About this listing
Featured in 100+ magazines for its sheer simplicity, this beautiful eco three bedroom home is located steps away from the heart of downtown Mill Valley. Enjoy a drink on the patio, or walk to the local shops, restaurants, and hiking trails!
Don't like staying in cluttered homes? We don't either!
Located steps from the heart of downtown Mill Valley, this home has been featured in more than 100 magazines for its sheer simplicity and low environmental footprint. Rarely will you find such an inspiring space that combines modern design, all the amenities, and a fabulous location!
On the first floor, the dining room leads to a designer kitchen on one-side and opens to an outdoor deck on the other, overlooking Mill Valley with a glimpse of the San Francisco skyline.
The living room features modular furniture which you can arrange based on your activities, as well as an entertainment center which includes an Apple TV with iTunes/iPod connection, surround sound and a multi-room speaker system. Off the living room, a half-bath helps with every day convenience.
Upstairs, three bedrooms share a European-style bathroom with an open shower. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed and walk-in closet, and the two other bedrooms a twin bed each.
We love our home's simplicity, straight forward floor plan and sun-splashed deck and so will you!
In the warmer months, you can open the french doors and the deck becomes an extension of the interior - Great to read a book or entertain. And because it extends into the oak tree in front of the house, it's as if you were staying in a tree house.
Deers, squirrels, hummingbirds, etc. can be easily spotted on the property and yet, it's located just one block away from the downtown.
You could not have hoped to find a better location and we're so excited to host you!
The guests will have access to the entire house, with the exception of our downstairs office (locked and not pictured), the upstairs attic, and the garage.
The property is located within steps of the Outdoor Art Club (events, weddings, film festival), the downtown's boutiques, the Depot Bookstore, restaurants (Italian, Bistro, Sushi, Steak), cafes, ice cream shops, theaters, and the famous Sweetwater Music hall.
You'll be a 10 minutes walk from the redwoods of Old Mill Park (redwood trees, picnic tables, creek, play structure, start of the Dipsea steps, award-winning library) and from Boyle Park (picnic tables, public tennis courts, creek and play structure).
By car, you'll be 5 minutes from the Mill Valley Recreation Center (events, grass field, community pool and classes), 12 minutes from the Golden Gate, 15 minutes from San Francisco, 15 minutes from the majestic Redwoods of Muir Woods, 30 minutes from Stinson Beach, 45 minutes from Point Reyes (beautiful scenery and artisan foods), Sonoma (wine tasting), Berkeley (cultural events), and 1 hour from the Napa Valley wine region.
To get into San Francisco, you can take Golden Gate Transit (Mill Valley #4 bus) from the Depot straight downtown through Fisherman's wharf and to the financial district. Check 511.org or (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)Maps for schedule, fares, and stop locations.
From the airport, a Uber ride costs about $54 (no traffic), or you can take the Marin Airporter ($20) to the Manzanita stop and order a taxi from the bus driver to take you from Manzanita to the property ($6-$10 fare).
