Our two story house is quite different than anyplace you would find in New York City.
It is kept very well for our guests. I keep a studio in the basement for when I am in for work.
Once again, we spent 4 nights at our favorite home away from home in Williamsburg. Brought musicians with us so had up to 5 adults sleeping comfortably. Because Nicholas uses a combination lock instead of a key people could arrive and leave as they needed.
Best location really in NYC with a 24 hr gourmet supermarket next (door so does not matter how late you arrive), blocks and blocks of great restaurants and a very quick ride to union square or chelsea or you can walk over Williamsburg bridge to the lower east side.
The house is charming with vintage stove (needs matches to light), juke box in living room and a little backyard. Also only one block from subway (and only one stop out of Manhattan).
What a wonderful house this is! Full of character and charm, this spacious property right in the heart of Williamsburg is ideal for the many many bars, restaurants, clubs and shops that the area has to offer. Everything is literally a short walk away including the subway and great views of Manhattan from the water front. Honestly look no further than this amazing house! Nicholas is a fantastic and charming host and has supplied guests with everything they need including the incredible juke box with hand picked old 45 rpm singles!!!
Couldn't recommend this property highly enough, you'd be stupid not to stay here!
Location, location, location! This is a perfect place for a medium sized group to stay. Close to public transport and walking distance to all the great eateries in the neighborhood. Was warm and cozy for our stay. The use of juke box made the trip delightful. This is now our place to stay while in New York. Nicholas was so very easy to work with. Two thumbs up.
This house has a wonderful energy about it. It is convenient, clean and a sanctuary from the bustle of the Big Apple!
Fantastic place to stay, probably the best AirBNB rental in Brooklyn. The place is cool, bohemian, and easily accommodates six. Located within 1 block of hipster-clad Bedford Ave. and very close to Bedford Ave. subway stop for easy access to the rest of NYC. Nicholas is an excellent host, responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend!
Great neighborhood, fun house and very convenient transportation. Our Brooklyn friends who came by called it a typical Brooklyn house but compared to anything in manhattan in a similar price range, the place was a palace.. It's old but had everything we needed and shopping and restaurants abound in every direction. The weather was bitterly cold but the house stayed toasty warm. With a little scrubbing of long unused kitchenware we created a gourmet thanksgiving feast. Nicholas was extremely accommodating and easy enough to reach. So ignore the squeaky but very nice hardwood floors throughout the house, marvel at the music collection on the jukebox, spread out end enjoy the spaciousness of an entire house and go exploring! It's location one stop from Manhattan is a plus not a negative and you'll really experience life in a neighborhood that is buzzing with activity.
Three generations from 90 to 32 from San Francisco and Portland, Oregon spent 7 nights at Nicholas' home in Williamsburg and had a really wonderful time. The home is extremely well located near the Bedford subway stop one stop from Manhattan on the "L" and close to the east river ferry that can get you to Manhattan via a spectacular view from the river. There is a clothing resale shop across the street which came in handy. There are restaurants and cafes close by and a natural food store almost next door. [Konditori for coffee, Rabbithole for Breakfast are favorites]. The house is very child friendly and the Juke Box has a great selection of music from the Velvet Underground to Miles Davis! There are two bathrooms, one with a stall shower. We used the 1940s stove top but not the oven, so we don't know how that would go. The beds were comfortable. The floors creaked a lot so it was hard to walk down the hall at night without making a sound, but this place was a fantastic refuge from the city. Enjoyed a partial view of the Williamsburg bridge from the bathroom, the backyard (it has one!) and the general vibe of this place. Thanks to Nicholas for making it available to the Air BnB community. This is a great group gathering place or home for a family or group of friends visiting New York.
Fantastic place in the best Williamsburg area. Nicholas is the perfect host: easily reachable, kind, and his house is like a country cottage in the city. We were there with 2 teenagers and had a great time in Brooklyn. The subway station is down the block, and Manhattan one stop away. Highly recommended!
We enjoyed staying at Nicholas' place. It's a whole house! Space for everyone, toys and books to play with - even a jellybean machine! There is a lot to see and eat in the neighbourhood - and Manhattan is just one stop away. The house is old, but very friendly and welcoming. Kind of like home :-)
Nicholas is the perfect host, helpfull and always quick with replies. Will definitely recommend to others - especially families with kids.
Great Location! House is very spacious, clean and with a wonderful backyard! The jukebox is awesome too! A great house for a long term stay.
