Cabana sits on the edge of a canyon with black squirrels, coatimundi, agouti and heaps of birds. It's quite peaceful, classically rustic and fairly private. Has a porch, one bathroom, electric hot water tank, yard and parking for one car. Includes WiFi and shared washer/dryer. No smoking in the Casita, small pets will be considered upon inquiry. 25 minute walk to town, taxis are $2. If you come from/go to main road at stairs it should be $1. Heaps of info in listing to be self sufficient!

The space
Very peaceful space, looking out into a jungle canyon. You can kick back in the hammock and with any luck the Coatimundi family will come through or more rarely an agouti. People have liked the closeness to town but having the option of being in nature. There are also fresh herbs and aloe in my garden, happy to show you! May also be Panamanian limes on the tree, depending on time of year...

Guest access
There is a yard and for any folks that are staying long term, you're welcome to garden. The shared laundry is under the porch of the log cabin on the property, about 75 feet away. I just ask that laundry is done between the hours of 8am-4pm because it is right under my porch. Else you can take laundry in and get it done for $3, happy to show you where!

Other things to note
Since starting this I've found that people usually regret only staying two nights in Boquete. They've extended when no one else was coming but that's not always an option once they're here. Something to keep in mind!

Location

Boquete, Chiriquí Province, Panama

Very quiet and safe neighbourhood, with little to no interaction with neighbours as we are very spread out. Due to this a bit of wildlife can be seen from the porch.

I was born in Colorado and lived most my life on the west coast of the US. I lived in Australia for five years and have lived in Panama since January of 2018. I love to travel and experience new things! I also love music, good food, great wine, intellectual conversation, riding motorcycles, scuba diving and reading. I'm very respectful of other people's things and space. I'm organised, laid back and do my best to leave things as I found them. I can rough it but also like experiencing the finer things in life when it's reasonable or I can afford it. I've been to: Mexico, Canada, Brasil, Guam, Belize, Costa Rica, Argentina, Uruguay, Ecuador, Chile, Indonesia, Solomon Islands, Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand and London. Hope to backpack some of Europe soon! "Life is a Journey, Not a Destination" "Get busy living or get busy dying." "Not all who wander are lost."

During your stay
I am social but also respect people's space, so I'll take clues from you on what you want. I'm usually puttering around my yard in the morning, playing with my two cats. I also tend to communicate via WhatsApp, again to respect space/privacy.
