This basement guest suite has a private entrance with a key code, as well as an exclusive patio space looking out onto the back yard. Inside you'll find a kitchenette with sink, minifridge and 2 burner stove. Also an en suite bathroom with a tub. Plenty of clothing storage, and a tv with Google Chromecast for your use (you can stream content from your phone or tablet to the tv in the suite.) 2.5 blocks to the red rocks adjacent to Garden of the Gods, 4 blocks to full grocery store and eateries.

The space
This is a gorgeous cottage built in the early 1900’s but with consistent upgrades to have full amenities. We’ve taken such pride in making the basement suite into a haven for guests. We're certain you'll enjoy your stay!

Guest access
In the suite you’ll find a kitchenette with mini fridge, two burner stove top, microwave and keurig; a full bath with linens and basic toiletries provided; a washer dryer; a king bed; a chromecast-enabled tv; and a big comfy chair.

Other things to note
It is important to note that we do not permit smoking or marijuana on property. Also, know that this is a quiet neighborhood, and guests should take care to be respectful of that.

Also, this is a two-unit house. Guests may be staying upstairs, and you may hear footsteps and voices. Let me know if they are being disrespectful with noise, and I’ll do my best to remedy. Please also be respectful of them in the main house!

Last, the basement suite can get chilly in the winter, and the thermostat is upstairs. It’s in the works for me to install a nest thermostat so I can increase the temp a few degrees remotely if asked; but I have also included two space heaters for your convenience. Please always turn them off before you leave the suite!

Neighborhood highlights

You won’t believe how close you are to Garden of the Gods! Walk just 2.5 blocks and you’re standing on red rock formations with 360 views including Pikes Peak!

Our little corner of the neighborhood is very quiet. We have deer who visit daily, and it feels like a beautiful oasis. Come to enjoy the views, the peace and quiet, but also the ability to get to the city quickly and easily.

Plenty of amenities are within walking distance. There is a grocery store just down the hill, lots of restaurants and shopping in Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs; and you are around 10 minutes from downtown Colorado Springs by car. Approximately 30 by bike!

I'm a single mom; and while motherhood is my most significant work, I’m also a full time doctoral student. We started hosting guests at this property years ago when it was our income property and staycation house, but it was so special to us we decided to make the move and live here full time! So we are onsite hosts, going about daily life upstairs while we rent out the basement suite. It’s our dream retreat, and we hope you’ll feel the same!
