Nice hosts, her partner picked us up from the bus stop.
Thank you, that we could book your room last-minute!
Leeanne has a beautiful house and a lovely family. We felt very welcome here and enjoyed getting to know them all, albeit briefly. The location is good, just off the highway and near lots of great things to do. Breakfast was laid out for us in the morning, despite us having a very early start. Overall this is a great place to stay and very highly recommended.
We'd like to thank Lee-Anne and her lovely family for two great nights in Taupo. Cosy room and great location! It was easy to feel like home and we could have stayed much longer. We warmly recommend others to stay with them while in Taupo!
Lee-Anne and company were fantastic hosts and made the stay in Taupo wonderful. In a quiet part of town that's close to everything, their home was a great place to stay. I was welcomed for homemade pizza with the whole family, including little Ella and Toby who were endlessly entertaining.
Lee-Anne also helped me figure out what to do in Taupo and where to go for things like kayak rentals, good drinks, and good hikes - something you can't reliably get from a travel guidebook. If you want a great place to stay and local advice, look no further.
Lee-Anne's and her family are so cute, and we enjoyed our stay with them. It's conveniently located (at least we found it to be, having a car), and Lee-Anne truly went out of her way to help us with everything we needed. The bed was comfy, the shared bathroom was clean, she had breakfast waiting for us despite our early morning...and helped us with our arrangements for Tongariro Alpine Crossing...and she even gave us some amazingly delicious baked goods for the trek! (We LOVED those bars, Lee-Anne!!!! Is that recipe a secret??? Or are you able to share? :) ) Highly, highly recommended!
Haha your welcome :) glad you enjoyed them! Nope its no secret. The recipe is really easy. Its called chocolate crunch slice. The recipe is as follows-
1 cup Flour
1tsp baking powder
1 cup cornflakes
1 cup dessicated coconut
1 tblspn golden syrup
1 tblspn cocoa
Melt golden syrup and butter in a saucepan and add to dry ingredients. Mix together and press into a lined tin.
Bake at 180degrees celcius for around 15minutes or until firm.
Ice with chocolate icing.. icing sugar cocoa and boiling water. Sprinkle with coconut. Cut into squares while still warm.
Good luck :) x
We had a lovely time staying with Lee-Anne. Her house is a short drive from the lake and she gave us some great recommendations on things to do around Taupo.
We enjoyed our stay at Lee Anne,s. The bed was comfortable but the room is very small. The bathroom was adequate and clean. We were very tired upon arrival and did not really see them til the morning. Having a small child in the house might not be suitable for everyone but we didn't,t mind it. Our first Airbnb
