About This Listing
APARTMENT FERDINAND SARAJEVO
The apartment is located in city center, and is 3-5 minutes of easy walk away from the old part of town (Bascarsija) and other cultural and historic landmarks of Sarajevo such as the Catholic Cathedral, Orthodox church, numerous mosques and a Jewish Synagogue. All famous festivals are held in the streets less than 10 minutes walk from here. A smart and economical way to taste the delights of Sarajevo in a warm & delightful place in the heart of the capital!
A cozy, fully equipped 55m2 apartment is on the second floor of a small residential building, and is consisted of a wide reception hallway, two fully equipped rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. The apartment has been recently renovated and can fulfil all the needs one may have during a short or longer stay.
After you open the thick wooden door to the apartment you are greeted by a spacious entry hallway with a big shoe closet. All other chambers are directly connected to that hallway. On the left there is the bathroom. In it you can find a small cabinet equipped with bathroom necessities such as towels, hair dryer, soap, shower gel, toilet paper etc. The tap water pressure is excellent, and of course, there is hot water.
The next chamber you can access from the entry hallway is a fully equipped kitchen, with a table, fridge, electrical oven, microwave, toaster, water kettle and some basic cooking materials like olive oil, spices, coffee, tea etc. The kitchen has access to a small laundry chamber and a balcony.
Straight from the hallway there are two living/sleeping rooms. The left one has a double bed, closet, club table and cable tv. The other room, more spacious one, has pull out sofa bed and all that plus a comfortable armchair, stereo system and a dvd player.
The whole apartment is heated by electric convectors.
Inside you'll find everything you need for a comfortable stay: cable TV, DVD, stereo system, wireless high-speed internet, two sofa beds, linen and towels, shampoo, slippers, washing/laundry machine, iron & ironing board, hairdryer, a fully equipped kitchen with dining table and some cooking basics (olive oil, spices, coffee, tea, etc.), umbrellas, city maps etc.
Both bed / sofas are retractable, and two people can comfortably sleep on each. If required, I can arrange another bed.
Some of the equipment is brand new, some is used, but everything is in order and you shall have no problems with them.
A mobile phone with a local number will also be provided for you.
Interaction with Guests
I'd be happy to meet you on arrival to Sarajevo, pick you up from the airport/station and take you to the apartment or show you around town.
I am happy to help you and assist you with any needs you may have while you are in Sarajevo. Feel free to ask questions!
Also, you will be provided with a map and the monthly guide.
The location is what makes this apartment truly special. Although it is located in city center, the neighbourhood is very calm and safe. Close by you will find everything you need for everyday life, fruit and vegetable market, shops, cafes, eateries and public transportation. Free parking is available next to the building. There is also a 24h guarded parking very close by, but it has to be paid.
In the immediate vicinity of the apartment there are landmarks such as Konak (Old ottoman Inn), Franciscan monastery and St Andrew Church, as well as Emperor’s Mosque. The whole neighbourhood was once a part of a castle which served as an administrative centre for the whole Realm.
During the Austro-Hungarian rule, above mentioned Konak was the residence of their supervisors for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Among others, it housed Franz Josef, the Austro-Hungarian emperor. Also, Konak is where crown prince Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sofia died after the Sarajevo Assassination, which is also the triggering event for World War One.
The actual assassination took place near to Latin Bridge, which carried the name of the assassin, Gavrilo Princip from 1918 till 1992. That is the very bridge that you will have to cross to enter the heart of old town when you walk your way from the apartment.
A nearby park houses At Mejdan music pavilion built in 1913. In 17th century the place was a hippodrome, thus its name (which means hippodrome in Turkish).
I must say that this part of town is what Sarajevo really is, so If you miss this part of town you missed Sarajevo.
All public transportation is within 100 meters from the accommodation which includes: tram, trolley bus and city buses. Various taxi services in the area with available services on demand. Just let me know if you are in need of a taxi and i will provide it for you.
This also applies to car rentals as cars can be provided.
However, if you wish to explore the centre and old part of Sarajevo, you will need no transportation. Everything is very near.

Dejan is an excellent host - we stayed 5 days in his appartment and felt like at home. His commodious appartment is located a step from Baščaršija in a quiet neighbourhood of Bistrik. It's also a very convenient place, if you travel to Sarajevo with a car, because you won't have parking problems :) We will miss this cosy place for sure! Miha
Nice, friendly guy, makes you feel comfortable. Was ready to give us anything we asked for. Super close to the old city which is great, although I felt slightly nervous that it was on a dark side street. However I'm pretty sure it's very safe. While there is street parking, it should be noted that it's not with the apartment so you may have to search-but it wasn't difficult. Very clean and warm which is a huge plus for me! I would recommend again for sure.
Dejan was extremely friendly with us and gave us suggestions on what to do and where to eat. The apartment was exactly as pictured and very comfortable. It was literally right next to the old town centre and we loved being able to come and go with ease. This was the perfect Airbnb flat and an integral part of how Sarajevo was such a wonderful visit for us. It was perfectly clean and warm. Excellent value.
Mieszkanie Dejana było doskonałym wyborem. Położone 5 minut spacerem od ścisłego centrum miasta, czyste, bardzo dobrze wyposażone i wygodne. Dejan jest bardzo sympatyczny i pomocny.
Dejan is very kind and helpful. Apartment was clean, comfortable and perfectly located. It was excellent choice, I highly recommend.
Dejan to bardzo sympatyczny człowiek! Mieszkanie, w którym moja dziewczyna i ja spędziliśmy 3 dni, jest znakomite - przestronne, jasne, niesamowicie czyste (!) i kompletnie wyposażone: pralka, naczynia, suszarka, internet etc.
