  • Ed and Julie's place was beyond fantastic. We stayed a week and just felt so happy there, the cabana is so comfy and has everything you need, the garden is AAmazing!!! We enjoyed sitting on the wooden bench Ed built and look at the beautiful waves. Ed is a great host and will help you with anything you might need. Cahuita as a town is very nice, great to visit Puerto Viejo during the day and go back "home" to the glorious garden. Love seeing all the animals around the area. We will surely be back again to visit in the future!

  • Ed and Julie have a very nice place and Ed was very helpful. Not a lot to do in the area so we kicked back and relaxed mostly. The internet is down a lot which was frustrating.

  • We had a wonderful stay at El Jardin Glorioso. It was even better than described. The gardens, birds and privacy were beautiful.
Close enough to walk to town and local restaurants.
Ed was a great host, very considerate of our needs and gave us great information about the area. It was so nice to sit on our patio an enjoy the quiet sounds of nature around us. We are sorry we didn't book a longer stay.
The only disappointment was the ocean and swimming access.

  • Had a wonderful stay at El Jardin Glorioso! Thank you so much to Edward and Julie for your wonderful hospitality and being so helpful.
The garden is amazing - a botanical garden, your own private ocean front zoo and bird watchers paradise! Every step you take there is another bird, animal, plant or flower to enjoy. A stay we will never forget!

  • One day (this was a Monday by the way) two pale gringos decided to go upon an adventure, to see what the world has to offer for their very first time. Luckily these two gringos chose Costa Rica, and even more fortuitous for them they decided to stay at the Glorious Garden, little did they know that their host and the property which he owns would be one of, if not the greatest highlight of the trip. Upon arrival Edward picked us up from the bus station, gave us the tour, cooked us a meal, and set the tone for what was to be a wonderful trip. The property is exquisite and lush, offering both sanctuary a sense of security and easy access to the ocean. The coral pools were amazing, the flora and fauna even more so. Edward was a treasure trove of information concerning local amenities, advising on everything and anything one could imagine. Our days were spent exploring the jungles, oceans, rivers and pools. Our evening were spent conversing with Ed (luckily a history buff) about all matter of things under the sun, enriching the experience with a fantastic sense of humanity and community. We discussed ancient aliens, the merits of Willard Libby versus Thomas Midgley Jr. as humanitarians, we threw the frisbee a whole lot, I hit the trees mostly however Ed and my cohort were a bit more accurate. We met the local ex-pats Randy and Hutch, scholars and gentlemen both. All in all this experience was a rich, heady, soul inspiring journey for two young men. I highly recommend this property for those looking to experience Costa Rica in a laid-back quiet atmosphere, those who have yet to experience a suicide shower, and those who don't mind riding rickety rusty bicycles miles a day. Pura Vida!

    Thanks again Ed!

  • Staying at "El Jardin Glorioso Casita" was our first experience with Airbnb - and it was more than "glorioso"! Julie & Ed are wonderful hosts and their place is paradise - especially when you come from Europe. The tropical garden is pure heaven and wonderfully kept neat and clean. The birds, frogs and other animals enjoyed it as much as us. The natural volcano pool is so unique and irresistible! We dived into it every morning and after lunch. The comfort of the cabin is far above expectations with an excellent bed and more appliances than needed. Most of all, Ed and Julie were our best source of tips and their suggestions were of great value. We did a lot in Cahuita, but left a few things to have a reason to come back! Thanks to both of you! Hope to see you soon again.

  • Fantastic place and Ed and Julie were superb hosts. Cahuita National Park is beautiful and a wonderful place to snorkel. The property and cottage are well kept and the small lagoon near the ocean is amazing. Very often we were the only ones on a huge stretch of beautiful beach just north of the cottage. If you are looking for something different and off the beaten path this is the place.

  • My sister and I just stayed at Ed and Julie's cabina for 6 days. It was by far the best cabin I have ever stayed in so far. It was well equipped with everything one might need. Ed and Julie are amazing hosts! They took the time to point out wildlife and show us around the garden in all its bromeliad glory! We felt very safe and the bikes they lent us were the best way to get around town. It's just a 10 min. bike ride to the national park. We were only able to swim in the coral pools on our check out morning but it was well worth it. We are already thinking about how to make it back to have another few laughs with these awesome hosts. They are PURA VIDA!

  • The cabin was perfect, the property was impressive, both were impeccably clean. The coral pool was my favourite and possibly the best swimming spot in the area. This place it heaven for bird watching - Toucan, Aracari, Parrots, hawks, and a number of different hummingbirds right outside your door.

Ed, you are an amazing host! Thank you for your hospitality and generosity.

Hello, My name is Edward, my wife Julie and I have been enjoying Cahuita since 2004. We also have a home in Taos, NM., where we live when we are not in Costa Rica. I was a general contractor by trade and Julie is in the health care profession. We bought our Cahuita property in 2004. It had two ramshackel houses on it. We rebuilt one house and tore the other one down and replaced it with what is now the Casita. It has taken several years of two and three month working vacations to create our special place here in Cahuita. It was truly an adventure and we loved every minute of it. Come share what we have created.
