LOCATION:
If you are going to visit Boston and or Cambridge, this is the place to stay. Located in the heart of Central Square, Cambridge, we offer easy access to everything Boston and Cambridge have to offer. We are steps from a variety of restaurants, nightlife, and Public Transportation, and close to Harvard, MIT and downtown Boston. This is a great location for visiting Harvard, MIT and or BU.

-Public Transportation: The Central Square subway 'T' Stop on the Red Line, the #1 Bus which runs up and down Massachusetts Avenue, and a cab stand are all steps away. An we mean literally steps away, you can see them from the front door.

-Cambridge sites: We are equidistant between Harvard and MIT: Both are 5 mins away by public transport, or a lovely 15-20 min walk.

-Downtown Boston is a short 5 minute ride on either the subway or the bus.

-We provide travel tips and places to check out around Cambridge/Boston upon request.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Taken great care of by a young professional couple in their late-20s/early 30s, this private room features:

- Full-Size bed with nice cotton bedding

- Room features a chaise lounge, set of drawers and closet space

- Private bathroom (you won't have to share while you are here!) with towels and toiletries (Shampoo, Conditioner and Soap) so no need to check your bags to get liquids.

- Other amenities: hair dryer, iron and ironing board.

The decor is contemporary with black wood, biege carpeting and colorful art. The room comes with other modern amenities provided in our 2-bedroom apartment: private bedroom, wireless Internet, TV (basic cable), kitchen, private bathrooms and a (coin or credit card) laundry room downstairs. We are on the top floor of our elevator-serviced building, and have a large deck with a beautiful view of Cambridge. There is also a small gym available in the building.

Please check the Calendar tab for the room's availability, and if it looks available, send us a message with any questions you have.

Looking forward to meeting you!

FAQs:

Is there parking nearby?
We have a Cambridge visitor pass for our guests: parking is first-come-first served, but you can usually find something within walking distance. On weekends and evenings there is free parking at metered locations within walking distance.

There is a pay public parking garage next door, the Green Street Parking Garage: (website hidden)

What kind of interaction can I expect?
We've had guests we've gotten to know, who have hung out with us and joined us for dinner with friends. We've also had guests who wish to come and go with little interaction. We are flexible. Feel free to give us a sense of your schedule when you arrive.

What kind of noise level can I expect?
We live on a fairly busy city street, but the apartment is on the tenth floor so there can be some street noise but no one has ever complained.

What control do I have over heat/AC?
There are two controls in the apartment: one controls your space and the common areas of the apartment, and one controls our space. You are welcome to raise/lower the heat/AC to meet your needs (warning: the heat is pretty sensitive, and it can get pretty hot after a small adjustment!).

  • We had a wonderful experience at Rory and Braidie's apartment. The room and bathroom was clean and comfortable and it had everything that we needed! The location was perfect - a nice neighbourhood close to Harvard and MIT. The subway was just steps away and it was easy to get to downtown Boston. We only wish we got to know Braidie and Rory as they went out of town for the weekend. However, they were excellent at keeping in touch to arrange arrival times, giving us some helpful travel tips and for answering any questions. We would definitely stay here again and I will recommend this place to family and friends!

  • Our stay at Rory and Braidie's home was very pleasant. It was the first stop of our trip to America and it instantly felt like home. The location of the apartment is perfect - it is a short walk from the Harvard campus and the T Metro station is only around the corner so the centre of Boston is easy to travel to and from.
The apartment is comfortable and clean and boasts a penthouse rooftop terrace where an amazing sunset can be enjoyed on an evening looking over the Cambridge/Harvard area.
Rory and Braidie are a lovely couple who were very knowledgeable about Boston and we asked them regularly for advice about the local area. We felt very welcome and would not hesitate to return.

  • We had a short, one-night stay, but it was pleasant and we felt welcome. We were grateful that Rory and Braidie were very flexible with our arrival and departure times. It was very convenient to the T (transit).

    Response from Rory And Braidie:

Hi Gary, thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately we did just have the carpets cleaned (about 3 weeks prior to your stay) and that was the best they could come up. Given that this is a relatively old apartment, the carpets are a terrible colour (I don't know who chooses beige for a rental property) and it has been a rental unit for many years I think unfortunately a lot of those stains won't come up.

  • Rory and Braidie are fantastic hosts! Not only we were graciously welcomed into their home, but the guest room was perfect. (Also one of the best beds I have ever slept on!) i hope Martin and I will be able to return in the near future as one night was far too short for us :) I highly recommend staying with them!
