About This Listing
If you are going to visit Boston and or Cambridge, this is the place to stay. Located in the heart of Central Square, Cambridge, we offer easy access to everything Boston and Cambridge have to offer. We are steps from a variety of restaurants, nightlife, and Public Transportation, and close to Harvard, MIT and downtown Boston. This is a great location for visiting Harvard, MIT and or BU.
-Public Transportation: The Central Square subway 'T' Stop on the Red Line, the #1 Bus which runs up and down Massachusetts Avenue, and a cab stand are all steps away. An we mean literally steps away, you can see them from the front door.
-Cambridge sites: We are equidistant between Harvard and MIT: Both are 5 mins away by public transport, or a lovely 15-20 min walk.
-Downtown Boston is a short 5 minute ride on either the subway or the bus.
-We provide travel tips and places to check out around Cambridge/Boston upon request.
Taken great care of by a young professional couple in their late-20s/early 30s, this private room features:
- Full-Size bed with nice cotton bedding
- Room features a chaise lounge, set of drawers and closet space
- Private bathroom (you won't have to share while you are here!) with towels and toiletries (Shampoo, Conditioner and Soap) so no need to check your bags to get liquids.
- Other amenities: hair dryer, iron and ironing board.
The decor is contemporary with black wood, biege carpeting and colorful art. The room comes with other modern amenities provided in our 2-bedroom apartment: private bedroom, wireless Internet, TV (basic cable), kitchen, private bathrooms and a (coin or credit card) laundry room downstairs. We are on the top floor of our elevator-serviced building, and have a large deck with a beautiful view of Cambridge. There is also a small gym available in the building.
Please check the Calendar tab for the room's availability, and if it looks available, send us a message with any questions you have.
Looking forward to meeting you!
Is there parking nearby?
We have a Cambridge visitor pass for our guests: parking is first-come-first served, but you can usually find something within walking distance. On weekends and evenings there is free parking at metered locations within walking distance.
There is a pay public parking garage next door, the Green Street Parking Garage: (website hidden)
What kind of interaction can I expect?
We've had guests we've gotten to know, who have hung out with us and joined us for dinner with friends. We've also had guests who wish to come and go with little interaction. We are flexible. Feel free to give us a sense of your schedule when you arrive.
What kind of noise level can I expect?
We live on a fairly busy city street, but the apartment is on the tenth floor so there can be some street noise but no one has ever complained.
What control do I have over heat/AC?
There are two controls in the apartment: one controls your space and the common areas of the apartment, and one controls our space. You are welcome to raise/lower the heat/AC to meet your needs (warning: the heat is pretty sensitive, and it can get pretty hot after a small adjustment!).
#1: Please communicate, communicate, communicate.
Don't be afraid to ask questions!
We are flexible and the apartment can be as well. Most likely, we'll be happy to accommodate your needs and you'll be happy in return!
#2. Please no smokers
#3. Please be respectful of our space, our belongings, and our neighbors.
We did not meet our hosts Face to Face during our stay.
The accomodations did not meet our expectations. First impression upon entering apartment is very dirty stained carpeting. Our room was ready & neat, but extremely noisy. Although on 10th floor, it faces a bus route & street, voices, all sounds echo up. Room very warm & stuffy- had no instructions how to turn on A/C. Our 3rd guest had to use twin blow up mattress on floor which we were charged $125 extra- an exorbitant charge. Even 4 star hotels only charge $25 for a cot with mattress. Door squeeks upon opening- bad in middle of night. No coffee, water bottles, snacks, chocolates - not experienced "hosts: a person who receives or entertains other people as guests." Bathroom was (website hidden) -no remote, no way to turn it on. Overall disappointing. Came to Boston for a college graduation & have adored other Air bnb's- this one needs improvement.
I really enjoyed staying in Rory and Braidie's apartment. The room is excellent and offers a great view over Cambridge. The place is located around the corner from the subway, so going to Boston downtown takes only a 10 mins ride. Harvard, MIT and a number of really good restaurants and pubs are within walking distance. It is also worth mentioning that a car rental is only a block away. So no need to book one from the airport. Again thanks to Braidie for the advice. Also thanks to Rory for having me join his soccer team. I can't recommend Rory and Braidie highly enough. They were always helpful and perfect hosts. Should I have the chance to come back to Boston, I will certainly book this place again.
My co-worker and I really enjoyed staying with Rory & Braidie. Their home was extremely clean and they made us feel welcome right away. We received a ton of great recommendations for restaurants/things to do in Boston. Check-in/check-out was easy and their place was in a great location.
It was a pleasure to stay in Rory and Braidie's place which was exactly as described and pictured. The flat was absolutely spotless and was a really comfortable place to stay. I must also mention the mattress which was so comfortable! Also the view is amazing. Shame the weather was too cold to use the rooftop terrace!
The flat is in a great location, a stone's throw from Central subway stop. It takes no time at all to be in the downtown area and is the perfect base for exploring Boston. The area around the flat feels extremely safe with numerous restaurants to choose from. It is also really near to both MIT and Harvard.
Rory and Braidie were excellent hosts. They were always really communicative and replied instantly to any messages. They always made sure we had everything we needed and were just generally really friendly!
All in all, a fantastic airbnb experience and if I am ever back in Boston again, which I hope to be because it is a lovely city, I will be sure to book this place!
Thank you for sharing your place. It was nice to meet you and stay at your home. Rory and Braidie was friendly and helpfull hosts.
