Interaction with Guests
I love interacting with guests but also respect that most guests booking a private space are looking for a private experience. Any time you'd like to stop by and chat, please don't be shy to do so! I love sharing my favorite places in town.
There are three major bus lines just a few blocks away. The 6 bus is 3 blocks away (the Mason St. stop) and runs up and down MLK and over the Hawthorne bridge to PSU (and the PSU Saturday farmer's market!).
We kindly ask that noise is kept to a minimum after 11pm and before 8am. The same is asked of all living and staying upstairs.
-Bike- The bike can be borrowed during your stay with $200 deposit is required. The bike isn't recommended for anyone under 5'4". A contract requiring use of helmet and bike lock details the condition requirements for full deposit return. Its an older 12 speed bike so don't worry about scratching it, I just want to make sure theft prevention measures are taken and that major accidents are taken care of so I can offer the bike to the next guest. (Unfortunately, in this bike town, an unlocked bike is as likely to be stolen as an unlocked car with keys in the ignition.)
-Pets- I take a $300 deposit for the first pet and an additional $100 for each additional pet. If the apartment is hair and odor free and isn't damaged, you get every penny back! I've never had to withhold any deposits in the 3 years of doing this as the animal parents have all been great about thoroughly vacuuming. The deposit can be paid in cash or through PayPal. I wish Airbnb had the option to take the deposit for some guests and not others (pet guest vs non pet guests) but until they do, this has been working well.
We had a great time in Portland thanks to the fantastic location and cute accommodation. The place is not 100% private as there is a shared laundry room with access to the suite but that wasn't an issue for us.
We were in walking distance to a great strip of restaurants and bars (LOVED the grilled cheese stand!!!) also a $10 Uber ride to the Saturday markets and breweries downtown.
Great host who made check in and check out easy!
Naomi was super sweet and it was great to chat with her a bit. The room was cozy and cute - she has great decorating style! Bed was very comfy and everything was clean. Perfect location! Naomi was also very quick to respond to questions.
This apartment was a great fit for us while staying in Portland. Naomi was so kind and accommodating. Highly recommend!
Such a perfect place to stay in Portland, thanks for having us we had a great time!
We didn't get to meet Naomi as we arrived late and didn't stick around while there but she was very fast in communications and the place was awesome. Even the little things like a power bar as everyone needs to plug in. Loved the back yard! Neighbourhood is awesome. Would stay again.
We had a great time staying with Naomi. The location couldn't have been more perfect. It is within walking distance of the Alberta district which has plenty of bars, restaurants, and shopping. We also made our way downtown via the buses fairly easily. The place itself is very nice and private and worked well for our needs.
This little basement apartment was perfect for our needs when traveling through Portland. The location was amazing - it's walking distance to delicious food on Alberta St., and to New Seasons Market.
We did not meet Naomi during our stay, but everything was as we expected - the kitchen was well stocked, and the washer and dryer were available to us. The comforter was dreamy, and we were visited by a sweet kitty at our window one morning! The apartment was nice and cool even after a very hot day, but it was also very dim. There's not much light from the windows, so I was a little wary making bathroom trips in the middle of the night. I'd suggest bringing a flashlight or nightlight just to be safe! We did hear footsteps up above - although not loud or disturbing - but I assume we might have been a little loud one night after visiting a local pub. The ceiling is thin! Sorry, Naomi!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and our experience in the neighborhood.
