Cliffside apartment with an ocean view in a quiet, safe, rural area on Isabela's Northwest coast. We're surrounded by rambling tropical gardens - great for birdwatching and star watching! There's a tree-house view of Jobos Beach, a sandy beach that's great for both experienced or beginner surfers (on the sandbar).
Fully equipped kitchenette including refrigerator, microwave oven, gas stove, coffeemaker, blender, and outdoor grill.
Cable TV, DVD/CD, wireless internet, ceiling fan, washing machine, indoor shower with hot water, and outdoor shower.
Bunk bed (full on bottom, twin on top) with linens provided, and inflatable bed available for a third person.
Five minutes by car from Jobos and Shack's Beaches for surfing, swimming, kite/wind surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, shell-collecting, horseback riding, and dining. The beach is close enough to walk to, but a rental car is highly recommended, since there's no public transportation.
Fifteen minutes from BQN airport, rental cars, public golf and tennis facilities, supermarkets, skateboard park, ice skating rink, and Surfer's and Wilderness beaches for surfing, hiking, and mountain-biking.
$45/night or $275 a week. $10/night extra for a third person. Special rates for longer stays. Minimum advance reservation is for three nights.
Surfboards available from 6'4" to 9'0" as well as other toys like bikes, and snorkel gear. A portable A/C unit can be provided.
Come and go as you please, but make sure the windows aren't wide open if it rains while you're gone. Also, please don't leave the fans running while you're gone, because they will not make the place any cooler when you get back (they work directly on your skin). Enjoy yourself!
Stayed for a week at Kathy and Terry's place.
Both were super nice and always willing to help – either with tips where to go, eat and surf or even with snorkeling gear. Kathy even drove me to the airport to get my rental car which was super nice, too.
Regarding the place: The apt is clean, comfortable and quiet.
Plus it has everything you might need during your stay wether it is a coffee machine or even a microwave. As Kathy already said in the description: a rental car is mandatory since the apt is not really close to anything. But that was what I was looking for so I liked it.
'Twas a remarkable little abode. Adorable in every way. Loved the treehouse and general vibe. Porsche restorage had me feeling at home in an alternate universe. Tons of boards. Plenty of privacy. only thing that goats me was the 7% vacation rental tax fee. It was small and I'm Not sure if it was written somewhere in the fine print but I just didn't realize there was more to pay after the fact. Otherwise, I would totally live here.
Kathy's place was exactly as described. It was a clean, quiet place to spend my evenings after a long day at the beautiful nearby beaches. Kathy and Terry were extremely welcoming and kind. I would definitely recommend this place to friends.
Kathy was a wonderful host! A very cozy place to stay on a budget with all the amenities. You will fall asleep listening to the coqui and awake to see beautiful flowers....amazing and peaceful! And don't forget to visit Jobos Beach, I found some great seashells there! Thank you Kathy for sharing your piece of the island!!
Kathy was very welcoming, laid back and relaxed. We enjoyed our time in the apartment - especially loved being in her tropical garden. Kathy shared fruit from her trees and we arrived to flowers in the room. Definitely recommend staying here - it's tranquil and comfy!
Great little studio just up the hill from Jobos. Really tropical and quite, comfortable beds as well.
Kathy and Terri are fantastic. They were so helpful and accommodating. They provided us with an extra mattress so my boys didn't have to share a bed. They're surfboards were perfect for us and at least half the cost of the local shops. The room was tiny but had everything we needed and was quite comfortable for my two teenage sons and myself. This place sits up on the hill and is much cooler at night. Had no need for a/c which was surprising coming from the cold nights in the Pacific NW.
It was the perfect place to rest and to make a little something to eat. We would definitely stay here again and for much longer.
