This is like having your own small apartment (250 sf2 / 23m2) within a bigger apartment, and it’s perfect for short or long term vacation or business travel.
We are located on the 4th floor of a pre war building right across from Prospect Park and a 3 minutes walk from the subway: 20 min to Downtown Manhattan, 20 min to the beach. Cafes, restaurants, delis, pharmacy and supermarket are around the corner.
Once you walk through the apartment into your private space, you will find everything you need: a very spacious and bright room overlooking beautiful Prospect Park, with a comfortable full size bed, fresh sheets, a small kitchenette and a private bathroom including fresh towels, soap and shampoo.
The kitchenette includes all brand new appliances: 2 hot plates, mini fridge, toaster, electric kettle and a french press.
You will find coffee, different teas, granola and milk for a simple but delicious breakfast.
Air conditioning, free wifi, 1 big closet, extra comforter, enough outlets + european converter. Laundry and elevator in the building. There are 2 bicycles you can borrow when we don’t use them.
Outside your door is a chalk board, where you can write messages to us and also let us know, if anything is missing (toilet paper, soap, breakfast items etc..)
You will live with us, our lovely roommate and our friendly and clean cat "Lion", which we’d like to keep out of your room.
We speak english, german and french and are happy to answer all your questions and recommend restaurants/bars/clubs etc to you.

Caro and Al are really great hosts, the room is quiet, huge and very cozy. Highly recommended, anytime!
It was very nice staying at Caro and Al's place. The room was clean and looked exactly as the pictures shown. As the room has its private bathroom inside as well as a stove to cook and to heat water, you have your own space and do not need to socialize if you don't want to.
It has a nice view to the park and it is very near the subway, so you can get anywhere easily at any time.
This was my first Airbnb experience and both Caro and Al made me feel comfortable at their place. Nice meeting them, I'd stay there again!
Caro and Al were extremely friendly and it was a nice, clean apartment! Our flight landed 3 hours late, while Caro waited for us in the apartment. If we needed anything, we could write on a chalkboard, and then they arranged it for us. Around the corner there is a shop where you can do food shopping ( Pionneer and WholeFoods). Fast connection to the subway.
Room was lovely and clean- and very comfy bed. Quirky cool, took us back to our flat sharing days in the 90's- In fact the area reminded us of North East London, Stoke Newington- very multi cultural but very friendly too. Saw Caro and Al a few times and had nice chats, Lion the cat was persuasive but we chucked him out! Was freezing cold last week and through to this week too, but room and flat so warm. Radiator couldn't be turned down so had window open and ear plugs to hand from Caro and Al, as road below is quite busy at times. We slept fine 'tho. Prospect park is over the road and a great space and we could walk over to our friends in Park slope in 30 mins. Somehow we missed the fact that the subway is just round the corner until 3 days into our stay, which could have made things easier for ourselves! All in all we enjoyed our stay and would (website hidden) people (email hidden) conversion plug, we forgot and had to buy one for our i- phones...still, useful to have as we will be back to New York, loved it.
Carolin and Alastair (and Lion-the-cat) were super nice and the room in their apartment is spacious, comfortable with high ceilings and decorated in a fun, funky style. The room has a private bath with a walk-in shower, which is nice. The room feels very private and large.
The location is particularly great if you are interested in exploring Brooklyn. The apartment is right across from Prospect Park, which has a zoo, botanical garden and impressive library among its attractions. The apartment is a very short distance to the subway (roughly a 5 minutes walk) and about a 30 minute subway ride to Times Square. We felt very safe walking back and forth to the subway as the neighborhood seems fine.
There is a small kitchenette set up in the room with a refrigerator, hotplate, dishes, utensils, coffeemaker, etc. Carolin and Alastair had left us a box of yummy organic cereal and milk, so we could have a quick breakfast before leaving. There are also some restaurants in a commercial district within a couple of blocks of the apartment.
We were there in February, and the heat in the apartment can't be controlled by the apartment dwellers, so we took Carolin and Alastair's advice and just opened the window when it got too hot. It does mean you can hear the cars in the street, but it didn't bother us and was muffled somewhat by the snow. It was actually nice to sleep in the fresh air in the middle of winter. We found the bed very comfortable.
Lion, the cat, is not allowed in the room, although this doesn't stop him from trying. He's very nice. My husband and I are both allergic to cats but were not bothered by him, so it seems that they are largely successful at keeping him out of the room.
If you are interested in staying in Brooklyn then this is a great choice!
We really enjoyed our stay with Caro and Al. They were excellent hosts and had thought of everything - from cereal, milk and hot drinks for breakfast, to a welcome chocolate on our pillow and soap and shampoo in the shower. it was great having our own mini "apartment" and super easy to get to manhatten and elsewhere on the station - even with the winter storm. Would definitely stay again and recommend others to as well.
Just excellent, close to Manhattan, the room is perfect with many details like NYC guides which are very helpful. The hosts are great.
Sweet hosts and very cosy, nice and spacious room. Absolutely safe neighbourhood. I felt very welcome and would like to stay at Caro & Al's place again when I am in New York next time. A perfect stay!!
I had a wonderful experience in Brooklyn staying with Caro and Al. Absolutely no complaints - they are very sweet, considerate, and the room was just like in the pictures: clean, spacious, and decorated in such a cute way. It felt like a home away from home. The Q train is a quick block away and there's a super cute coffee shop around the block which is a great place to hang. I felt very safe in the building and in the neighborhood. To top it off their cat is adorable and super friendly. I would definitely recommend staying here!
Really nice room, very helpful hosts. Nice location close to Metro. We loved it!
