The Studio is small but with a king size loft bed and a modern bathroom with shower. Airconditioning and international TV channels.
The neighbourhood is just great! Many bars and restaurants. Out of the confusion in the heart of the Ancient Rome.

The Space

300m from Colosseum a newly renovated one room flat with a king-size loft bed for 2. Free Wi Fi 24h, satelliteTV. Bathroom with shower, cooking facility, fridge, air conditioning/heating. The place is a very small one-room and a bathroom accomodation completely independent, not a rented room, with all the comforts you will need. This a a very intimate place and works well with couples and good friends. It is perfect for guests who love to stick together and don't need a host around.
I don't live in the same building and cannot be on the place during your stay but I'm always reachable by phone or by e-mail and will come when needed; meet you at your arrival and when leaving.
End of19th century building in good conditions in a beautiful and quiet street in a calm neighbourhood with typical restaurants, bars and pubs. The Ancient Rome e.g. Caesar Nero's Palace, Circus Maximus, Via Appia Antica, Caracallan baths, Forum Romanum and, of course, the Colosseum at your doorstep! 10 minutes walking distance from the shopping area, Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon, Piazza di Spagna and Piazza Navona.
In the neighbourhood lot of historical sites to visit starting from the paleochristian period.
Supermarket at the beginning of the street. Good parking. Some park areas near by. No need for public transportation. Nevertheless, excellent public transportation nearby: streetcar, busses and metrostation "Colosseum" in the area.
Offers the best possible opportunity to visit and live the Heart of Rome!

The Neighborhood

If you don't feel like going far from the apartment, you can enjoy the many bars, restaurants, pizzerias and winebars of the neighbourhood. It is in the heart of the Ancient Rome and still more real Roman than touristic. Also safe and calm because there is hardly any traffic but nevertheless it is one of the rare areas of the historical centre where you can arrive by car.

Getting around

The metro B to "Colosseo" is the easiest way to move. Also different busses pass. Nearest stop in Via Claudia.

  • Jaana was so nice to let us check in early so we could drop our bags and start exploring on our first day. The location of the apartment was very convenient- located a couple streets over from the Colosseum, and the Colosseo metro stop. However, there were few tourists down this street which was very nice. The area also had lots of nice little restaurants and bars as well. The apartment was clean with an A/C unit, a modern bathroom, and good wifi. It was small but good for a young couple as getting into bed requires climbing up a ladder to the lofted bed. Overall, this was a great experience for us as we spent most of our time out exploring in Rome and looked forward to a comfy night of sleep. Jaana was also very helpful in responding to our messages and queries very quickly which made our stay all that more enjoyable.

  • Our host was very friendly and accommodating. The place, although a little small, was well laid out and had nice fixtures and finishes. It was also very conveniently located. Very happy with our time spent!

  • I am really happy I found Jaana's apartment on airbnb. This apartment is really at a good location. It's five minutes walk to Colosseo and also close the the Colosseo metro station. It's very convenient to visit many places just by foot or taking metro. This apartment is small but really nice and perfect for one person or a couple!! In the apartment, there are many things provided, such as plates, cups, Italian expresso coffee maker, coffee powder, salt, pepper, sugar, napkin, refrigerator, and also a small kitchen for cooking! I think it's better than a hotel!
I will recommend it to friends!!

  • Jaana's studio has a perfect location, really close to the Colosseum and the subway. It is well decorated, functional, and very clean. As others have stated, it is quite small, but if you need a pretty and practical place to stay it is a great place. As for Jaana, she was very welcoming and provided us with all the information we needed.

    Response from Jaana:

Thank you Pierre so much for your observations. I love the suggestions. They help me to maintain the place functional. I have to admit that I have a major problem with the toilet paper holder. At the beginning it was attached on the wall, then one guest accidently leaned on it and since then there has been no way to reattach it.

  • The location of this appt is excellent if you want to be in the thick of 'tourist' Rome (which we did!). It is very small but the bed was comfortable and the room fine for what we needed.

    Dear Joelle,
thank you for your suggestions. I have now fixed with screws the the slats under the sofa. I hadn't even noticed that they were loosen.
    Thank you!

  • Jaana's apartment is situated pretty close to the Colosseum. It is within walking distance from the Colosseo metro station. Just bear in mind that if you have lots of luggage, you will have to navigate through the cobblestone walkway to her apt but shouldn't be a big problem. The apt is small but it should have everything you need. She even left some biscuits for us as snacks, very nice gesture. The only slight problem is that the boiler is abit small and therefore you might not have enough hot water for two people to take showers one after another. The second person have to wait about 10 mins. Otherwise everything is fantastic. Interior is newly furnished.

Jaana also waited on the street for a long time for us because we were lost and ran late for our initial agreed meeting time. She was very patient!

About
I live in Rome and just adore it. I would like everyone to see the marvels of Rome and Italy therefore I also organize travel programs in Italy besides of working as a conference interpreter. In my free time I like running 3-4 times a week and to read a bit of everything but prefer non-fiction or other books that have a base of reality. Sci-fi is not for me. In addition, history is among my interests (the location of the house is not random). I try to practice foreign languages with some consistency.
