Great neighbourhood and lovely house - homely and comfortable with everything we needed. Great backyard for our son to explore also! The house was full of fantastic toys and books for him. As well as a child-size piano and jukebox, he was in his element!
The subway was less than a 5minute walk and well connected. The river, bars, restaurants, cafes and shops were all very close-by and incredibly tempting! We could have happily stayed much much longer!
Nicholas was helpful and flexible both before we arrived and throughout our stay, offering prompt assistance when we had questions or concerns.
The home was clean and spacious, allowing our family of five adults to have personal space as well as shared living space. We appreciated having a kitchen, so we could have breakfasts in, and a living room where we could all "hang out."
Nearness to the L subway line made it easy to get to and from the airport, as well as to Manhattan daily. Proximity to grocery and markets, as well as coffee shops, was also a plus.
House with character right in Williamsburg-one minute walk from Bedford Ave and very close to the Subway. I loved the local area- great for restaurants. House was spacious and quiet. The garden was also peaceful and felt like a luxury in such an urban area.
We stayed in Nicholas house with our two teenagers. The place was great, right in the center of Williamsburg, steps to the subway, grocery and restaurants. Each of the kids got their own room, we found it to be quite at night and there is a nice back yard. Would definitely stay here again.
Really lovely home that I would not hesitate to stay in next time I'm in New York. My friends and I just loved it! It may not be for everyone though. It's 'old-fashioned—not remodeled in decades—very '50s-'60s-'70s—bare bones in terms of amenities and a bit dilapidated interiors, poor lighting, extremely creaky floor boards, but so spacious and equipped with all the basics. It was clean, the beds were comfortable and the linens were nice. It was secure and safe feeling.
This home is right in the heart of Williamsburg—perfect location for great food, shopping and subway access.
I never met Nicholas in person, but he was very responsive in all our correspondence.
I would recommend this home as a great place to stay—especially if you enjoy a vintage setting!

About the Host, Nicholas
Our family of five spent 10 great years in this house, We moved some distance away a couple years ago.
I come in for film & radio production work occasionally and stay in the basement and/or back house.
Our neighbors down the street take care of the house.
The home has a lot of our life in it still, and our kids were born there.
It's a keeper.
