THE PLACE: I have a two bedroom unit that takes up the entire main floor of a duplex. I am renting out the second bedroom. I am often travelling for extended periods due to my work in the tech industry. If I happen to be travelling (I'll let you know at the time of the booking), you will have the place to yourself. The place is cleaned professionally before each guest arrives. The location is perfect, the decor is simple. Clean sheets and towels will of course be provided. Please, come and go as you please, make yourself at home and try not to break anything!

It is great having my own place. I also love travelling on Airbnb. I've tried to learn the tips and tricks from others to make your stay hassle free.
LOCATION: I am perched on top of a hill. On Church street, I am two blocks South-West of downtown Kitchener. We are a 5 minute walk from the Charles Street Bus Terminal. Some great spots to check out include Northern Thai ($7-$14 Thai meals), Imbibe (Craft pub), Queen St Commons (Cheap vegetarian food) and the Yeti Cafe (coffee/sandwiches).
PARKING: Free street parking is available from 6pm-8am. Otherwise you will need to pay a meter with a maximum time allotment of 3 hours. There is also an indoor parking garage two blocks away at King and Fredrick.
ABOUT ME: I am a 26 year old outgoing guy. I work with a technology company (Vidyard) here in town that I am very passionate about. I enjoy competitive sports and getting out of the house regularly (sport, pub, party, walk, bike ride, etc...)

You will have full access to the house and your own key to come and go as you please.

I have a great view in downtown Kitchener. The neighbourhood has old homes. Due to the proximity to downtown, you may hear the occasional siren or music festival - particularly on weekends. The Kitchener Farmers Market is unbelievable if you are around on a Saturday morning. It is just down the road from my house. There are also various shops along King Street's downtown core. If you wish to do something quieter, there is a nice high school with a large public park at Madison and Church. People often play sports at the school (Tennis, frisbe or swim at their pool). There is also a GoodLife gym if you workout while travelling.
Kitchener bus terminal (intercity and in city) is a 5 minute walk.

This is a very low-stress environment. A very modest accommodation, Ian makes you feel right at home. You feel comfortable taking a beer out of the fridge at night and putting your feet up. For the price, it can't be beat. Next time I stay in Kitchener, I won't hesitate at all where to book; I will stay right at Ian's.
The place was clean and very quiet, nice for downtown Kitchener. Very simple though, bed frame was on the floor, only 1 little bench in the small bedroom, but he did tell us that before we booked. Parking was also tight, but he managed to park us in. Ian was nice & actually sat down & talked to us, even though he was in a hurry to leave. A very nice fellow & very accommodating. Bathroom was clean also. We were alone most of the weekend, so we could do what we wanted.

I was looking for a place to stay while my house was getting ready. The place was great and had just what I needed. But most importantly, Ian was just what a new resident needed. Ian showed me around downtown, gave great recommendations on things to do and also showed me super places to eat.
Ian greeted me like an old friend and went the extra mile to make me feel like one too! The room and place was very clean, warm, snug and very comfortable during a very cold February. A great place to relax, quiet at night, and Ian was very friendly and outgoing and really made me feel at home when I was away from mine.
An excellent place to stay, you won't be disappointed.

Ian's place was great- conveniently located, cozy and well equipped. Also it had one of the best mattresses I have ever slept on!
We enjoyed our stay. It was nice to have the entire unit to ourselves. The unit was on a quiet residential street and conveniently located close to where we were visiting. Appreciated perks included a parking spot and laundry machine. Ian was very responsive and easy-going. Would stay there again.

Thanks Ian. Was great to be so close to everything and for your help with highway driving directions. Having easy access to the place when you were not home was also very helpful. Happy to recommend. WIFI was not so great but you had just bought a new router to fix this.
