About this listing
Come enjoy the weekend in a charming mountain town nestled between the mountains. July is the month that we celebrate Mountaineer Days! On the 11th and 12th, there will be hay rides, music and dancing, panning for gold and so much more. Join us!
Located in a small mountain village, more than a mile above sea level, we are only a few miles from MT. HIGH SKI RESORT and PACIFIC CREST TRAIL . Even closer is the BIG PINES ZIPLINE. Endless trails beckon to hikers. Our quiet town offers a coffee house with live music, superb restaurants, wine tasting, and a variety of shops. Lots to do in Wrightwood, and it's always cooler up here in the pine covered mountains.
The favorite time to visit Wrightwood is when our snow offers skiing, sledding, tubing, and snowballs. Summer time fun includes ZIPLINES, as well as our own Mountaineer Days in July and the Car Show in Aug. And don't forget those margaritas - first one for 5 cents every Tues.!!!
We are just 90 minutes from Los Angeles, but when you take that first breath of clean crisp air, it will seem much further than that! Wrightwood is in the Angeles National Forest and it's a bit like stepping back in time....before fast food restaurants.
Your room has a queen-sized 4 poster bed, a walk-in closet, and a private bath. ( We have now added a 2nd room, also with a private bath. 'The Green Room' is listed separately. Just click on my name and both rooms will appear!) Breakfast is included, as is help finding your way around. We would love to have you visit, and can also offer guided tours to places in S. Cal. for an added fee. You may order a specific breakfast if you wish, or a light meal, or do it yourself. Just let me know!
No pets, sorry. No smoking, no candles. The kitchen may only be used for preparing light meals - i.e. microwave heat ups, sandwiches, quick pasta. This is NOT a cabin with an empty kitchen. There are empty shelves and a small fridge in the bar. That is the only space I have to offer for storing foods.
Age restriction - no children younger than 6.
It should go without being stated, as it's a standard policy in all hotels, motels, and B&Bs, that the rooms are for registered guests only. Inviting people to share your room later, guests who DO NOT have reservations, is in violation of the rules and you may be asked to leave, along with your extra guests. To entertain guests in the daytime, (birthday party, B-B-Q, or just to visit) you must first make arrangements with me.
Diane was an excellent host . The place is clean and beautiful and the breakfast was awesome . Had a very good time !!
THe host made me feel so taken care of. She definatly pulled out the stops to make this the perfect stay. If you are looking for a place look no furhter than the Wrightwood BNB. The neighboring town is cute. I spent most of my time at Table Mountain and the Village Grind Coffee Shop to do some soul searching and reflection!
It was great to stay at Diane's place! Everything was really good: communication and directions to get there, a warm welcome, a nice and clean room, a comfortable bed, and a great breakfast! Ask Diane to show you their piano collection, you will be surprised!
Would love to come back there!
Diane and Jerry were excellent hosts, and it felt more like staying with old friends than someone we had just met. Diane prepared a wonderful breakfast for us each morning. We had a fantastic experience being shown around the area, and Diane was exceedingly knowledgeable about the fascinating geological features of the area. As an added bonus, we share their passion for automatic musical instruments, so we were able to enjoy beautiful music from their restored player piano. In short, it was a very memorable experience, and we look forward to returning and staying with them again in the future.
I spent a few days at Diane's beautiful house while training for a nearby race. To my pleasant surprise, the house is as much an attraction as the town itself, with everything from the heated mattress pad to the mechanical instrument collection providing comfort and/or joy. The breakfast is a huge bonus because Diane is a great and versatile cook who adapted the menu to my preferences. Cannot recommend the room enough as a place of rest in between mountain adventures.
Diane's Lavender Room is head and shoulders above the competition in regards to cleanliness, size and cosiness. Diane and her husband made us feel welcome and at home and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was fantastic and the two even gave us a ride to the PCT trailhead out of town.
One more time in Wrightwood with Diane and Jerry. Wonderful hosts and kind friends.
