The Space

Welcome to the town of Sonoma!

This remodeled Mediterranean style B&B/home in a secluded neighborhood features hardwood floors, cathedral ceilings, local artist's paintings on walls, central air and heating, WiFi, 60" Cable TV in a large family room, and a very large outdoor deck with grill. The newly remodeled kitchen has a 5 burner gas stove w/oven, range, microwave and all the essentials to prepare and cook wonderful meals. We always have a various assortment of coffee and teas ready for brewing. Please feel free to use any staples or goodies from the pantry or pick herbs and vegetables from the outdoor garden.

This is a four bedroom house with 3 bedrooms / two bathrooms for guests upstairs and a separate private entrance way apartment being used by caretaker/owner.

Located just under a mile from the historic downtown Square. Sonoma is One hour North of San Francisco, One hour East of the Pacific Ocean and right in the middle of wine country.

We freely offer maps of wine country and give advice on best wineries/restaurants/hiking trails/ bike riding routes and other points of interest in the valley/county.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • The awesome host and homeowner met us early at our request and showed us around the property. It was a lovely clean home on a very quiet, tree lined street in Sonoma. There were 3 bedrooms with very comfortable beds. They had coffee and juice available and a fully stocked kitchen. The patio was large, very private and surrounded by beautiful fruit trees. We had friends over for a glass of wine and enjoyed the space. The neighbors have asked their guests to be inside by 8:00 PM, otherwise we would have stayed out there longer.
I left a jacket in the closet and the host immediately called me and mailed it back to me.

  • Thorne's place perfect, clean and very well stocked, with a great porch for BBQ. We had a great time, Thorne rented us bikes at a fabulous rate, and we also walked to town via the nearby paths. All in (email hidden) to stay.

  • I stayed at Thorne's house for four nights in early June along with three friends. Thorne met us at the house when we arrived, and he was a wonderful resource of information about Sonoma, local restaurants, and wineries. The house was very convenient and a nice walk to town in the morning for breakfast. Thorne was also very responsive to our initial request for booking as well as our follow up communications. The kitchen was nicely stocked, and Thorne had helpful tourist information available in the house for our reference. We really didn't miss not having air conditioning; the house has good cross-ventilation and a power vent, so sleeping at night in early June was quite comfortable. We also enjoyed the piano!

  • It was exactly what we wanted, spacious, beautiful home with plenty of room. We had a wonderful time in Sonoma. Beautiful area and Thorne was willing to provide recommendations and had maps about the area.

  • Thorne (email hidden)! The neighborhood was safe, and the house was well stocked with everything we would need. Walking distance to the Sonoma square and to the hotel where the wedding we attended was located. Would definitely recommend staying here versus the expensive hotels -- we saved a lot of money over the holiday weekend.

  • Thorne was very thorough and helpful with property. His follow up and communication was impeccable. The house looks "very lived in" in a good sense. There is a very big backyard and there is enough open space for everyone to get there own personal space. There are no houses across the street, just a park trail. The home is easy to find. Thorne was very flexible in letting us check in a few hours early.

    Response from Thorne:

Thanks so much for the nice review:) Also, thanks for telling me about the door. I replaced the door knob Friday two hours before the next guests:) Hope you (email hidden) with your wife:)

  • We cannot say enough about our experience in Sonoma! The Bertrand's provided a wonderful, cozy and centrally located home. Thorne was very accommodating, had an excellent knowledge of the area, and was, above all, very easy to deal with.

The home itself was charming and comfortable, with a nearly fully stocked fridge, and beautiful deck overlooking a garden.

My husband and I would not hesitate to do business with Thorne again.

  • My friends and I had a wonderful stay at Thorne's home! We had a wedding in Sonoma and he was very helpful with wineries to visit and recommendations for restaurants. He also rented out a bike to each of us so we could travel in style to the vineyards!

If I am ever back in Sonoma, I would definitely stay here again!

  • Our stay at the home was great - the house is clean and beds were comfortable. The house is located in a cute and quiet neighborhood but close to downtown Sonoma. Thorne was a pleasure to deal with - excellent and quick communications, very friendly and thoughtful. He had coffee for the mornings and even a bottle of wine chilling for us upon arrival. He let us store some of our wine purchases and bags there until late in the day - much appreciated.
