## Great Location ##
The apartment sits on Kawaramchi-dori street,
5 minutes from Kawaramachi station,
which means you have a very easy access
to famous tourist attractions in Kyoto.
The Kamogawa River, Gion town, Yasaka Shrine and Nishiki Market are just minutes away on foot.
In mid July, you can enjoy the famous Gion festival parade of decorative floats in a 5-minute walk.
If you are knocked out by the scorching summer heat of Kyoto, you can soon go back to the apartment and cool yourself.
The trendy Karasuma area is just 2 minutes by train (the next stop) from Kawaramachi station,
approx 10-minute walk from the apartment.
## MUST in Kyoto～2 Bikes! ##
Although train stations are nearby and you'll
easily find bus stops bound for every part of Kyoto city near Kawaramachi station,
I recommend you ride a bike I offer you if the weather allows.
Streets in Kyoto are basically laid out in a grid pattern, so you wouldn't find it so difficult to get to your destination.
From my aparmtent, I actually went to World heritages such as;
*Ryouanji-temple (10min from Kinkakuji)
by my little bike !
On the way to those sights, you can enjoy alleyways with full of local atmosphere exploring unknown temples, unique shops, etc.
The apartment building (quite huge with 200 rooms) is not brand-new, but it stays clean and tidy as the caretaker staffed during the day takes good care of it.
Although the building faces busy streets,
my studio on the 8th floor is very quiet and peaceful !
What you will see from the balcony is a temple and its grave !?
(no need to worry about zombies as the dead are MOSTLY cremated in Japan)
The apartment building lies long. After one minute corridor walk from the east gate to the west, you will reach Teramachi-dori street,
where you can find supermarkets, a 100 yen convenience store, cafes, restaurants, pc stores, antique shops, second-hand book stores, etc.
The studio might be a small for guests from large countries.
But this is a typical Japanese 80's apartment and I hope you'll enjoy the size.
If you have a companion, you could get closer to each other or break up because of your snoring.
KYOTO STATION (JR Line): 15min by bus
(No.4 or 17 or 205)/10 min by taxi/30-40min walk
*The nearest bus stop to the apartment is KAWARAMACHI-MATSUBARA (one stop before KAWARAKACHI), 3 min from the apartment.
KAWARAMACHI STATION (Hankyu Line): 5 min walk
GION-SHIJYO STATION (Keihan Line): 8 min walk
TO OSAKA: 30 min from KYOTO JR station by express train
or 43min from KAWARAMACHI Hankyu station to UMEDA by express train
TO KOBE: 20 min from OSAKA JR by express
TO NARA：44min from KYOTO JR
TO LAKE BIWA (the biggest lake in Japan):

We had the most wonderful experience here in Kyoto & one of them was staying in Yuko's cosy apartment. It fulfilled our basic necessity & more. We hit the jack pot by staying here :)
Yuko was an absolute sweetheart. Before the day of arrival, she would reconfirm with us on the date & time, giving us plenty of tips. She would check on us to make sure we had a great time along the way. Afira was also very friendly & helpful. She assisted us once we arrived.
The place is in walking distance to Nishiki Market, shopping mall, convenience stores, train station & bus stop. I could just go on & on listing down the greatness of this place but it would be better for others to experience it for themselves. Will definitely book here if visiting Kyoto again.
Thank you Yuko for your warmth, kindness & hospitality. Will surely miss Kyoto!
Yuko's place very strategic and clean. Close to kawaramachi, Takashimaya and other shopping place . She provide us a few drinks in the fridge, map of bus and everything. She very helpfull during our stay in Kyoto. She help us buy Shinkansen ticket. She always answer all my question.I reccomended Yuko's place.
Before we arrived, and we actively contact. And learn about our arrival time and manner.
After we got in, knowing that our English and Japanese is not good, also found the Taiwan people to contact us, afraid of her services there is a need to place. Rooms have a lot of information, such as: restaurant data information and self-service laundry and tourist information. Thank Yuko's help, let us have a pleasant stay in Kyoto. We hope to soon have the opportunity to come back here.
The place is lovely and very well located. Yuko gives you all the tips to make you confortable and find yourself in Kyoto!!! She is a lovely person that everytime tries to help you! The place is really good and clean! Definitely I recommend stay there!
Yuko is a wonderful host, very informative and friendly - even though we did not get to meet her. The apartment was in a great location, close to markets and the gion district. It is well equipped with everything needed and has English translations for the washing machine etc. which was fantastic! Even in the cold we were warm and comfortable, it was a great stay. I would recommend this place to anyone!
I had a great time staying in Yuko's apartment. It is very centrally located in Kyoto! Although Yuko was not there she had a very nice neighbor help us into the apartment. Yuko kept in touch via email and left many helpful instruction all around the apartment. The best part was a map she drew with directions to all the best places to see in Kyoto. Thank you Yuko for a great stay!!!
Hello, there ! I'm YUKO.
I was born in OSAKA (in the 60's) and have been living in KOBE over 20 years. Me & my husband, hot fans of KYOTO, often visit there to retreat from the city of KOBE that is too modern and clean.
We got this apartment a couple of years ago as a home base to renovate an old terrace house of the western part of Kyoto.
Kyoto has millions of old houses in need of renovation because they are not allowed to be rebuilt.
It was really fun to paint the walls and board the floors in the hot and humid summer without a/c ! and now 2 foreign students are living in the house (with a/c !).
After the renovation, we came to think it would be a waste to use such a cozy and convenient place only for ourselves. So we'd be more than happy if you made use of our place to enjoy Kyoto to the utmost.
(Don't worry ! The studio is not self-renovated)
It is really a shame that we cannot see you, but our friends, Hazuki (Taiwanese beauty) and Afira (Indonesian cute), both fluent in English, will take care of you, giving you the apartment keys and showing you around the studio.
## More about us ##
We have a company which runs second-hand media product shops.
We buy and sell comics, games, toys, (that is, OTAKU items), clothes, musical instruments, etc. from and to people. We've been in the business over 20 years.
I enjoy drinking, esp. SAKE, playing tennis and the steel drum.
I love watching Japanese films and sometimes do Tai Chi.
My motto is "Love the life you live, Live the life you love".
My husband was once a professional punk musician when he was a brat. (before punk, a jazz guitarist, rather unusual)
Now he is a businessman and a great lover of all sorts of music,
a bookworm and an epicure. His motto is " To eat is to live" ...
We hope you'll have a great unforgettable time in Kyoto!!!
