Other Things to Note
Unfortunately there is no Wifi in the apartment so I hope that you can manage with, f.e. your mobile phone Internet access. Please remove the bathroom rug before you shower, otherwise it'll be soaked.
Smoking is not allowed in the apartment. Pets are welcomed. Please take the trash out before your final departure, thanks.
Sanna was very thoughtful and she always replied quickly. She was all the time available for answering my questions. The studio is as shown in the pictures: small but very cosy. It is near the city center and almost in the main campus.
We met perfectly timed for the hand over. The apartment was prepared an equipped with everything needed to feel comfortable. A grocery store across the street, the city center in walking distance, even in snowy midwinter, for shopping and it is tempting to hang out late. Very quiet neighborhood, so the nights were relaxing. I enjoyed this place, fitting my purposes at a business trip.
We were at Sanna's apartment just one day and we very liked her cosy studio in a romantic style in the city center. We had everything we needed and it's was awesome.
I definitely recommend this studio
Thank you Sanna))
My boyfriend and I stayed at Sanna's place for a week and Sanna was very helpful even though she was ill. She also gave us nice recommendations for a dinner out! The location is great: just next to the city center and near the lake and park. As we stayed for a week, the kitchen tools (pots and pans) were quite small, but we went out for dinner a lot so it didn't really matter after al :) We would definitely recommend this place!
Jyvakkyla was a great town to visit and Sanna'a place is well located half way between the University and the center.
We had no trouble communicating with Sanna before, during and upon leaving even though we never actually met. The time change meant it sometimes took a day, but that worked out fine.
Her apartment is compact with a handsomely updated kitchen and otherwise eclectic decor. The bedroom (bed - a bit soft) was tight - best suited for one person. My wife took the bed and I managed well on a fold out mattress on the living room floor.
A few instructions on how to run things would have been helpful, but we managed everything except the clothes washer which was just a bit too complicated.
Internet access would also be helpful, but there was a cafe with wireless nearby.
All in all, we enjoyed Jyvaskyla and Sanna's place. We would definitely consider it again should we return to the area.
I am a faculty member of the U of J (Dept. of Art and Culture Studies), living and working in two separate cities in Finland. I spend half a week in Oulu where my family lives and another half of the week in Jyvaskyla. By offering my flat for short-term rental when not in Jyvaskyla I have wanted to offer an accommodation opportunity different from pricy hotels (that many times lack character) to people visiting Jyvaskyla. The cat in my profile picture does not live in Jyvaskyla :).
