  • We had an amazing time staying at Nicholas' place. The house was well kept, in great condition and had an interesting (eclectic) feel to it. The garden is lovely on warmer days, but when it's cold the jukebox offers a great collection of songs with which to spend a lazy evening. The location of the house is perfect, Williamsburg Brooklyn is one of the most easy going, hip places I've been to for a while. Lots of great bars, stores, galleries and amazing street art. Although it might be noisy at night (what else to expect in a city that never sleeps) this didn't bother me at all. The liveliness of the neighborhood was infectious.

Some places to go to in Williamsburg: The Cameo (comedy nights on wednesdays), Maracuja, This 'n That & many more!

  • Our experience was very positive. The house was a charming old house with a fun wurlitzer and a lot of toys for kids. Almost next door a 24 hour shop for groceries. Fast, by subway, connection to manhattan. We had a great time. Nicholas was very helpfull and reacted very quickly to our questions. Recommended!

  • We had a wonderful week at Nicholas' house. The location is perfect; close to restaurants, bars and Williamsburg shopping. Manhattan is 10 minutes away on the subway. We'll be back.

  • The house is in a great location close to the Subway on the L line. It's only one stop to Manhattan so we did lots of sightseing and saw two Broadway shows. You can hear the trains rumble under the house but it's not very loud and you get used to it. The street is noisy at night, especially at the weekends. There are lots of good local restaurants, a bowling alley, a movie theatre, a play park and a supermarket within a few blocks walk. The Barclays centre is a great venue for sports and entertainment in Brooklyn!

If your style is retro and you like antiques you'll enjoy staying here. If your style is contemporary and you prefer modern furniture/decor you may not like it. Please note that there is no microwave and no washer/dryer in this home. We're a big family and we stayed here for 11 nights so this was inconvenient for us. The bedrooms have plenty of room for 4 or 5 people to sleep but the living room needs another couch or an arm chair. The TV is very old with just a few channels that work. Luckily the kitchen has a dishwasher but the stove is from the 1940s!

  • Once again, we spent 4 nights at our favorite home away from home in Williamsburg. Brought musicians with us so had up to 5 adults sleeping comfortably. Because Nicholas uses a combination lock instead of a key people could arrive and leave as they needed.
Best location really in NYC (email hidden) gourmet supermarket next (door so does not matter how late you arrive), blocks and blocks of great restaurants and a very quick ride to union square or chelsea or you can walk over Williamsburg bridge to the lower east side.

The house is charming with vintage stove (needs matches to light), juke box in living room and a little backyard. Also only one block from subway (and only one stop out of Manhattan).

  • What a wonderful house this is! Full of character and charm, this spacious property right in the heart of Williamsburg is ideal for the many many bars, restaurants, clubs and shops that the area has to offer. Everything is literally a short walk away including the subway and great views of Manhattan from the water front. Honestly look no further than this amazing house! Nicholas is a fantastic and charming host and has supplied guests with everything they need including the incredible juke box with hand picked old 45 rpm singles!!!
Couldn't recommend this property highly enough, you'd be stupid not to stay here!

  • Location, location, location! This is a perfect place for a medium sized group to stay. Close to public transport and walking distance to all the great eateries in the neighborhood. Was warm and cozy for our stay. The use of juke box made the trip delightful. This is now our place to stay while in New York. Nicholas was so very easy to work with. Two thumbs up.

  • This house has a wonderful energy about it. It is convenient, clean and a sanctuary from the bustle of the Big Apple!

  • Fantastic place to stay, probably the best AirBNB rental in Brooklyn. The place is cool, bohemian, and easily accommodates six. Located within 1 block of hipster-clad Bedford Ave. and very close to Bedford Ave. subway stop for easy access to the rest of NYC. Nicholas is an excellent host, responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend!

About
Our family of five spent 10 great years in this house, We moved some distance away a couple years ago. I come in for film & radio production work occasionally and stay in the basement and/or back house. Our neighbors down the street take care of the house. The home has a lot of our life in it still, and our kids were born there. It's a keeper.
