I enjoy meeting new visitors and provide a unique and pleasant stay in Downtown Kitchener!
I have a simple professionally cleaned two bedroom unit. It's the entire main floor of a duplex.
Feel free to send me a quick message about your trip!
THE PLACE: I have a two bedroom unit that takes up the entire main floor of a duplex. I am renting out the second bedroom. I am often travelling for extended periods due to my work in the tech industry. If I happen to be travelling (I'll let you know at the time of the booking), you will have the place to yourself. The place is cleaned professionally before each guest arrives. The location is perfect, the decor is simple. Clean sheets and towels will of course be provided. Please, come and go as you please, make yourself at home and try not to break anything!
MY VIEW ON AIRBNB: Feel free to send me a note, happy to give guidance on your trip. My friends tell me I would do well (email hidden) or hostel (website hidden) has been good up until now. It is great having my own place. I also love travelling on Airbnb. I've tried to learn the tips and tricks from others to make your stay hassle free.
LOCATION: I am perched on top of a hill. On Church street, I am two blocks South-West of downtown Kitchener. We are a 5 minute walk from the Charles Street Bus Terminal. Some great spots to check out include Northern Thai ($7-$14 Thai meals), Imbibe (Craft pub), Queen St Commons (Cheap vegetarian food) and the Yeti Cafe (coffee/sandwiches).
PARKING: Free street parking is available from 6pm-8am. Otherwise you will need to pay a meter with a maximum time allotment of 3 hours. There is also an indoor parking garage two blocks away at King and Fredrick.
ABOUT ME: I am a 26 year old outgoing guy. I work with a technology company (Vidyard) here in town that I am very passionate about. I enjoy competitive sports and getting out of the house regularly (sport, pub, party, walk, bike ride, etc...)
CRAZY FACT: I bicycled across Canada - Blog link: (website hidden)
You will have full access to the house and your own key to come and go as you please.
Interaction with Guests
I'm very responsive to any messages or phone calls. If I am around during your stay I'd be happy to hang out. Please let me know ahead of time as my schedule can get busy!
I have a great view in downtown Kitchener. The neighbourhood has old homes. Due to the proximity to downtown, you may hear the occasional siren or music festival - particularly on weekends. The Kitchener Farmers Market is unbelievable if you are around on a Saturday morning. It is just down the road from my house. There are also various shops along King Street's downtown core. If you wish to do something quieter, there is a nice high school with a large public park at Madison and Church. People often play sports at the school (Tennis, frisbe or swim at their pool). There is also a GoodLife gym if you workout while travelling.
Kitchener bus terminal (intercity and in city) is a 5 minute walk.

Enjoy your stay!
I stayed here as it flipped from Ian to Drew looking after things; and both are friendly dudes. It's super convenient to downtown Kitchener and the Greyhound terminal, which does make it easy for getting around. I had the back bedroom, which was far larger than I expected. Yay! The kitchen was also pretty well equipped.
Ian was out of town so he left us a key and we basically had the place to ourselves for the weekend. The apartment is well equipped, and the location is great - right next to everything in downtown Kitchener. If you're there during the weekend, be sure to check out the farmers' market on Saturday!
My boyfriend and I recently stayed at Ian's this past weekend. We were there for a wedding and the location was PERFECT, very convenient. Both the church and reception were in walking distance, at most we would only walk ten minutes! The neighborhood was comfortable and safe to walk around, there weren't any noisy neighbors over the weekend. The room was clean, washroom worked perfectly fine, bed was comfortable, basically everything was functionally and didn't have any trouble with household appliances. Tea and coffee was available along with other stuff that happens to be there like cereal and what not. =)
Ian have been a wonderful host. He was very inviting and welcoming, I wish we were able to stay longer on Sunday to have breakfast with him but we had to leave early! He told us about the weekly Saturday Farmer's Market that was only 3 blocks away from his place, so we were able to check that out. I myself, love exploring farmer's markets from all over so I was a very happy camper! Ian is adventurous and has many stories but also knows of many things to do/try if you really want to explore Canada. Ian is an awesome host and person. I believe it's okay to call him a friend now! Definitely would come back to visit IAN! HAHA
Ian was a great host! Sadly, I never got the chance to meet him as our schedules never lined up. But his apartment was spacious, clean, and quiet. I would definitely stay again!
Ian is a cool guy. He's very helpful and laid-back. We enjoyed our stay at his apartment and we we're really appreciative of the fact, that we could bring our cats. That was a big help for us. Ian was mostly out, due to a busy weekend, so we had the place to ourselves which was great. The location is pretty central I think and there's enough to do in downtown Kitchener, although we had to take care of business elsewhere. So yeah it was a good stay for us, and the price was good as well. Wifi was good, and watching shows via Netflix was nice too!
Very nice place and very nice host. Was able to accommodate on short notice and everything is perfect.
I stayed at Ian's place for nearly a month. It was a very good stay. Ian picked me up from the airport and gave me a brief tour of Kitchener on the way into town, suggesting good places to eat, get groceries and things to do.
The room is basic, but comfortable. The location is very good, only two blocks from downtown Kitchener with lots of restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. The main transit terminal is also very close so it's easy to get elsewhere in Kitchener/Waterloo.
Ian was traveling for much of my stay but was very friendly when he was around, often inviting me along when he had things planned. Not knowing anyone in K/W it was great to have the company.
It was a good trip and I'd recommend staying here.
I own a three unit house in town. My good friend Ian introduced me to Airbnb when he decided to rent out his (my) unit to travellers.
I grew up in northern Ontario and went to school on the east coast before settling down in downtown Kitchener. Now that I have a place - I welcome guests with open arms.
We had some great guests and I would like to continue his tradition! Make yourself at home, try not to break anything!
