in the heart of the city, and one of the finest botanical gardens in the world. En route, why not pick up some essentials from the nearby Tesco supermarket, or stop off at a variety of atmospheric local pubs and bars?

I was lucky to spend 25 years working as a producer/director, which allowed me to stay in some amazing places around the world and my apartment was very much inspired by what I learned on my travels. I love nature & wild places, music & books, food & wine, art & architecture, languages & people. I'm not fluent, but I speak some French, Italian and Spanish. I was born here in Edinburgh and I want to help you enjoy the best of it, so please check out my guidebook, and feel free to ask me more Slainte, Tim
