Jon has been friendly and answered quickly to my sms.
The apartment was clean and as shown in the pictures. The position is near Pen Station and really nice with a lot of food shops nearby.
I arrived about the time I said I would and Jon had a neighbor let me in the apartment which worked out fine. Neighborhood is pretty quiet for Manhattan which is very important to me since I'm a light sleeper. The place could use some cleaning as some other reviews mentioned. But considering the price I was satisfied. Though not the cleanest place I would prefer staying here over a hotel. The building is very quiet and since the apartment is on the 3rd floor you don't hear anybody above you (3rd floor walkup apartment). I did not eat in the apartment so the kitchen was not used. Their is no kitchen sink but there is a big laundry sink in the bathroom so not a big deal. Nice to have a refrigerator and microwave. Good air conditioner which is another important feature when it's 97 degrees outside. I never ventured up to the roof so I have no idea what I missed up there?
Jon's place was great and he was very accessible and flexible regarding check-in and check-out times. The apartment was clean, close to everything we needed and full of little charming touches. We would definitely come back, especially to hang out on the roof garden!
We had a great time at Jon's studio. The location is just perfect and it's fast and easy to get around town. The studio is fine and safe and especially does the roof garden add extra value, having breakfast in the morning sun there is a treat.
Jon was a great communicator throughout the trip. We discussed my needs well ahead of time and touched base several times before arrival. When we got there everything was as expected. He reached out a couple times during the stay checking in on us.
The place itself is a block or 2 away from MSG and penn stn up 2 flights of stairs. Convenient for us. The studio was a bit cramped for 4 but we survived. It's not a newer place but it served its purpose.
I'd stay with Jon again but probably at a different location (if he has them).
The apartment is very central and especially good for the High Line. Communications with Jon were very easy. The apartment is one room plus showeroom and very cosy although the "kitchen" is very basic ie camping stoves. Would we stay again ? Yes. For price and location it's hard to beat.
Jon was a great host. The place was very clean, and accommodating. We had a travel schedule change and Jon was very easy to work with. The apartment is conveniently located. I would highly recommend staying there
