We stayed at Naomi's place on a Thurs to Sat and really enjoyed our stay! She was very accommodating to our requested early arrival. She recommended places to eat in the area and things to do in Portland. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed.
It is in a fun part of the Alberta arts district and within walking distance to many great places. I would highly recommend her apartment for your stay in Portland!
This was our first home in Portland! Our stay was for a month as we got acquainted with Portland and gave ourselves some time to find a permanent home. Naomi was really welcoming and friendly, and always happy to answer any questions we had.
It was myself, my fiance, and our ~60lb dog - and things did start to feel a little tight after a few weeks. That said, the neighborhood was really great to walk around in, and it was a short walk to the Alberta Arts district and Mississippi street - tons of restaurants (try Tin Shed for breakfast!), bars, and shops.
Super cute, cozy and killer location - we loved our "first home" in Portland, and highly recommend renting from Naomi!
My friend and I stayed in Naomi's basement apartment. It was great to have our own space and Naomi was a wonderful host! We had fresh eggs from the chickens (before it got colder) and she even invited us to a holiday White Elephant Gift exchange. She was very accommodating and friendly, and made us feel completely welcome in her home. I highly encourage a stay here if you want a friendly and homey Portland experience in a great location!
A perfect place for me to experience a "real" Portland residential neighborhood and to catch some Zzz's after long days at a conference. Naomi's style is fantastic and most of all comfortable. Great bed & bath linens and I love the Persian rugs and accents! The landscaping and the park across the street just make the experience all the more enjoyable. Naomi was an exceptional host and offered lots of suggestions on what to do/where to go. Bus into downtown was easy peasy and a reliable ride. What a beautiful city and perfect place for this solo traveler to stay while on a short trip from the East Coast.
Naomi was very accommodating and friendly but the apt. was dirty and didn't smell good. The rugs were covered with dog fur and the futon cover was dirty so I didn't want to sit on it. I had to wash most of the utensils before using them. I wanted a place with a kitchen so I could cook while visiting Portland. The can opener barely worked and there were no paper towels. In my experience most places have a better supply of condiments. The windows were dirty with a couple of small half-dead plants on the sills. The sheets, tub and toilet seemed clean. It was somewhat noisy as I could hear people walking and talking above me. And there are only curtains closing off the open area that contained the washer and dryer. Odd set-up and didn't feel as private as I would like. But the area was perfect for me as I was there for a wedding and friends were close by. It was close to Whole Foods and New Seasons.
Naomi's apartment was the perfect place for my girlfriend and I to stay on our Portland adventure. The apartment was comfortable and we felt welcomed by Naomi. The neighborhood is amazing and provided enough activities to keep us busy at night. I would highly recommend staying here.
I don't think anything had been touched since the photos were taken. It definitely had the look of neglect. An overflowing ash tray was on the front porch to greet us, also cigarette butts strewn along the path to our door. The place was not very clean (moldy shower curtain) and the trash had not been emptied. We had our dog with us and were told that there was a fenced in yard...such was not the case.
"Sweet apt"? We referred to it as "the dump".
Naomi is a devoted and caring hostess. We stayed for a month and it was fairly comfortable considering the small size of our space. We did hear upstairs noise, so for the extremely noise-sensitive person I would recommend earplugs which she does provide.
She was very kind to our doggie too.
Her yard and garden are lovely and we benefited greatly from her fruits and veggies.
We were able to store our bicycles securely too, another benefit.
Thanks and all the best to you in the future, Naomi.
Naomi's place was in a great location and was quite comfortable. Naomi was very helpful and provided us with advice and bike maps to get around the city. We would recommend this place to anyone.
cute place! not quite big enough for 4 but a pleasant stay otherwise. has everything you could need!
