Interaction with Guests
We are a friendly but busy family. :) We do our best to be sensitive to the personalities of our guests...offering friendly conversation as welcomed.
The shared backyard space is quiet, private and secluded from the rest of the neighborhood. A variety of wildlife frequents our neighborhood and passes through our yard.
Our location is so convenient to the many joys of Estes Park. The EP Visitor Center is 1/2 mile away, the EP History Museum is just around the corner, beautiful Lake Estes is just 2-3 blocks away for walking/biking the 4 mile path or fly fishing its many great spots. During the summer months, we are a pleasant short walk to the Farmers Market located downtown. Just a few blocks from the Estes Park Free Trolley held at the Fairgrounds. On the other side of the fairgrounds is Stanley Park which is a great open space park with a playground, skatepark, tennis courts, basketball court, outdoor yoga, and indoor public swimming pool.
Because our family lives on the same premise and we live in a neighborhood, we hope our guests will respect a 9:30pm quiet time. Please - No Pets and No Smoking inside OR outside of our guesthouse.
We had a great stay with Kari and Joe! Great hosts and an amazing space with everything one needs. Easy access to the National Park and walking distance to downtown Estes Park. We will be back!
Hosts left some scones and ground coffee for us upon arrival which was a nice touch. Space was clean and had all the amenities advertised. Very close to downtown Estes, near the main road (but not noisy), bike trails are close by, lake is walking distance. WiFi was really fast and hosts left a whole sheet of recommended restaurants as well as outdoor activities.
We had a great experience: Our hosts were very hospitable. The living quarters were very nice. We saw are deer in the back yard when we arrived and witnessed it leaping away. In the morning there were many birds at the feeders including sparrows, house finches chickadees, juncos, and a few crows. We loved our stay.
Great place to stay! Joe and Kari are very welcoming and provided us with everything we needed! Would highly recommend and return if our plans took us that way again! Thanks so much!
Very comfortable place to stay, with fast wi-fi Internet, great hosts, and wonderful options for hiking a 5 minute drive away. Highly recommended.
My friends and I had an amazing experience with kari and joe. We only stay for one night but really enjoyed our time in the mountains. The host were very welcoming and gave us great suggestions for hikes and surrounding attractions. Their cabin was cozy, comfortable and located close to the town. Thank you both for your hospitality!
Such a cozy and comfortable place to stay! The location was so convenient; just a short drive downtown, to Lake Estes, and Rocky Mountain National Park. Joe and Kari are splendid hosts! They made sure to let us know which restaurants and trails to check out and even left yummy coffee and biscotti for us! We definitely prefer this setting over a generic hotel room.
Joe and I moved to Estes Park, CO in 2013 after visiting many times. It has been a great fit to pursue our wedding photography and "Shoot My Hike" photography businesses. We intentionally chose to live in the neighborhood we do, because of the many great neighbors, but also the close walking distance we are to the Stanley Park, Skatepark, Lake Estes, Fairgrounds, Farmers Market, Restaurants, and all that Downtown has to offer. We were so pleased to find a home with a guesthouse located in the backyard. We look forward to meeting many new people through airbnb!
